If you want sansamp and you don't have that much money, this pedal will be a great replacement.
Please like and subscribe on my channel, thanks.
Im thinking about giving bass a shot but I dont have an amp. I have a captorx and a motu m4. a beringer euro mixer and an active monitor. will this pedal work with any of this stuff ?
Should be okay. Just put the active monitor on line level..
is the bass being recorded DI or amp? thanks.
@@RobertSloveri would guess Di
No fluff, ads, needless chat, but straight to the point. Excellent vid!! Thanks!
Awesome Demo!! I learned everything I wanted to know about the pedal in 3 minutes, and no sales pitch. Thank you, great job👍
Thank you for demoing with a pick! This is exactly the tone demo I needed! Liked and subscribed!
Well worth $35. Transforms any amp into a warm tube sounding tone. Love it!
I came across this video because I was looking at Wine Cellar pedals. This is the best product review ever. Just show us what it does, and no long-winded stories.
This is how a review of a pedal should look. Nice job. And very nice lady's nails :)
Another great demo. You (plural) always hit all the settings I would look for, and pretty much all the useful combinations. No nonsense, I love it.
Best pedal review i have seen on youtube. Thanks keep it up!
This is superb. Clever way of doing a demo. Thanks.
I use it as a clean preamp with the drive knob all the way down and then I smash it with a Boss ODB3 bass overdrive. It's a huge tone.
are you using XLR output as well?
😂 really?!!!
Or just get a B7K 🤷🏻♀️
@@WilDBeestMF I was suggesting a low budget option to get a huge tone.
The Darkglass B7K has a retail price out of most of the average players and it's not for everyone. I have a real Sansamp and a B7K and I use one or another depending of the gig. And I like the Sansamp more than the B7K TBH
This means almost 600 bucks in two pedals. With the Wine Cellar and a Boss ODB3 you can get a decent tone for about 100 bucks if you find them on the used market.
@@WilDBeestMF Sure thing Ola Englund
Awesome demo, dude. This preamp pedal sounds pretty cool.
Excellent! Sold! I’m getting one! Can’t believe the price for this! 🔥🔊🔊🎶😁
I bought this pedal earlier last year, and I have to say, it's subtle, but it does make a huge difference at the end of a pedal chain, when playing your bass as a rhythm-guitar in a shoegaze-like setting.
*derpderpderp*
I gotta be honest. I bought this for our bass player since I insist he run direct. This thing sounds amazing. I and our bass player highly recommend it!
increible, esperaba una review de ese pedal porque lo quiero comprar, buen video! / incredible, I was expecting a review of that pedal because I want to buy it, good video!
I just used this at a gig. Direct input into the pa. It was big and booming. Nothing else just the di box.
Straight to the point. Excellent video, thanks.
It is the best demo of this pedal!
Perfect demo.
Awesome demo, thank you
At last! Thank you for this!
Before I bought the Laney Digbeth pre-amp pedal, I used this one... itś an amazing pedal. A Sansamp without the big pricetag.
I have this pedal. Lots of usable tones.
are you using XLR output as well?
Not sure! I think it is a bit flat sounding and with cranked drive not good at all
Did you record the output without any other FX or anything? And without sending it to an amp first and micing it?
Dry signal was amazing. (when the pedal was turned off)
🤔
@@707-JL you heard right. 😂
That is a compliment because the #1 problem with cheap petals is the excess noise, humming, static, etc… I have this pedal now and it is clean. Yet it gives the mild compression and gain I want right before my Cliff Burton Morley Wah with fuzz, as I found that pedal needs a preamp of some sort to drive it…
I mean the dry signal itself is killer
I got me one of these thinking the XLR output could be used as DI with phantom power but it doesn't work with phantom power at all. It only sends out the same level as the jack output when plugged to a 9v power source. What's the deal with that?
is the bass being recorded DI or amp? thanks.
Great review
Friend, is there a big difference between this and a Joyo model, or is it just the DI?
Отличный преамп и di box
Does it come with the pink nails? :)
Nice sir.
muy buen video saludos desde tijuana
What is the best? this or the harmonic booster from demox fx?
Question. Can I use the 6.3mm output as preamp out to send the signal into a power amp, and the XLR output as output for PA system??
The Wine Cellar have enough XLR volume for a mixer PA or to pilot a Power amp like the Sansamp?
nice job! Does it work directly connected to the headphones?
No You need an amp with headphone socket
New subscriber here!
It’s obviously a clone of the Sans Amp Bass Driver DI.
Fine with that.. but I like the look and size of the Dr.J Sparrow more than this one OR the Behringer version.
It seems more subtle than the Bass Driver. I wouldn't call it a clone.
Are you running flats on that bass?
Beginner question here..how did u record the sound from the cp60 is the output cable went directly to the audio interface?or other device should be use? Will i be able to get this tone simply by this process BASS ->CP60->INTERFACE->PC ??? Thanks in adavnce..
Yes. Being a DI box it lifts the "instrument level" signal to the "line level" signal that your recording interface will prefer. This is the role that DI boxes play, and also what many recording pre-amps do.
