With Gorgoroth he recorded the albun "Antichrist" (1996), as a guest the "Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam" (2006) and the “Destroyer,or About How to Philosophize with the Hammer“ (1998) and especially on “The Devil, The Sinner and His Journey“. And after realizing I just said "this takes me back" even though that was just 4 years ago, really shows how fucking old I feel mentally, holy tapdancing christ.

I've only listened to Evangelion and The Satanist.. Daimonos was godly, but the rest kinda paled. Messe Noir and Ben Sahar are tracks I remember from The Satanist, but the albums as a whole didn't do much for me. Sometimes I think it's me, but are their older albums much different?
1999s Satanica is a masterfully well done Black Metal album, and while Nergal's vocals are a far cry from what one would call true black metal vocals, his snarling roar compliments the swarm of roaring guitars and epic blastbeats. "Decade of Therion" and "Ceremony of Shiva" are two particular standouts that I recommend without reserve, and the album as a whole is all killer, no filler in the 4th degree. 2000's Thelema 6 is a tad tamer, with a longer run time and 15 tracks, however, 12 of those 15 are black metal squared, with Nergal's vocals actually going into the higher registers. Not all killer, but only 3 fillers. After these two i can't say much about them until The Apostasy and Evangelion, both of which i consider fantastic albums. Truth be told it's been a long time since i actually sat down to actually listen to Behemoth, but I still consider them a fantastic band, and i hope Razor does an episode on them

Thank you so much for making me give Gorgoroth another chance! I thoroughly enjoyed Pentagram, Antichrist, Under The Sign Of Hell and the latest two albums, but honestly never cared for the stuff where Girl and King Toilet were in the band - a couple of guys I hung out with in my teens were fans of Gorgoroth but that was the Girl & Toilet-era and I honestly just didn't like it. It did nothing for me. Upon hearing Pest on vocals, a switch in my brain flipped and I thought 'Yes! This is what I wanted to hear way back then!' But damn, the early stuff and the most recent two albums, WOW. Thanks so much for doing this video! Much appreciated, dude! :D
+The Rageaholic - A great look back on the band which introduced me to black metal, and a peerless example of Scandinavian brilliance. I'll admit, when I was first introduced to Gorgoroth at the age of 15, since I had all the taste and informed opinions of a person of that age, I listened primarily to the Gaahl-era albums and was something of a fanboy of him and his pseudo-philosophical late night tv tripe. However, with age and perspective, I wholeheartedly agree that not only does Infernus deliver far greater quality songs throughout a much longer period of the band's life, and that he is the closest thing to the embodiment of Gorgorth, but that the celebrity culture exploiter Gaahl actively tried to destroy the band. I'll be listening to the earlier albums with glee and would just like to say two things: first, thank you so much for introducting me to the marvel of metal by the name of Inquisition through the opening of your Dragon Age review, and second, to ask you what you think of the band's reputation to refuse to publish the lyrical content of their songs and to even actively oppose attempts to publish interpretations of the songs by fans online? (God fucking speed!)

