you can tell by the black and white that this is in fact not bob odenkirk but gene takavic
Alpha Zalgo underrated.
Great catch!
Hahahaha...yo brain werx kewl
Perhaps the best comment on the whole Tubes. Well done.
Good one
Nobody's had more lines to remember in Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul than Bob Odenkirk lol.. That guy never shuts up
I imagine he probably adds a lot of improvised ones in to flesh it out. Which is not to diminish his work, quite the opposite in fact
He kinda stopped talking when Lalo visited him :D
Improvising brings out the best in you when you're on the spot.
@@annadrozdzynski529 Necessity is the mother of invention!
Well he is an attorney. Attorneys never shut up
"You just like…work constantly and then you'll be okay…and that's what I did."
- Gene, Manager of Cinnabon Omaha.
¡Don’t say anything! Get a lawyer you understand? ¡Get a lawyer!
Omaha? Was that in Omaha?
I used to hang around with Bobs' younger brother Phil, and his sister Laurie back when I was a teenager....He was a writer for SNL at the time, and I used to see him in shows in Chicago...He used to take us to Cubs games, and was a really great guy...Good memories of my times with the Odenkirks....He has a brother Steve, and sisters Maria, and Susan as well....That was 30 yrs ago...Glad he found so much success....He is from a good family...Naperville North graduate...
Awesome story 👍
Awesome life you must have lived man! Glad to see Bob is as awesome a person irl
Lucky man!
His brother Bill has also done a ton of great work on the simpsons!
crazy cool man!
*_Wait a minute...that´s not Kevin Costner!!!_*
whanowa 😂😂😂😂😂 nice reference
Yesterday he was!
have a few more drinks...then it will be.
Lol I JUST saw that episode! XD
He was... Last night.
Saul became one of my favorite characters ever due to this man's great performance.
I haven't watched too many of these videos, however I greatly appreciate that the host of this show isn't like any other host that you'll normally see for interviews. He's quiet and allows the people he invites to actually tell their story. No ridiculous jokes, no cheap form of an advertisement. He just let's them come and speak their mind. And when he does open his mouth, it's friendly or intellectual. Unfortunately we live in a generation where great hosts, channels, and people like this are slow to gain fame, because the people of our geeration love the ridiculous and annoying interviews that are so commonly seen. But these are the true treasure to watch. Don't change a single thing. These videos are fantastic.
if you like these type of interviews... the old school format less joke and more knowledge...there is a classic called :inside actor's studio" by the legendary James lipton
+UncontainablePickle I agree. His interview style reminds me of Terry Gross from NPR's "Fresh Air" who is also awesome.
also WTF with Marc Maron is pretty good, once you skip past his ramblings and plugs in the beginning. He gets people to really open up.
Plus, he's really there with Bob.
Many TV "interviews" are staged in front of a green screen. The "interviewer" gets a list of questions that the actor has already answered & they pretend they're asking those in real time.
This seems to be an American thing. I've always hated late-night talk show hosts from the USA. Their egos are too big to interview others and they want to be the star of their show. Watch Graham Norton work - he's great. He plays the role of a host perfectly, interjecting sparingly to keep the show flowing but also keep the energy and spirit high.
underrated actor.
Undderated? By who? You've got the wrong actor.
By who? The dude won all kinds of acclaim for Breaking Bad and it's only gone up since he STARRING in his own show.
The guy worked with Spielberg, Streep and Hanks recently. He's hardly "underrated".
Really? What's his rating?
How his underated?? Lmao 🤣🤣,
@@Turrican60 he’s underrated in terms of awards is what he meant this man has deserved an Emmy since 2015 and he’s lost every year by actors I haven’t even heard of and I knew Bob as an actor before I knew what BrBa and BCS were.
Better Call Saul is the best Prequel by far I've ever seen. It's amazing how well they created the histories of all these great characters and how perfectly they are evolving into their Breaking Bad selves. I wish more prequels were this well done. I hope they take this much care with the Game of Thrones prequel series.
