Good detailed video, love the GBX 100 having the all black version. The best two features are the MIP display and the vibration alerts. Looking forward for Casio to do a multi band 6, solar and metal version, hopefully, in the future.
Hi there thanks for the great video, one of the best and most informative on this model. I want to love the GBX 100 but there are a few features that don't agree with me. Generally speaking there are a few design flaws, as you highlighted. But what I personally don't like is that the countdown timer is only up to 1 hour (five times). I know where they're coming from, because this model was originally intended for fitness. But now I basically need an app to program 5 countdown times in a row, etc. It is an outstanding looking watch with great features and that gorgeous display but IMO lacks in terms of functionality and practicality. And yeah, no hourly chime, too bad.
Hi FF, yeah, I have to agree. It's not a perfect watch however I'd definitely consider myself as a light user, plus that screen makes up for so many shortcomings. Hopefully this is the starter version 1.0 for them to build on for future watches
I'd say it does well. It picks up some slight scratches. It's got a brushed finished to it so small light scratches are hard to see. I've been lucky enough not to get any deep marks on mine yet
If this watch had tough solar it would give my gw-b5600 a run for its money. My ocd kicks in when I see the seconds counter in the main screen, but I guess I could get used to it.
Oh man, I'd be all over that bad boy Raul. That may be the perfect time piece. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed it's in the works. I have to ask about the seconds? What's that? Do you do the thing where you have to stare at them until a new minute starts? I have a buddy who does that
@@MoorlanderEDC Lol no I can do a quick look no problem. I dont like the seconds being under the minutes, Iook weird to me, I which all the counters would be at the same level. I guess they did it that way so the hour and minutes could be bigger and more easy to see.
I've got a 5600 which looks good on wrist but the display is frickin terrible and so hard to read ..I use the light to see it which is ridiculous.....I've just ordered this watch...saw it in a shop and the display is excellent!! Thanks for your review. You nailed it
Hi John, thank you for the kind words buddy. The screen on this definitely takes these watches to the next level. I'd love to hear your thoughts when yours arrives. All the best buddy
I wish the casioak had some kinda tide display. Or that this had analog hands...obviously it would hinder the info displayed. Maybe digital hand display mode. Sounds cheezy. It's just aesthetic
Hi Clarence. I think that would be tough to get on that tiny display but they could use the small hand indicator to the left of the face. Simply showing high tide, low tide and the hand moves between the two. I hope to see way more faces use this display. It's so much better
Hi again! 😁 I am looking for a new watch, and you seem to review all of my favourites. ☺ Two questions: does it display the caller id when there's an incoming call? And is there a timed silent mode for the notifications in the settings? For example for the night when I don't want the watch to beep or vibrate when someone texts me. Thanks a lot, mate.
Hello again. I hope you're well BagiLaci. I have to admit I've never used the notification feature. From what I've found online the watch should show who's calling on the screen, however I can't find anything about a timed silence. The 'smart' features are relatively simple on here. There may be a way you could set that via your phone however I'm not sure if they would transfer over to the watch. My only thought would be if you can power down your Bluetooth when you set your phone's night time mode. That way your watch wouldn't be connected and then would reconnect in the morning I hope that helps buddy
Oh wow! I love this color on the Casio. Those are beasts. I'm pretty bummed out that I forgot about my Casio, if course the battery died and when I replaced it, I couldn't set the time and date. I reached out to Casio and they told me to send it out, but the process was so complicated in my brain that I haven't done it yet. Hopefully it's fixable because they don't make that model anymore. It's a G8100 and it's currently a beautiful paperweight 😭.
Alysha Campo If you haven't, try opening the case back and doing a module reset after replacing the battery. You will see that the clock will start working perfectly. Setting the clock will be a breeze afterwards. If you don't know how to reset the module you can search the forums (Casio reset module AC +) and you will find the answer ... Best regards Jacklab
Hey Alysha, the colour really sold this watch to me. I'm a bit of a magpie when it comes to certain things. That's definitely a strange issue you have with you watch. Hopefully Jacklabc4's suggestion might help you out. I had to Google the G8100. That's a very different style of GShock I've never seen before On a separate note, could you drop me an email at MoorlanderEDC@Gmail.com? Nothing dodgy I promise... I may have a surprise for you 😀 (Pinky promise it's not dodgy - 100% family safe)
I own the GBD-200 sibling of land sports and I have to admit it's a blast. The display is absolutely outstanding. A great update from Casio. I have no problems with the settings and the connection with the phone works perfectly. I love the fact that I can change the batteries and lubricate the caseback gasket, which I do regularly on my watches, even vintage ones. I have no complaints, like some, that it should have a solar or multiband 6 panel. It's okay with me, too at a good price. A great watch for everyday use and a very successful design. High score with flying colors, for me. But as we know not everyone can be satisfied and there will always be someone who finds a problem, but after all the world is beautiful because it is varied, otherwise it would be boring 😊
Thanks buddy. I've been meaning to respond to your email. I have a lot of questions to ask about the GBD-200. I'll message you back after work tonight 👍 Hope you had a great weekend
Hi Adrian. If you use the app on your mobile phone it will show where you've ran on your phone. You do have to bring your phone with you though. I hope that helps my friend
Hey Nicholas, you've just engaged my curiosity sensors as I've been a Seiko fan from a distance (as I haven't owned one yet) as well as I've always been curious about day to day like with a mechanical watch. I'd certainly love to talk more about this. If you're on Instagram or Facebook I'd love to message more, or you can email me at MoorlanderEDC@Gmail.com I love a good watch geek chat ✊
Hi Juan. I forgot to mention that sorry. It's good. I keep it turned off to save battery. It does a great job at switching on when you raise your wrist. It suffers sometime but for 95% of the time. I hope that helps buddy
Hi AA, Hmmmmm... Not sure my friend. Really yiud need the app for them to talk. If there was a way of porting over the app then maybe, however they specifically say Android and iOS
You made a simple error You said watch was made in japan Then you showed caseback and it clearly states that it is made in Thailand I love the watch myself I have one and it gets a lot of wrist time
Hi Gabriel. Yes, not my finest moment 🤣 if my high school English teacher was still alive, she'd have a few choice words on my reading skills. Thanks for watching buddy. I hope you're well
The tide and sunrise/set function makes this watch useful for photography/videography etc also.
I can completely understand this. Nothing worse than waiting around for the tide to come in or out, or waiting for the sun set 😆 Thanks for watching