Frost what a badass name. I love Satyricon.
One of the very best drummers, you could have said more about his time on Gorgoroth, that I'm personally curious about, than cape thing. I don't care what they put on. Actually he used to wear Euronymous cape, so is kinda part of it. How bow that?
I thought he did more than one track on “destroyer” pa slagmark langt mot & the next track are brutal nonetheless, think it’s vrolok & Infernus on those
I really love this series man motorhead and darkthrone has been my favourite coverage so far. Fucking great bands man
i expect to be crucified for the following statement, but I really like Godseed...
Saw them live opening for Cult of Luna... Was an amazing night!!!
and Ghaal does have a charismatic and captivating stage appearance....
Ghaal is a great vocalist but a shit person.
dont feel like that, feel like this dude is gaahl's biggest hater lol
@@NepTunezzzz no i am gaahls biggest hater
Gorgoroth opening for Cult of Luna is the weirdest line up I’ve ever heard
An At The Gates mythos would be cool.
He doesn’t like death metal
@@AliJr_MetalGames_MetalGuitar They are far from just "death metal". Melodic death metal is such a vast genre unto itself that it's a completely different world from typical death metal.
this guy has nailed exactly how i feel about gorgoroth 100% to a tee. im so glad this video exists.
i always say to people, for as long as gaahl and king were in the band, the band was cheese, Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt was an absolute beast of a comeback, atteringer is only good in triumfall, and HOEST should be recorded on Instinctus Bestialis!!!
Thanks for recommending quantos possunt ad satanitatem trahunt. I've had it on repeat for about 3 weeks.
David Lee Gorgoroth. Love it.
Great video. I really love the Pest footage. They are definitely becoming one of my favorite bands.
hey do one on Limp Bizkit dude
lol
EABT, visste inte att du gillade Black metal
How about no
Angry Foreigner shittiest band ever
Han har ju en Dimmu Borgir affisch på sin vägg.
Rather be hotboxed with flatulence than listen to this genre of metal. BUT, I love me some Metal Mythos. So I'll buckle in, fill my ears with gauze, hope to learn something new and decrease my ignorance of black metal. G.F.S. Razor
always nice to see something of Gorgoroth. Any opinions on Impaled nazarene or Satanic warmaster? Both representing of course the finnish scene for the genre.
That crack at Pest was the first thing to make me smile this week Hahaha
👍🕵
Do a Taake Metal Mythos
+Vault Dweller Taake fucking slays
+Mysterious Stranger Taake, the only band with the balls to use a fucking banjo in black metal.
+Amit Sugarman what song is it that has a banjo? i must have missed it...
Krilkaazzoor Myr
John Doe i know panopticon does.
Hey man. Just saw this footage from 2023 today - thought you'd be interested. Sound quality is Black Metal...but so is the music. Zing! Still a shame we haven't gotten Hoest on a studio album. Dude, kills it. -Dustin
My favorite RazorFist quotes ; "He was never been about substance, He's about attention , He's about spectacle"... " He's David Lee Gorgoroth"!!! ..." Fuck Gaahl & the horse face, that he rode in on.." Lmfao ..Next!!!! \m/
Dude, I love the Thief II poster you got up! Nice!
🔥Rebirth of Gorgoroth🤘🏼💀🔥
FINALLY!
Thanks. Been waiting for this. \m/
Gaahl is cool and all. But the days of Hat were the best IMO. Frickin' Pentagram
First video ive ever watched on this channel. This guys pretty kool
Was expecting to hate this video given that most of these types are awful. Fully enjoyed, liked n subbed my dude
Thank you for adding the Zandig JEEZUS at the end! \m/!
Will you be doing a metal mythos on King Diamond/Mercyful Fate or Black Sabbath?
Adrian Zafari I heard a yes on a live stream for mercyful fate/king diamond.
Adrian Zafari Very good!
Just in case you javent checked it out, hes done Black Sabbath and King Diamond.
Ah, this takes me back to 9th grade, my literature teacher and I would talk about metal for hours after school playing Magic the Gathering, and he introduced to me to Gorgoroth and Moonsorrow in the same conversation.
And after realizing I just said "this takes me back" even though that was just 4 years ago, really shows how fucking old I feel mentally, holy tapdancing christ.
I love all of gorgoroths albums🤘🔥
oh my holy science, I want to spend a week with this man
That final after credit clip made my ribs hurt I laughed so hard
Man these black metal mythos are so damn good, please do more extreme metal
Any chance of an Iced Earth Mythos at some point? I can't think of many bands more deserving.
+BaronVonWolfe19 With multiple mentions of the band and multiple uses of their songs in his reviews, it's more about "when" than "if". Maybe it'll happen once they release The Judas Goat
Fantastic channel; I'll be following future uploads.
What are your thoughts on Dissection? I love them.
the most underrated band in metal period!
Hail Gorgoroth! This band is terrific. Antichrist is my favorite if their work.
After seeing this, i cannot WAIT for his take on Behemoth....if he actually does do Behemoth.
Truth be told it's been a long time since i actually sat down to actually listen to Behemoth, but I still consider them a fantastic band, and i hope Razor does an episode on them
Don’t count on it. Razor’s said on an arcade episode that he’s not a fan of behemoth, and he doesn’t do mythos on bands he doesn’t like.
So I figured.
@@euthanasia9930 insanely different. I started with demigod, and holy fuck its like nile had a 3 way with morbid angel and satan himself xD then theres zos kia cultus, which is riff heaven. Of course i cant forget The apostasy, their experimental record. Check out At the left Hand Ov god, or Christgrinding Avenue
your metal mythos are great
Shoud do a mythos on Watain/Dissection, that would be epic
@@anfie2495 🤣
"David Lee Gorgoroth"
I can't breathe
these videos are the best reviews I have ever seen...about anything. seriously
1:31 I live in the pacific northwest (washington specifically) and I can confirm, we all look exactly like that
Godspeed rageman , most of the recommendation you have made on this videos have been on point. Thank you.
Wow, early 90s Dave Grohl really knows his black metal!
The Gaahl/KingovHell albums are by far my favorite
thats just silly
I love your rants! They remind me of a "Metal Dennis Miller"!
Your black metal scream ain't half bad, dude...and David Lee Gorgoroth!!! ROFL
I love watching these now that I've found them because your tastes are almost diametrically opposed to mine pretty consistently in every video I've watched so far, like Blodoffer is far and away my favorite track on Destroyer. I also love When Love Rages Wild in my Heart. You tend to got reasons I can't disagree with too, even if the reasoning leads to the opposite conclusion of mine.
You nailed it with that Nachtmystium remark though, as someone who lived in Portland in that time. Also Velvet Cocoon. Beautiful.
Fun stuff.
Great video, as usual. You mentioned The Sisters of Mercy briefly. What do you think of them?
I've come back to this video so much purely because of how much catharsis I get from you shitting on Gaahl and King.
Black Metal isn't a sound,is a feeling...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great vid, Rage! 🤟
Hearing Razör scream is surprisingly awesome
+(Un)Filtered Frustration - There's a demo he did with a Black Metal band on youtube.
I'll give you the link: /watch?v=oSi7mmcpo_0
The drumming on Pentagram is fucking *infernal.* Seriously, it's like the song you would hear when you would go into the dungeon in Diablo 1.
And speaking of Diablo, Gorgoroth would definitely fit blaring over Diablo 1 and 2 (and I guess 3 aswell.)
Absolutely hell fucking *yes*!
I've been a fan for over 18 years, one of my all time favorites. Saw them live in December. Was definitely one of the absolute best shows I've yet seen.
Also I'm surprised to hear you're such a big fan of Blood Stained Dusk. They're good friends of mine
Spikes, leather, AND Satan? Sounds like a jolly day at the beach.
"When Love Rages Wild In My Heart".... I'm dying over here.. Bahahaha.
