Lmao I really did that multiple times when we had someone jumping in for our teacher and says: Do what you want, just leave me in peace xD

Oh, the substitute for our regular teacher. And I will first quickly look for an empty room and then just start there xD It's often not more than 45minutes, but that results in me having more sleep that night... I take every opportunity cause if I get home after all my stuff at usual 8pm - 11pm, I still have my own practise to do and homework and studying... So yeah, I practise whenever and whereever I can between all my appointments 😅

5.I just recently ran out of e strings and I can't go out so I'm waiting for the delivery

I'm a pianist. There was a time when my life was really... let's say unpleasant-enslaved as a housewife in charge of cleaning 3 houses, meals, work, school, english academy, concervatory. One day I was in a fucking rush: I just got back from school at 12.40 pm, I was cooking lunch, and I also had to do the laundry and the ironing as well as cleaning the kitchen and I had to be in the concervatory at 14.30, which was at 20 minutes walk away so by 14.10 I had to finish or else I would be late (I was 15,btw). In the middle of the rush, I end up burning my whole right hand with boiling oil. It was a hell of a burn and I couldn't move it. I covered it with toothpaste, wrapped it up with kitchen towels and got going (while crying and swearing, of course). You should have seen the face of my piano teacher when I show up later that evening. She gave me a lecture on taking care of my hands and so on, while also trying to speak some sense into me, that I couldn't keep that lifestyle and that I was being abused and that I should let people help me. Depression aside, I was still going to my classes despite my 2nd degree burns and practicing using only the left hand xD. So... There are really no excuses XDDDD.

I'm 44 in a month's time. I started learning violin 3 weeks ago. I sound awful, but not as awful as I did 3 weeks ago. Practice everyday. No excuses. Even if I only do 30 minutes. In three weeks I will sound less awful than today.
How are you doing?
I started at 37, 6 weeks ago... These days I am all happy that after six weeks I don't need to think which string which finger and I think I sound decent for 6 weeks... So you are in for like 10 months. How is it going?

@@cerianneselio4856 I am quite happy with the progress... I was quite unhappy with all the technique in the first hours and always open string playing. But I understand why it is necessary. I played a few instruments before.. So reading notes and understanding the concept of music did help quite a lot. At what point does vibrato come in? Some say at around 2nd year is that correct? Do you self study or do you have a teacher?
@@az-bp7ns I am teaching myself with the suzuki method and a you tuber called Pro am strings. I'm on book 2 of the suzuki method and I've kinda halted the learning as I'm just enjoying playing different music and trying out different bow techniques. I'm in no rush. From what I can gather vibrato happens when it wants to happen and its not something to be rushed or forced. I tried it a few times and I was just shaking my violin rather then my finger doing the work 😂. Must have been a funny sight.

If you're not goalkeeper, that leaves two perfectly good hands free for practice. If you are, then just do it while your team is on offense and take a break when you're defending.

Yep…. I should practice my bass clarinet for band more often…. But my ukulele is closer and I haven’t been playing it as long…. And my keyboard is over there and I barely know how to play, just easy stuff…. Then sometimes I practice my music for band on my keyboard even though I can’t play it as well and it doesn’t really help….. Then there’s the guitar that I haven’t picked up forever and my excuse is the ukulele is an easier smaller version… :)

I'm struggling with depression, the only excuse of mine for not practicing is that I'm dying inside and can see no point in things. Hopefully it's gonna be easier for me as soon as I keep watching your videos. It's what I've been doing since weeks and somehow I still seem alive. I've really liked the moment when you both grabbed all the visualized excuses, squished them into a trash ball, and smashed them at the table. In my mind, while looking at it, I tried to do the same about my depression and all the struggles. It was a really comforting moment.
Keep making the videos, guys. Thank you so much for any minute of your time and dedication to our community. Literally I can't live without you and your sense of humour. May Ling Ling be with you.

I feel sorry for you, but I hope you're getting better and better. It surely doesn't feel good, as if you're trapped in a hollow space and you wanna get out of it and do fun things but there ain't no way, right? I think you don't need to rush somehow, take your time to heal (by anything positively good surely), to get out from 'the trap' of the depression, at least first try to find the reasons to get back to practicing again. It's probabably not easy but it's possible, you can do it! :) And when you can start practicing, think about what your heart desires, what songs/pieces that you love etc, just anything calming and relieving. I hope it helps! Get better soon :)

At my summer camp, I broke the practicing record. They called me Ling Ling
My little sister has just, this week, started to learn how to play the violin. She's 9 and was SOOOO excited to learn. So much so that she just learned the strings and nothing else, and has to learn how to play "Twinkle twinkle Little Star".
She has learned how to play part of it by day 3 cause she went and watch so many videos to practice better, and she had watched one of your videos (The one where you watched the Chinese Movie with the Classical and Traditional department compete) and she got some good pointers on how to hold the bow, with my help (I don't even play, but I watch too many of your videos). Plus, she found it funny.
I guess I'm saying thank you, cause now I have someone to watch TwoSet videos with, and for just explaining even little things so simply. I just have to make sure she doesn't bully the violas, now, with her superiority