The fact that they are trying to do 5 just tells me they are in it for the money and not the content. There's no way they could take their time with that.
@@Aaron-fe6le maybe if you realized how far back in the timeline better call Saul's goes, you wouldn't be saying that. They still make bank off of breaking bad alone, money is far from the motive lmao.
The crazy, mind blowing thing is that it’s not actually a prequel to Breaking Bad, it’s a prequel to Mr. Show
@@da1uheardabt He's not even talking about Better Call Saul, he's talking about the GOT prequels. Did you just skim his comment and then rush off to reply? Try reading what people actually say next time if you're going to reply.
Definitely "LMAO" though.
@@Vichedges you tried so hard.

Damn didn't know they had Internet in Hell.

It was clear watching Breaking Bad how committed Bryan Cranston was to his craft, I think the advice he gave to Odenkirk is great for anyone who wants to do anything.
no one can yell "goddammit" quite like this man
Yes! God *clips mix * DAMMIT
NO YOU CAN'T, YOU SUCK AND YOU'RE WASTING MY TIME.
Kaitlin Olson from IASIP is pretty good at it
Didn't know God's last name is "dammit".....sad
My grandpa knows how to yell goddammit really well
Bob Odenkirk is a fucking genius actor. It's so sad that he's not taken more seriously. He is such a capable actor.
Bob is so great.
His character, his acting. Jimmy is a sad aspiring lawyer whos brother hates him very much and its the depressing vibe we can emphatize with the lead character just like what Walter is. And Saul is like that smart mouth who is really funny.
It's interesting how Bob got the advice to just show up and work, learn the lines, eat whatever is available/made by the crew etc because these elements show up in the show. If I could fault Jimmy for many things it certainly isnt the ability to work his ass off for better or worse. He is always working things...figuring things out, scheming, lawyering the shit out of cases. I always admired that about the character...just pushes on and keeps going.
“Just work constantly and then you’ll be ok” -Bob Odekirk
I like that he asked Bryan that question. It shows a level of humbleness but also a desire to understand what it took for Bryan to bring that level of skill to the screen, and to know whether that was something he could commit to.
It’s weird seeing him not as snappy as his character or his stand-up persona
To us all, it ain't magic, just hard work. Great story/advice.
“I once convinced a lady that I was Kevin Costner”
Cool username
"because i believed it"
lol I expected Bryan's advice to be some wise, sagely proverb. Reality: "just literally work all the time and you're good".
Wich is kinda the point of life , really , which is fucked up because were so used to praise the idea of not having to work / think of work as not something you like
Bob is great in both comedy and drama, love the guy.
Sam Jones is one of the best interviewers I've ever heard. He really brings a lot out of people. Great interview.
+jones
Lol, he annoys me a little bit more every time i hear him
Sam does a great job of teeing up questions and not making the interview about himself. That's a huge departure from late night shows.
bullmilk
i agree with this though.
+Wal Nuts dude. he's barely present in his interviews. he allows people to speak for themselves. This seems to be almost a lost art with interviewers. He's incredible.
Leah Carnevale
Lol I guess I'm picky but sometimes his personality is over the top and annoying
Bob is perfect for Jimmy/Saul. couldnt ever see anyone else playing him.
Bob Odenkirk is a genious.

I love Bob. He's always been funnier than hell and he's always a great addition to a cast, imo.
Wow, no wonder Bryan is such an amazing actor; deifniely one of the best of out time!

Makes you think though, its not all in talent. Its in perseverance. Look at that effort. He doesnt rest at all. And by that he gets I think 4 emmys as best actor. Just wow!
Yeah, and both of those guys had bit parts on Seinfeld.
The old Junk Man from B.B. did, too.
lol yea TV Kramer
I liked the multidimensional character of Saul the best. Masterfully performed.
