Pantera!!! some of you might know that this is a redo, this was actually the second cover I ever shot way back in the early days of Meytal drum covers.. well I’m older, wiser and this time I played the part right. also, Mazan did a killer job on the mix. he really tried to get the drum mix to sound like Vinnie’s set and I think he got it pretty damn close! i used to watch Pantera when they played every Sunday at a beach in Ft Worth where we used to hang out.. and now Meytal is playing their music - how cool is that?
i'm no professional but for me, the mic may have been a little closer to the snare than i'm used to. otherwise Meytal rocks it as usual!

Hell yeah! I learned to play from Vinnie Paul in the mid to late 90s. I just watched her 46+2 cover which was spot on. I would like to see her play some Death Core. Maybe some Infant Annihilitor, or Job for a Cowboy...

The greatest thing about Vinnies playing was his use of space. Groove was most important not speed or all double pedal. It allowed room for vocals and Dimes guitars to really pull through the mix.
To someone who doesn't play drums, like me, all the bass drum footwork seems quite complex.
I suppose the brotherly bond between Dimebag and Vinnie helped them to work together so well.

Brad Thomas Depending on the quality sticks they can be harder to play up higher. Your grip should be where you get the best bounce and feel comfortable playing. I'm guessing her sticks have a lower balance point.
I play the same way. The butt of the stick always seem to hit my wrist if I held them any further up.

I don't know what to make of this...I feel like you played the song perfectly, but it looks like you are just sitting there going "1 e and a, 2 e and a..." through the whole thing. Not sure what I am expecting really as your drumming sounds on point...I have just never seen someone look so uninspired before.

Vinnie is one of the heaviest hitting drummers in the world and you hit the drums like a feather floating onto a pillow.

747turbowags One of the cool things about doing covers is that you don't try and duplicate the original. You add your own flavour to it.
I can see adding your own fills to it, but its a heavy song and she doesnt play it heavy, doesnt have the same vibe at all.

You realise that there's absolutely nothing wrong with the playing and that the mix on this video is off, right? There's zero bass, the guitars are too low and the drums are too dry. Her playing is perfectly fine.

Bruce Banner I don’t think passion has to be everything, physical passion for that matter, you need a passion to play an instrument and I think that passion alone is already enough. Each to their own I guess.

in the seconds 0:43 you have to check that low frequency, in the toms, the snake is weird maybe a bit of reverb, and try to see another eq.
