I have a high efficiency Lennox furnace was installed by builder in over 150 homes in our community. 15 Years working fine. As long as you do annual maintenance and filter changes it should last a lot longer.

You can get an 80% AFUE Furnace with a two-Stage Inducer and two- stage gas valve. I have learned in my 21- years in the HVAC industry that the 80% Furnace will last roughly twice as long as the high efficiency furnace. I recommend the 80% as it’s the best value!

I just had a new system installed. I stayed with a standard system. The payback of a high efficiency system is not enough to justify for me

Congrats on your new system! I agree, the payback on the high efficiency systems is not justifiable.

Thank you very much for presenting such good information.
It seems that standard efficiency gas furnaces are not available nowadays. Are they still available in US and Canada?

You’re welcome. Yes, you can still buy standard efficiency furnaces here in the USA. I think in Canada too, not 100% sure though.
