Cleaning the dojo is "a way to express gratitude to the teacher". You already pay the guy every week and for everytime he gives you grading? Why dont he hire some cleaning people with the money? Or do you get discount when you clean up?
@@alexandrealves2877 your thinking doesnt make any sense. The teacher provides a service and the student is a customer. A service provider is compensated with money for his service. So an aikido teacher is not like a parent but a car salesman. If you buy a car from him, you expect it to be clean (thus he has to clean it before selling it to you).

@@misterprogressive8730 If you consider that the sensei is "doing a job" for the disciple, then you will think that the disciple has any power of choice in whatever the sensei is going to do or teach. Disciples need to wash the sensei's back in the bath.

It is impossible to pay "the guy", if he is a Sensei for you. Your thinking make no sense. It is like to pay a father or mother for your birth.