This pedal have cab simulator? Or preamp only?
Jo bass, what is the frequency of the low?
Can’t find any demos of the Caline Bass Chorus. This drive seems great for the price so I’m assuming most of the others are.
Anyone have experience w/ the Caline Bass Chorus?
Been using mine for months now, served me well and I recommend it highly specially for fretlless bass. Got me the sound I want
So this or the Joyo American Sound??
Beginner question here... did you put the trs from the pedal straight to the audio interface?or shoud i use xlr? Thanks in adavnce..
@David Ryan thank you very much! :D
Are you using a passive or active bass bro?
passive
is this good direct to mix? no more amp?
Is this pedal a Bass Preamp?
What baseline is that?
Is the mix knob same as blend?
Yes
I bought thisvpedal and the settings make absolutely no difference. I'm sending it back.
Yea that drive sounds like a fart haha it's not really subtle, just from slight clean boost to blarp in a micro meter of a turn, but definitely seems decent for a preamp for sure, I just hope that you do the press pass by caline as well because they have the mid knob as well and I'm curious to see how the drive is on that as well
I feel like the press pass comes up unintentionally fuzzy
@@WilDBeestMF they both fuzz out/fart blarp easily, this comment is really interchangeable for both pedals, I've seen all three of his vids, this one, the press pass and the comparison vid and man, let me tell you, when his wife (at least assuming it is) turns the knobs for the drive it takes almost no time to become a total distorted signal with the slightest turn, and it's also kinda sad to see that when Jo uses some of the guitar ODs on bass they actually sound pretty decent, like the one wolf pedal
@@ericpurvis2262 Oh yeah totally, dude. With a little EQ up their butts, a guitar OD can come up NICE on bass.
Caline do good stuff, that's true as the day is long. Their bass preamps don't really do it for me. Their range is minimal. What they do well, they do just fine however. Just not my thing.
@@WilDBeestMF that's for sure, they're good on a budget for EQ purposes but not for getting a good drive sound out of it, but one band local to my area, the bassist and singer uses a guitar sans amp for his bass as a preamp
@@ericpurvis2262 Man I'd use that too. It's insane. Also insanely expensive.
I have a sans amp, the Sans is obviously better but if you don't want to spend $250 plus tax on sans buy this one it's not far behind the sansamp @ $40 +/-.
Очень хорошо.
Wine Cellar, Behringer BDI or Joyo American? Looking for best over low - mid tone frequencies that can reach light dirt ( not fuzz ) thx in advance !
I'am a guitarrist, but the caline pedal looks more interesting because the xlr out
Try out the Behringer BDI , I just picked up this Caline Bass DI and the Overdrive on this pedal isn’t as good probably not what your looking for but hey it’s a cheap DI you get what you pay for right? Lol
The Behringer BDI has an issue with the power supply input failing. It will still work using a battery, but is a pain only running on battery and its chomps them too.
The Joyo American for classic vintage tube sound. By far the standout for that type tone. No XLR out though. Magic with Voice@ 9-10/ Drive@10-11.
@@airinbone thanks!
theres a volume drop 0:16
this or b factory?
Круто! 👍 👍 👍
Лучший обзор.
Man idk about the drive on this one. Also the Behringer drive sounds a bit pokey. I can’t afford the sans lol
Dr J. Sparrow 🤫
@@jobass Out of the three, the Sparrow is probably the closest "clone", but the Behri and the Caline both have a certain flavor to them.
High 3'oclock, Drive max'd. Ha ha!
I just got one of these and the Mix knob doesn’t seem to do anything until it gets to about 5 o’clock. And then it almost “clicks” on. This isn’t normal is it? Based on this vid, I think I got a bad one.
That click is a calling card of cheap pedals, lol. It goes away with use.
I went to a concert laſt night and þe baſs player had one of þeſe but he had it run into a crappy ſmall mic'd baſs amp inſtead of uſing þe XLR out to þe PA. Lol
Sem enrolação
Hi Sir,
Where'd you purchase the wireless 9v transmitter?
Nice nails ;?)
Does it come with the pretty nails too? Asking for my wife. 🤣
I really like your lady fingers.
DI boxes with drive but no speaker sim are a waste of time.
Has Drive, High and Low frequency, HF Harmonics, and Mix controls and boasts analog cabinet emulation circuitry. - Amazon
That is not strictly true. For guitar I would generally agree with that statement, but for bass it’s not the same. Lots of bass recordings are done using a DI rather than micing a cab. You would rarely do that with a guitar (the rhythm guitar on Pink Floyd’s Another Brick In The Wall is a rare exception). The drive on a DI unit like the Caline is perfectly usable in a recording situation, with a bit of appropriate compression and EQ. I have recorded using a Sansamp Bass Driver DI many times in order to get a good rock bass tone similar to that from an Ampeg SVT head. You don’t need to mic up a cab to get a good recorded bass sound and you don’t need to run it through a speaker emulator either even for driven bass tones.
Listening on phone, didn't get a great sense of range from the pedal other than it gets farty at higher gain as mentioned. Underwhelming.
good playing but a junk pedal
