First off all... If sales people were honest then they would tell you not to buy diesel car is your driving style and journeys are not good enough for it.... Second of all if it's too late and you got it already then please at least once a week for on motorway and do a good 20 minutes run at least. When it's already too late and you got light on then buy a dpf cleaner and put it in your fuel tank and then go on motorway and do 3000rpm for at least 10min. Because it needs to get to high temperature before it actually starts cleaning all the crap off. If it helps then I got more help for you on my channel with over 170 mechanical videos ;)
You are right. But considering fuel consumption it is the chipest way to drive long and pay far les then gasoline. I,ve been using gasoline cars for more then 20 years but recently bought disel to save money.
Why when regenerating with VCDS the little dpf icon appears in the bottom right corner of the dashboard? When the engine regenerates normally there isn’t any icon. Is there a way to code it?

STATIC FORCED REGENERATIONS ARE NOT ADVISED DUE TO EXTREME HOT TEMPERATURES THAT BUILD UP AND CAN DAMAGE BODY PAINT AND CAVITY WAX FROM THE BODY FLOOR STRUCTURES!
So far all I have had to do is simply drive the car for a few miles at higher revs and it has cleared. I think it is time to use some DPF cleaner in my fuel too. Glad to hear any good ideas also. Thank you.

I think not. it is used in exceptional cases. for example, when automatic firing is blocked due to some malfunction. after removing the malfunction, it must be burned as an emergency. or during some service operations, the filter must first be burned. nie som odborník. myslím že nie. používa sa to pri výnimočných prípadoch. napríklad ked je kôli nejakej poruche zablokovane automatické vypalovanie. po odstránení poruchy treba takto núdzovo vypáliť. alebo pri niektorých servisných úkonoch treba najprv vypáliť filter.

I tried doing this on my 06 plate mk 5 golf tdi 170 dpf. using VCDS 18.9 .However unlike your Security code appearing when cursor is over enter code box.All I get is a message saying (Prior to adapting a new used ECU /PIN/SIC has to be entered.,It goes on to say that pin can be found on key tag.Or to contact dealer...Any ideas how to bypass this so I can gain entry to security access..
I think you need to have paid for, and have spare new VIN's.......that being the case I think you have to add the car as a new registration to access advanced settings.
calculated is calculated via km. if soot calculated if it is more than 60g only regeneration while driving. if is soot calculated up to 80g regeneration is prohibited. there is a risk of fire
I've just had this on a 1.9 bls it would not auto regen i had to go in to engine and coding II and type in 21295 forced driving regen keep above 16 mph and below 36 mph i had to enter the code 3 times but keep going til its at leased 10% if you don't have vcds then get obd eleven pro that will do it
dont shut off like that with the high temperatures, you'll kill the turbo if you do that repeatedly, you need to let it cool down 15 minutes , eventually drive it for half an hour.

Bonjour, J’ai démonté la vanne et nettoyer avec du white spirit et enlever la crasse calaminé (c’était bien bouché) … J’ai bien nettoyé pour enlever toutes les crasses mais Je n’ai pas démonté l’admission juste nettoyer son entrée et l’entrée de la durite. J’ai nettoyé la sonde lambda au nettoyant frein et changer 3 capteurs (pression suralimentation, gaz et oxygène). J’ai fait une vidange complète avec tous les filtres… Mais j'ai toujours le voyant fap, moteur et préchauffage clignotant allumé sur le tableau de bord. Faut-il autre chose svp Décrasser le fap chez un spécialiste ? changer le débitmètre ? Etc… Je sais plus quoi faire…

If you have the dpf filter light on, and the coil light flashing also engine management lights on, you need to get out of limp mode ask a garage it's a 30 second job to take the engine management light off, now you ain't limited drive the car in high revs drive it like you stolen it, it just took me 120 miles in 3rd gear doing 70 mph then I had to slow down in traffic, I did 4000 revs in 2nd gear for 20 seconds i booted it getting fed up with it, got in 3rd gear took it to almost 100 mph bingo the light went out, 👍I didn't use any cleaners just made sure I had a full tank of fuel normal diesel, not the expensive stuff, I'm confident with the car now I can clear the issue up myself, it would help if a light came on when it's doing a regeneration so we don't turn the engine off so the soot builds up anymore than it already has,

Drove interstate for 20-30 minutes when I parked it began clicking like a typewriter.. Lights still on. I feel like this video suggests I could sit in my car in neutral and let it idle at 2500rpms for 30 minutes... Idk... Calling the a stealership tomorrow.. Unless I get pointers on reddit or RUclips tonight..
@@nopewho1531 sorry for late reply, the sound could have been the heat shield cooling down, try to keep it in low gear and sit on that speed 70 + the light should go out on it's own, your in an automatic I take it, drive the car bud don't let it sit on 2000 rpm going nowhere, put strain on the engine without going to crazy , it takes about 80 miles to get hot, then when driving you will feel it working, the engine feels rough, I rest mymfopt on the clutch and you can feel the vibrations, now I've found another way that you don't need to wait for the light to come on, when you pull up and the revs are high just under 1000 rpm, take the car out for that 80 mile drive come home revs have gone down to normal , I haven't seen the light now in over 1000 miles . Good luck let me know how you get on with this issue mate, Ps... mine got better after an oil change and an new fuel filter ,
this it s very Dangerous and wrong , u should start when engine it s in normal temperature and then drive above 2500rpm and soot burns quickly then hier , if anyone read this , don t shut engine right away even it the procedure has ended , the entire engine cool slower then dpf down , and u shut it down incorectly , the soot measures value goes to -9 and soot calculator drop between 3 and 5 , tested on my car and the difference it s noticeble , sensors are sensors and that data it s informative and not 100% accurate , besicaly you burned not all
I drove my 2016 golf 7 gtd on the motorway to regen. It was done after a few miles. Drove for another 30 miles then parked. Came back 2 hours later started the car, then red coolant alert appeared. Opened the lid to see water blown off. When? How? Why? Added ~300-400ml water to get back home. Got home coolant level in range ok. Left the engine to cool down for 2h then started it to see the temperature gauge showing 90C on cold/warm engine. Next morning, all good. Any ideas?

try to scan the engine with a scan tool and write the codes that you get to us .
