If they do My Friend of Misery, they NEED to do the live version. What James does with the crowd is incredible. Not many frontmen can make an entire crowd harmonize with each other.
It really is sick to see people of other cultures, raised completely different than me actually enjoy the same music. I grew up listening to metal, and Metallica was where I started. Killer stuff. Yall should really check out master of puppets, sad but true, cyanide. Just a couple different styles to show what they are all about.
Metallica will always be one of my favorite all time metal groups. I love this song. I was deployed to Afghanistan in 2004 and I blared this one every time we left the wire to get hyped! The line that makes sense in this one, “To Secure Peace is to Prepare for War” I did a hype up video to this song with apaches, C-130s blowing chafe, just a bunch of moto shit.
The Gadsden flag, which represents a rattlesnake with the motto Dont Tread On Me ("do not step on me", "do not step on me", "down my legs", in Latin: nemo me impune lacessit), is a standard used by liberals , libertarians. Its origin dates back to Benjamin Franklin and the United States War of Independence. It was invented by Colonel Christopher Gadsden in 1775 and adopted by several military units or states as one of the symbols of the Revolution and the new nation.
Love this vid. Also love that you did a track that historically got less airtime than a lot of the others. Good tune and you gaveit it’s due credit. Keep it up 👍🏻
The song actually starts with an arrangement of the song "America" from the famous musical West Side Story. Just in case anyone wonders what it is really about many of the lyrics come from the writings of Benjamin Franklin. The snake on the album cover is based on the famous Gadsden flag that says "Don't Tread On Me" along the bottom. Here's a link to small video about the flag's origins: ruclips.net/video/1ZPImFg62qQ/видео.html
Saw Metallica live several times. Awesome performances every time. Was actually in the "Snake Pit" for the Black Album and saw this song performed live. Incredible! 🤩👍

There is a video out. A lady was hiking and a mountain lion was at the far end of her path. She started playing Don't Tread On Me and the animal ran away. She said she played the song until she got off of the walking trail.🤣😂🤣😂 Scared that animal away.
That's the beauty of rap and metal. In a way, they're not so different with respect to rappers and bands writing and performing songs that have personal or historical context, and may be rich with morals. In the end it's all expressive and trying to communicate messages to anyone in all parts of the world. Big 'Tallica fan by the way. I love how Asia was at the beginning of the video. The look on her face showed she was anxious and excited for more 'Tallica. So glad you both approve of the legendary 'Tallica. Stay metal!
you want a tear jerker (close to a tear jerker) ... do Metallica Fade to Black Lollapalooza 2022 ... it's considered one of metallicas power ballads and is a pretty scary sad song about suicide,... during this concert james actually breaks during the song and speaks on suicide prevention
Don't tread on me is an old war cry, from Americans who were fighting their own government. This song is about citizens of America standing for their rights. Prepare for war means taking on the government if they try to take our rights away/
you might want to look at the next big thing in rock. the band The Warning. 3 sisters who went viral when they did a cover of enter sandman and other classics when they were kids. and then forward to now when they are included in the blacklist album, artists covering metallica and of course their live of their original songs like evolve. you can look them up here on their channel The Warning. god blessss
Welcome to the black album. I got this when I was 11 or 12 years old. Changed my life when it came to metal. It gets crap from old school Metallica die hards. But I think it’s their most complete album.
Hey Y''all - if you happen upon a "Dislike" on this one, please forgive me! I just realized I clicked that instead of "Like", which I definitely DID...Definitely a great song throughout! #MetallicaRules

I may not be in the military but I do know the term don't tread on me and the snake on the cover is somewhat synonymous with the United States Marine corps
The equivalent of US marines in the continental army had it on their banner , while fighting the establishment (the British )during the revolutionary war . You’re both kinda right tbh
What does don't tread on me mean? Originating as a motto on an iconic Revolutionary War flag, don't tread on me is a historic expression of American patriotism. Today, it may be used as a more general expression of personal freedom and individualism....... but when the revolution was brewing up flags appeared of a snake that's been cut up I believe? (Not 100%) here... but it was one of the first displays to the king of Britain things weren't sitting well in the colonies.....as far as I know lol
