I wanna thank Ken & Roberta Williams for sponsoring this entire trip. It would not have happened without their support! Play the new Colossal Cave v2.0 on Steam: bit.ly/3PSzc3M
Well done Can someone sponsor me to go to Japan
I just played the game, it is actually fun...
Your videos are a literally therapeutic/coping tool for me. Thanks for the details and consistency. I wake up relaxed on Friday, knowing that there will be an MJR video to enjoy with a coffee.❤🤘🤘 many thanks!
It is so cool to me that Ken & Roberta sponsored this video. Ken, Roberta, and Sierra overall represent a lot of happy memories from my childhood, and your videos have always tapped back into those happy memories for me. Knowing that Ken & Roberta are sponsoring your channel makes it all the better.
Very cool episode
when you said its been 4 YEARS since youve last been to japan it made me realize how quickly time has gone by lol
I know, right?
I was just looking at the food in the old video, I wanted to see if I could make it.
@@MetalJesusRocksI know I watched your video, but damn time has passed really fast :o
Damn! time really flies fast when you're gaming a lot
Same reaction when he said that! I've been watching the channel for so long that I've actually moved to the Seattle area from Nebraska since I started. Hoping to run into you sometime, MetalJesus! Thank you for all the great videos over the years (I live in Bremerton so I went to Big Red's as soon as I got here).
OMG KINSEY! Miss her so much! Hope she posts more in her channel. Good to see you guys having fun together again.
Absolutely incredible. MJR, you're top notch at being a Tour Guide.
Wow, thanks!
A NEW JAPAN VIDEO!? Yes! I can't tell you how many times I watched the previous ones. I want to go to Japan so bad, it's our next 5 year goal.
Do it man you wont be disappointed, I went back in January and tickets were very cheap $580 round trip on Delta. Hotels were also very affordable Richmond suidobashi was $60/night and ones in osaka and kyoto were even cheaper. Can absolutely do it on a budget if you play your cards right.
@@schassismx3115 580 goddamn thats the cheapest flight ive ever heard
@@b00tybu77chks that was really the main reason me and my friends went. We were discussing it for years and when we saw the tickets we just booked it and made it happen. This was during the off season it was freezing over there so not too many tourists. I’d say Jan-march are probably the cheapest months to go.
@@schassismx3115 that's nuts! We will definitely have to look into that!
@@kcadventures1454 I heard there was recent price increases on the Japan rail pass I paid $280 I believe for 7 days and that’s how I went from Tokyo to Osaka and kyoto. Definitely plan your itinerary accordingly, also use trains for everything the cabs add up very quick. Good luck 🙏
Oh wow MJR, looking forward to this series. I hope to visit Japan someday.
You should! The US dollar makes it worth it cuz everything is like 30% off.
@@MetalJesusRocks Ahh MJR, I'm from Canada so I think everything will cost 40% more. 😂
Dude this is SO FLIPPIN' cool! Thakns so much for sharing this incredible adventure. I'm going to Japan in a couple years and so stoked to visit some of these places!
THIS is what I've been waiting for! I love your travel series and particularly Japan! My travelling days are pretty much over but I've never been to Japan and so it's awesome to go there vicariously through you!
So many cool things to see and eat in Japan! Looking forward to the next parts of this series, looks like you all had a phenomenal time 🙂 🇯🇵
Such a dope video! Visting Japan has been on my bucket list since i was a kid! You and your wife are such a awesome couple! always having fun!
I absolutely can't wait for part 2. You are doing Japan exactly the way I hope to someday. Rock on !
So excited to go on this journey with you again, can’t believe it’s been four years since watching the last trip! As much as I enjoy retro gaming, I love how your holiday videos aren’t just about that but show the culture, food, history and other aspects of the trip! Can’t wait for the next one.
So cool! I head to Japan for my first trip in a couple weeks and while anxious to get out of my comfort zone I'm extremely excited just to take it all in.
You are going to have a great time!! ENJOY!
