Some tips I'd like to share that are not mentioned but shown in the video (if that makes sense 😆) :
    - Try other resources besides Pinterest. While Pinterest has a lot of good photos, there are times that, for me, wanting the photo in a different angle or a bigger/wider view of the picture (especially drawing scenes and urban sketching). Check the description for the resource she used!
    - Try to sketch with anything other than a graphite pencil. Graphite pencils are great but they do encourage erasing, as they are a very easy medium to erase. It may be a bit intimidating but using other materials such as inking tools and color pencils to sketch, can help to be mindful of putting marks.
Anyways, lovin' your videos sm! Very chill and informative. 💛✨

Wowwww tysm for sharing these!!! Its so nice you found these reflections from my work that I didn't see!
Yes I love using street view because it gives a more realistic view. A lot of artists prefer 'bad' photos bc it gives you an opportunity to actually improve on the reference as opposed to copyig something thats already good!
Wrt using different materials: this definitely helps in getting the creative juices flowing!
Perhaps I'll have to use these tips on a future video along the lines of how to inspire creativity!
Thanks so much for watching and I hope my content will continue to be useful!

the pencil thing is not always true. I love drawing/sketching with a pencil. and I NEVER erase. I basically treat the pencil as if it was a fountain pen. there is just something special about the friction I get from graphite pencil. I just love it.

@@albertogonzalez2203 to each their own! Its also cool to see the construction lines of a drawing underneath the final. My comment is more relating to using pencil and then constantly rubbing out which some beginners may be prone to doing (which makes it harder to progress). Jumping straight into ink removes that daunting feeling of making a permanent mark.
Having said that, these days I'm using pencil to get my perspective right for some drawings!

really like your style of drawing! totally agree about limiting drawing space: i mostly draw sticky-notes size sketches just using a regular pen during a break at work. happily subscribing to you

These tips are awesome! something I’ve found helpful for myself is basically scheduling art time into my routines. The days that I know I have longer breaks/a lighter work schedule, i just plan ahead and think in advance about some things I might want to draw in that break and having that routine has helped me consistently draw several times a week

Great tips. Thank you. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Re making time for art, the biggest difference in my life was, after several starts, finally completing a 100 day sketch challenge. Only two rules: sketch every day AND for a MINIMUM of six minutes. Once I finally made day 100, I kept on going. My "rules" have changed to "doing art" versus just sketching. "Doing art" for me could include plein air, setting up palettes, doing watercolor on a sketch I did on a previous day, playing with color, or sketching. I'm on track for making two years in October. I personally get very stubborn when I have a streak going. But I also don't dare stop. I know how capable I am of making art less of a priority. Because of perfectionism issues, I didn't do any art for over ten years.

Eileen, thanks for watching and sharing your story. I am also looking to apply the same philosophy: doing anything creative is ART! Its ok if I do digital one day and urban sketching the next. Thank you for validating this msg for me!
Very inspiring to hear your breakthrough and I wish you all the best!!! You got this!
