Ingredients (1 serving) 1 banana 1/2 tbsp of honey 1 cup of milk Steps 1) Blitz together your banana and your honey for 2 minutes until it becomes a thick paste 2) add in your milk, then blitz for a further 2 minutes. 3) serve and enjoy!
For a further twist on an old fashioned banana milkshake you need to add a spoonful of good quality vanilla ice cream. I used to live beside the sea and in 1963 would watch Linda, the waitress make it that way. One banana, honey, really cold fresh full cream milk and the ice cream. Fabulous!
little tip, if your going to use a spoon for any Honey or Syrup measurements dip the spoon in sunflower oil first and all the Honey/syrup will go into your recipe and you wont taste the oil either.
I make my banana shakes with vanilla ice cream, a tad of honey and cinnamon, vanilla extract, milk and 2 bananas and it comes out real smooth and thick. So good
Inès Mariner maybe after blending it for 2 min it gets hot as hell, try this if you like coffee. 1 banana+1 or 2 tsp of sugar+half a cup of full cream milk+quarter of a cup of thick cream and finally add 1 tsp of instant coffee grounds. of dont forget when you mix everything up well at the end put some ice in it and crush it if you put too much it will taste like water and dont let it blend too much or the ice will melt just blend it repeatedly for 1 to 2 seconds until the ice is fully crushed
Thanks Sharon. if the bananas are sweet there is little sweetener needed and I prefer honey to sugar, it kind of draws the sweetness out of a good banana. Have a great day Sharon :) Steve
TURNED OUT SO GOOD. I am a student pilot & I live by myself rn so I was scared to mess this up buttttt SO GOOD & easy. Cherry on top, I had ripe bananas 😁👌
You should peel and chop up the banana to smaller pieces and freeze them down. After a few hours or the next day or whatever just put some milk, honey/vanilla extract in the mixer, add the frozen banana pieces and blend it until it's done.
I just made it and it was........like OMG DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😋😋😋.............................I watched a lot of other videos before this one, but they all needed ice cream and this whole bunch of other complicated stuff that I didn't wanted to buy, but with this recipie I already had everything at home, and it was super easy....... THANK YOU!!!!👍👍🍌🍌
Fantastic Steve. What luck. The wheel stopped on banana just as I was wondering what the heck I should make with the overripe bananas in my kitchen. Love it.
this is what I did: 1 banana 1 teaspoon of maple syrup 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract Sprinkle of nutmeg 4 Pinches of cinnamon Sugar (obviously) Milk (obviously, again) And I mixed it for about 2 minutes and boom. Crazy goodness.
Now, you see I thought milkshakes were ice cream and milk and bananas etc but now I know different. Only been making them recently and puzzled at how they weren't frothy. Now I know. Thanks Steve
Hi Peter, they can be but I wanted to recreate the old style milk shakes that were all about the flavour of the fruit. Thanks for commenting my friend, have a great day Steve
I don't drink usually milk actually since I was a kid but everything made with it I'll eat/drink it so I've made this milkshake this morning it's bussin I feel full i didn't have lunch and it's now 2pm i wake up like 8am
Brilliant and easy to make recipe too I must say. Banana and strawberry milkshakes are my favourite for sure. Although if there's a raspberry one I wouldn't mind trying that too 😋
All you need for an amazing banana milkshake is Bananas & water!( even better if you add some organic flavor drops in as well, but that's optional). I drink a banana milkshake every morning! all I use is about 7-8 ripe bananas, coconut water(or regular water) & a a few drops of organic vegan vanilla flavoring. a little cinnamon in there is amazing too! you will see how amazing this tastes, & the best part is, is that it is COMPLETELY healthy! just bananas & coconut water!
+John Pruden Nice tip John, sounds just superb, it's a very different drink to what I am trying to re create here, but none the less what a great tip.. Steve
+John Pruden Wayyy more natural than an actual banana, milk, and honey?... in what orchard did you pick your flavor drops? Nobody needs to be drinking 7-8 bananas as a treat, btw; that's over 800 calories.
glitterspectacle they are good calories though, major difference. I'm vegan, so I don't consume any dairy or honey. Bananas already have a natural creamy texture when blended so there's no need to add any milk. & they're also plenty sweet, so honey is just excess.
I remember the good old fashioned banana milk shakes steve! Yummo. Although I can't have them now, it takes me back to when I used to make them as a kid. Remember the ice cream floats with the flavourings? Banana used to be my favourite of those too. Great milkshake.
what I use: * 2 bananas (break in half) *some nutmeg *two scoops of sugar *spoonful of vanilla extract *bunch of smal crushable icecubes put it in my nutribullet and finished!
How interesting, I made a similar smoothie randomly when I first got my blender, I grabbed 3 bananas, threw them in, two large spoonfulls of vanilla icecream, a glass of semi-skimmed milk, and some honey. Only part that backfired was that the bananas were starting to blacken so their sweetness was incredibly strong, thus overpowering a lot of the taste, so in hindsight perhaps using those bananas for banana bread and using less ripened bananas for smoothies is the way to go.

Caroline Patrick Thanks for taking time to say :)
Yeahh
I tried this with a banana that wasn't quite ripe, big mistake! Even adding some extra honey couldn't make it sweet enough.
Let this be a warning :)
+QuixoticQuaver Yes, super ripe is the only way..
hwat is 'super ripe'? Completely yellow or completely black? Does the type of banana matter?
I gonna try it with a green one

I love how u did that milk shake I'm going to try it
The banana milkshake is super good with this recipe. I added a little of vanilla extract to give it a little kick. It was amazing
i used frozen milk cubes, frozen banana, honey and a splash of half and half(because it was too thick) it was like banana flavor soft ice cream.
Nice :)