YES! Another MJR Japan video! It's been awhile!
This video was so great. I love learning about all those beautiful places. Really looking forward to the following videos.
I loved going back to your Japan trip videos every once in a while. Glad to see you went back, MJ!
I discovered your channel when you posted the original trip to Japan. It is crazy that it has been 4 years already. Keep up the good work, it is always a treat when there is a new video to watch.
Thank you so much!!
Your channel is the main reason I want to visit Japan so badly, and hit those stores!!
Thanks for taking us along on your trip, LOVE these videos. Thanks again and all the best to you Sir
I’m sooooooooooo pumped to watch this! I’ve honestly watched your other Japan vlog a couple times
Heck Yes! MetalJesus travel videos are my absolute favorite.
I love all your trip videos. This one was cool. Looking forward for more!
More to come!
So pumped to see the rest of the trip! So glad you guys made it back!!!
These trip videos are always a blast to watch! Love these!
These are my favourite! Nothing better than going on an adventure with you 🤘
(3:36). I feel you, MJR. I have taken various 8-10-hour flights from the U.S. to Italy and I can't knock out. I can sleep on a cold floor, but I can't fall asleep for more than 15 minutes on a flight.
Loved the video Jason! Thanks for taking us along on your trip to Japan by sharing this video. I would love to make it to Japan one day. Looks amazing!
Awesome video!! I love watching your trip vids! It feels like I’m right there with you visiting these cool places!!
I was there in Kyoto on Halloween 2016 and I spotted a Japanese Waldo. I told him “I found you” and he invited me for some sake at a local bar.
It felt like a side quest. Lovely people!
Another great video MJR. Love the travel vlogs of yours. I really love you're easy going demeanor. A lot of you tubers are overly excitable for my tastes, but you are and your wife are coolant as cucumbers 😂 can't wait for the rest of the series. God speed MJR 🙏
I appreciate that!
It's so awesome that I had your original video saved and we're finally going to Japan 4 years later! Both Tokyo and Kyoto. Thanks for sharing these recs. So excited to check some of these spots out!
Loved your previous Japan trip. Favourite series on your channel. I re-watched your previous trip twice already. Excited to see this new trip and broken up into separate vids!
I’m glad you showed all the daily slice of life stuff as well. It makes it much more personal and unique. Really loved the video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Friggin' love Japan. Can't wait to get back there.
Great content ! Can’t wait to see more.. thanks for sharing 😎
More trip journals! WOOHOO!! Love these vids. Looking forward to the other parts. ❤
Metal Jesus is such a lovely dude who's just an honest likable guy who never tries to be anything but himself..love these retro video's 👌
I think you might just have nailed why I'm such a big fan. Nicely done!
Man finally, Kinsey reunion!
That was such a pleasant surprise! I really enjoyed that. You look so refreshing with your hair cut and pulled back too. I am so looking forward to part 2!
LOVE YOUR TRAVEL VIDEOS!
thanks for taking us along!
Thanks for watching!
this is gonna be a good series! can't wait!
3,000 clips from the Japan trip! We did a LOT
Great video! Learning katakana wasn't very hard and it's a HUGE help when you're looking through the shelves.
Good to know!
Agreed. It takes just around a week to fully memorize all the katakana characters. For those who don't have the time to learn Japanese, learning just katakana can take you far.
I've watched this 3 times already because your videos are just so comforting and chill to have on lol
Love this, I'm looking forward to the next video!
game hunting? this is just a full day of eating in japan video 😂👍..I didn't expect such a low overall price level in japan especially not after the world wide post apocalyptic corona price mayhem happened! japan is also known for its "unusual" alcoholic baverages, just to say! cheers 🙏🙏
4 years already!!!?? Happy you went back. Nice to see Kinsey again.
You made it back! I remember you saying you wanted to go back! I'm so happy ya made it happen!