It’s a busy life as an actor but hey if you’re gonna work for something special you gotta give it your all. The audience doesn’t know the technical aspect of producing a product and working long hours- they just see the final product. But as an audience member and having acting experience I truly appreciate the grind.
Bob's a really smart guy. All of his interviews are fascinating.
The hard work shows in the finished product. Love Better Call Saul.
Completely agree.
I've been hesitant to watch BCS because I've been afraid it'll be a let down after Breaking Bad, but I finally started watching it. Almost finished with both seasons. It's excellent.
People always talk about it being slow, but i enjoy the talking, it manages to stay interesting
Other than throwing light on Bob (who is a FANTASTIC actor by the way), this interview really brings out Bryan Cranston's dedication for his job when Bob recites his conversation with him. Really tells one about how successful series like these involve immense hardwork down from the lighting guy to the lead actor himself/herself.
Awesome stuff. Bob is spectacular in BCS.
Agreed. More than I expected! Season 2 was even better than the first. So glad we have this show!
And in BB.
K Shove and in Mr Show. Started to watch the ones I missed back in the 90s on amazon prime and even back then you can see his talent in playing so many different characters.
Bob is the most charismatic person ever
I LOVE this show. Such a warm and unpretentious host.
Such a humble person and good actor.
I hope people are sharing this channel. I cant believe I just now came across this. These conversations are so inspiring to people who may want to be actors. This gives a very real look into how things really are and that these people are just trying to make it like the rest of us.
He’s an amazing actor
"..I'm gonna lead this....ya know, army..."
I loved that seemless correction.
love this talented man.
BCS needs more episodes per season
+ktxed season 2 was meant to have 12 episodes, but they came up with 10. Btw the 3rd season finale and the first two episodes are already written.
While I agree with that view, it may have been the decision of the writers to only do 10 per season so far. From their experiences working on Breaking Bad, they may believe that it's better to shorten the seasons than to have to stretch certain ideas out into 20 or so episodes per season
Jordan I completely agree
Season six will have 13 episodes and it will be the final season of Better Call Saul.
10 was MORE than enough for Season 5.
Wow.
But the final Season 6 could have 26 and I will still be wanting more
God, I love bob. Seriously one of all time favorite characters ever is Saul. He’s such a natural actor. his charisma is contagious!
He is a genius. I absolutely love his character
Mr Odenkirk, there was no other character I could have liked more than yours.
A dialogue of yours is, "Man is a wordsmith" with reference to Jesse, but the dialogues you had were pure art, so engaging and no one could have done those better.
And your voice is cherry on top.
Bob is bringing the same level of dedication that Bryan did. It shows in the performance. I really want him to get the shiny trophies.
the same principles apply in being a success in every aspect of life, as Bob implied FOCUS + DISCIPLINE + WORK = SUCCESS
Fucking genius, fantastic actor! Every single scene that he plays always has more than what we actually see!
Great and detailed interview! So looking forward to Season 3!
His talent and hard work, along with the rest of the crew, shows on BCS. The show was nothing short of excellently well put together.
Bob Odenkirk! Loved you in cable guy.
As they say, The harder I work, the luckier I get.
BrBad and Saul seem to have the hardest working people in the business. The scripts and actors are just great.
Saul Goodman is hilarious; almost every line he had was funny. I credit that to Mr. Odenkirk's great performance.
It’s funny, I’ve heard a similar story about the importance about learning your lines from Robert Downey Jr.; I think the secret to a lot of these great actors is one simple fact - they work really, really hard.
it's amazing someone so smart and creative would still ask for pointers. love bob so much
Wow I'm sooo glad I clicked on this & stuck with it to the very end to hear Bryan Cranston's advice: know your lines, study at lunch & then have someone get you dinner. This is so meaningful, you guys are doing really excellent & important work there. I hope you continue doing this forever.
This is the better form of interview, just talking, no promotion.
You have struck gold this is brilliant content continue your efforts they do not go unnoticed
Better Call Saul is my favorite show right now!
