Glad to hear! It gets tough to juggle RUclips and actually contracting but I’ve been trying extra hard with this project to try and keep up with the RUclips side of things!
Yea wee build a little different most off our construction is mason , concrete block and a brick / render finish. But more and more new developments are being built in timber frame ..
@@jameskeys1896 very cool! I studied abroad in Germany in college. Wasn’t into building construction at the time but I do remember the methods being different.
I prefer acoustical sealant but getting my hands on it wasn’t working for this build. So I figured that ultima or Osi quad would be the next best option. Most people around here use neither and just really on the sill seal.
The bank that you see is a limestone foundation. On the inside of the existing basement it has been underpinned. It’s really solid the way it is now so we should be good to go. If it ever became an issue we would underpin the addition side as well.
Yes, not as great as a rotary laser. But it will shoot a level plane as well. The issue with the level plane on the layout station is that it is directional. So you have to position the laser so it shoots in the correct direction.
Nice video. Thanks for sharing
good job on the (necessary) sill prep. and layout.....
What a fantastic job of detailing the process! That layout station is quite the tool! How much does something like that set you back?
I believe they run about $1600. It’s really handy for jobs that have a lot of steps to make sure everything stays square.
Loving this series, I started my own remodeling buisness in January and have been really enjoying your channel. Keep up the great work!

@@TheRealBeardedBuilder Ya I bet! Thanks for the time you do spend on it.
Great content from your viewer in Ireland 🇮🇪
Awesome! I assume you guys build a little differently but maybe a little the same?

The Germans are wayyyyy ahead when it comes to construction you should take a look at huf haus amazing way to build a house
@@jameskeys1896 I’ll check it out!
One of a handful of times a cordless caulk gun is priceless.
do you prefer that caulking over acoustical sealant?

What is going to keep that bank from caving in under the existing house?

@@TheRealBeardedBuilder I would probably skim it with mortar atleast to lock it together and smooth it up. May help keep that basement cleaner too
Dose the layout stations do levelling as well