Great video MJ- Looking forward to the series! 👍🏼
Living vicariously. You rock! 🤘
I loved Japan, I was there maybe 6 years ago. My wife went there for 5 days for work so the kids and I went too. It was awesome walking around town and going to the mall. Then they all came down with a 104 fever, including my 1 year old. So most of the trip was spent with me, the only not sick one, taking care of the rest of the family :/ Definitely need to go back.
Dang its been 4 years already? Excited for this video!
Amazing video! Makes me want to visit Japan even more. Can't wait for the other parts!
The Kyoto video was very good and made me some nostalgic feeling as I was living around the area when I was young. Thank you so much…
Anyway the caption about the town on the way from Kyoto to Osaka, it said “Ibaraki Prefecture” but it was actually “Ibaragi City” that is a town in Osaka prefecture.
Ibaraki Prefecture is actually located at the North East of Tokyo next of Chiba more than 300km away from Kyoto….
The excitement I have when MJR uploads a new video is potentially unhealthy
That was a really great video. Looking forward to the rest.
The intro got me HYPED! Love these travel videos. Keep it up man!
Finally bro 🙌 😊❤
Welcome to Japan 🇯🇵😊
I have been living in Asia 4 years thanks to your original video 📹 😊
New Nintendo Museum being built!!!
awesome video! cant wait for part 2!
Awesome... Your trip looks like a lot of fun. Looking forward the other videos. 👍
Metal Jesus is big in Japan!
Metal Jesus and kinzie reunion is better than any video game release this year. This is a highlight. Thank you 🙏
Thank you for sharing, it all looks amazing!
Jason, so happy to watch this. I was in Kyoto back in May for our honeymoon, and I snuck off a few times while my wife relaxed at the hotel, and I found both of these stores you visited. I remember exploring the streets of Kyoto armed with google maps. Was lovely to retrace my steps through your own trip and it brings back special memories of our own trip. Look forward to the next part. Thanks - Matt
Thanks so much!! I appreciate it 🤘
Ironically, I just got back from Japan 2 weeks ago from not being there since 4 years myself. I only stayed in the Tokyo area but next I go, I want to venture out to Osaka and Kyoto.
Your Mother is a venture to Osaka and Kyoto.
@@iamatlantis1 was that suppose to be a joke?
Actually that noodle looking cake at Starbucks you ate was called “Mt. Blanc cake” in Japan. It was covered by cream made by mashed chestnut cream… not brown sugar cream. :)
I was completely surprised by it!! Super tasty...but why does it look like noodles?! 😂
@@MetalJesusRocks Google said this cake was originally created by Japanese patissie (cake maker) Mr. Sakota who was the founder of famous Cake shop in Tokyo : Jiyu-ga-oka Mont-Blanc in 1933 from his inspiration given by the view of Mt. Blanc when he was learning cake making in France… The original one already have those chestnuts cream noodle like texture but the top was covered by frost sugar representing the snowy peak of the Mt. Blanc…. As you know we Japanese are ultra health conscious today and cakes made today are much less sugar used…. so this cake also lost frost sugar topping I guess and exposing the noodle like cream structure….
This video is super fun! Can't wait for the next one 🕺💃
Dude, I freaking love your videos and how you put them together. And yes, I am also going to say that it is because of these types of videos that you share with us is the reason why I want to visit Japan. Peace, bro.
Yay another Gsme Hunting episode in Jspan, loved the first 2 back then, I'm a huge fan of Japanese Culture, Japanese Music And Japanese anime I'd love to go to Japan myself :)
You should definitely go!! Especially if you are a fan of anime and games, I can assure you that you will not regret it. By the way, I think you can find a lot of things you want in Japan, so it's a good idea to bring a lot of money with you Lol
haha noted, maybe i'll get to go someday @@Italiano282
Waiting for my wife to join me so we can see another great trip video from MJ. Can’t believe it’s been four years since the last Japan one.
Looks like you had a blast! Love the spots you checked out! Crazy seeing the city empty like that!
You really crush it with these travel videos, man
I was in Kyoto 8 years ago, I remember it every day.