Brilliant actor, nothing else to say.
It's much easier to motivate yourself to work even on your time off when you enjoy your work and what you are working for.
BCS is one of my favorite shows on Netflix!
Thanks for this show, Sam. Really, thanks.
I'm so happy for Bob Odenkirk and for those who discovered him. I have every episode of Mr. Show on VHS lol I had the biggest crush on him 20 years ago, still do.
You should just like me!! I have every episode of Mr Show on VHS and had the biggest crush on him too. I'm so happy more people know who he is and can enjoy his humor as much I do ❤
I just realized I responded to a comment I made a year ago. I'm not deleting lol 😂😂😂😂
I've loved Bob O since Mr. Show and I'm so happy to see such a fantastic writer and comic get the chance to play the lead in a drama.
what a legend
Best series of 2020 that’s for sure
Great interview, I love to Bob.
That "one day..I'm gonna be number 1" made me laugh so hard. Very much his humor to notice that and mock it hilariously.
Saul, Walter, Bob and Bryan never suffered from a shortage of work ethic.
they're both fantastic
Just found your show. Loving it!
I refuse to believe that this channel didn't have millions of subs. But then again I've always felt alone in my circles as I am on IMDb the second I watch a movie or show trying to figure out "how I know that person" and I'm always acting like every commercial is a live game show and whoever guessed the voice of the spokesperson is. So that kinda explains why more people care about the performances of actors than learning their method to craft
What a legendary character and lovely actor
This is a very honest interview! Thank you Bob Odenkirk!
Does anyone else notice that Bob Odenkirk is becoming Bruce Willis?
well he's already got Kevin Costner down cold :D
Kevin W That's because HE believes he's Kevin Costner.
Docktor Jim I didn't think that but now that you said it... xD
Bruce Willis wishes
I love that guy. Amazing actor
Bob is great in everything he's been in
Bob rocks...he's so good as Saul Goodman...very underrated.
Bryan Cranston is the best actor in the world.
I first noticed Bob Odenkirk when he played a older small town sheriff on Fargo. Curiously, I did not watch Breaking Bad until after I had watched several seasons of Better Call Saul - so I as just moving right along with the story.
.
great interview. subscribing ☺
+Dimitri Bitu me too
he has been great in this role
What a tremendous actor.
Wonderful advice!!
It's weird when I watch all these old sitcoms and I see Bob Odenkirk or Bryan Cranston on them. Bob Odenkirk played a friend of Ray Barone's on Everybody Loves Raymond and Bryan Cranston was Tim Watley, the dentist on Seinfeld. It seems to me that these guys were trying to make it in the industry for many years. I'm glad that they finally got their due. 😀
Omg!! Thank you for this!!
Brian Cranston explained how hard he had to work to make his performance look so effortless... got it!
Terrific character he played here nailed it
Fantastic advice
damn, it's crazy to think how much these actors work for their roles. i mean, it shows, but you wouldn't think that they have to work their ass off to get into character because it looks so natural.
He was quite a prolific writer for the various TV shows and won awards too. Impressive.
The best part is the show's only gotten better tan Odenkirk is *crushing it*. BCS is one of the best spin-offs of all time and would be stellar in it's own right.
Bob is really good at his job!
Bob is immensely talented, both in comedy and now in DRAMA...
I have to watch all the full versions now :P
There are a lot of interviews with Bob out there and I think you can tell whether he enjoys the talk (just like this one where he's open and funny) or just wants to leave 😅
This dude just is Saul.
ah, this is a great conversation!
The Emmys deserve a Bob Odenkirk
Whoever this interviewer is did a fantastic job.
Saul was always my favorite
Wow. This interview was way too short
+Ian LeGallo-Malone So there will be more? I hope so because it was pretty interesting
+starbuck4774 go to the channel's web site or their Soundcloud for the full interviews
kazoosc oh thanks
