좋아하다 vs. 마음에 들다 (= to like)

Have you heard 좋아하다 and 마음에 들다 being used when people talk about something or someone they like? These two expressions are used in different contexts, and Hyunwoo explains how to use them.

Hyunwoo-ssi, I love how skilled you are at teaching! You often know how the students will think or what we will be confused about as you are teaching. As an aspiring teacher, I hope to be like you as well! For example, how you said here "this Jeo is not the same as 'that', this is 'I"" because a second before that, I did have to pause and think and remember that it's a different Jeo. 😂 And then you explained it right after I pressed play again haha. This always happens; it's awesome that you think from our perspective & clarify on the things that we might get stuck on. Wow this was long sorry.

So from what I understand, 마음에 들다 is like 'like', can be things or person as friend, but 좋아하다 more like 'love' especially using it for confession, and really really feel special about the subject

So in a nutshell, 좋아하다 is when you like something in general, while 마음에 들다 is when you liked something? Like the example with the movie. I like this movie