I want to return to get some games and lot of metal \m/
I'm here for my homie Kinsey.
It was great hanging w/ Kinsey again. I miss her too.
I look forward to all of your travel videos with great excitement. You do a wonderful job of capturing the build environment, the culture, the food in all ways like convenient foods and wonderful meals in such a beautiful way. Plus! Of course, the video games, too :) Thanks!
been looking forward to watching this all day! stoked
Welcome to Japan 🇯🇵
Big in Japan
😂😂😂 How true! Love it! 😅
This video made my day. Thanks for making it. Love the travel series. Please do more.
MJR BACK IN JAPAN I CANT BELIEVE IT!! Ive watched the old Japan video like so many times over lol
Love your Japan series. Visiting and game hunting would be a dream, but the language barrier is intimidating for me. Obviously having someone bilingual sherpa you through the environment would solve this problem, but how much of an issue do you think it would be for your average American?
If all you were doing was going to the well-known tourist areas like Akihabara in Tokyo or Den Den Town in Osaka then you'll be fine, since the staff in the shops in those areas (Super Potato, Surugaya, etc.) are used to dealing with tons of foreign tourists. You can see in the video that when he went to the narrow Kyoto Surugaya, nearly every other customer was a foreign tourist as well. Be prepared to pay the tourist prices though. MJR paid nearly 9,000 yen for that copy of Saturn Dodonpachi when it's normally closer to 7,000 yen at non-tourist area stores.
If that’s why you went to Japan to buy video games that makes no sense you paid $4,000 to get there it would of been cheaper if you bought online and paid $20 for shipping with DHL the fastest shipping
Went to Japan for video games, stayed for the food, culture and sightseeing. 👍
Don’t forget he asked everyone for $50k for a usa road-trip and ended up going on vacation to Japan it’s all on Reddit under metal Jesus sucks
@@StonedMedicdumbest reply I’ve ever read you shouldn’t even reply it’s none of your concern why he went to Japan grow up kid
@@StonedMedicDon’t forget your not welcomed grow up kid
Hey Stone you completely make no sense don’t speak for others that you don’t live with
I love how happy you are together! Makes me smile :)
Wild I was just rewatching your old Japan compliation video. Now you give me more!! Enjoying the pace of this one.
Lol that toilet bit was hilarious 😂
Super awesome. Looking forward to seeing the other videos in this series.
These vlog/pickup vids in different parts of the world are some of my fav videos.
Isn't that weird! I've been susbscribed and watched this chanel for years now. And I was so happy to see this video because I just came back from Japan myself. I wa so excited to see it again. Those familiar places and all the awesome things about Japan.
Thanks again Metal Jesus for a total awesome video!
LOVE these videos! Can't wait for the rest of the series.
Glad you like them!
Every time I see footage from Japan it’s always so CLEAN! Everywhere! There’s just no trash anywhere!
My lady and I went to Japan for the first time in June and it was an amazing experience. I do wish we spent more time in each city but no matter how well you plan your trip, it’s never enough time to do it all. Can’t wait for the next trip in the future!
Awesome video!!!! I had so much fun watching it, thank you very much for sharing! Greetings from Colombia MJR team!
Awesome video ! MetalJesus Rocks all the way in Japan !
My favorite kind of video. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us.
More to come!
love these videos MetalJesus! Awesome to see your trips to Japan!
I swear to God, I was just rewatching the 2019 trip video a few weeks ago, had to do a double take when I saw this thumbnail! Awesome stuff!
These are the best videos on RUclips. I have been wanting to go and am slowly planning a trip to Japan, and MJR videos will be my guide for tips and tricks as well as game hunting!
WOOOOOO waited all year for this!! So stoked!! 🤘
Honestly these are some of my favorite videos that you upload which is saying a lot because every video you create is quality.
I always enjoy your travel videos. Looks so beautiful over there. Can’t wait to see the rest of the trip! ✈️🤘🏻
