I got one of these scooters for parts or repair had the same issue with the battery did you notice there is only twenty cells in the pack making it a 10s2p battery with 2500mah batteries. So it really is a 36v 5ah battery not a 6ah like it said on the package so I think that's why they have a different manufacture for them now. Also probably why the pack went bad since it couldnt really put enough amps out for the scooter.

Any suggestions for which battery to buy? The one on their site is the only option?

Remove all of the screws and PRY! There may be extra glue holding it together.
