I was fortunate enough to see both Wilt and MJ when they were in their prime. Both took the league by storm when they were rookies. It took both a few seasons before they won NBA Champions. MJ had better coaches and personnel to play with. Wilt to me is the best Center to ever play in the NBA, MJ is the best Shooting Guard. One problem i have with Wilt saying that is there's a legendary Harlem street basketball player by the name of Earl "The Goat" Manigault from back in his day. Fair answer: yes, Earl did give Wilt and just about everyone else problems at the Rucker games. But so did Jumping Jackie Jackson. You DO know that story--as told by Connie Hawkins: how Jackie illegally pinned a Wilt fadeaway against the backboard and didn't get called for goaltending because everyone was so stunned at the leap Jackie made to do it. Or...you DO know what happened to Gus Johnson when he came in for a dunk on Wilt, right? On the ground with a dislocated shoulder from bouncing off the floor. Yeah, MJ would have had his moments coming in on Wilt, but let's be sure: none of the centers who were dunked on by Michael were a match for Wilt. And when Wilt said "Don't come in the paint again," the flashy guards and forwards knew it was for their better interest.

Why the league might've took notice is because they were clipping Jordan mid air constantly which could be career ending. So they had to do address that but it was still a very physical league because those early 90's Knicks were Detroit light. Every team still had an enforcer on it until sometime after mids 90's the game cleaned up a lot.

Frontcourt players will always have higher percentages than backcourt players because they play closer to the basket and operate in mostly layups and dunks. Jordan as a high volume shooting backcourt player was 50% for his career as a Chicago Bull. That percentage is on par with most centers.

Wilt should have won 8 MVP's because the league back then allowed only players to vote. Most of the players despised Wilt

Imagine you can break the rules because a game is young and you are the only one with the physical gifts to do so and then say "they changed the rules to stop me from dominating". No they changed it because it was bs and rules were easily abusable back then.
Wilt with all his gift only got two chips and those were later on in his carreer when his gifts diminished and he had to learn to play winning basketball.

No, they changed the rules because they had no way otherwise of controlling how much Wilt was dominating the league. There wasn't anyone who could stop him, and you have to remember how many times he faced one of the most dominant defensive centers in Bill Russell in the '60s. He didn't have the quality of teammates, either, and certainly not the best coaches, Bill Van Breda Kolff being a prime example. At least Alex Hannum knew how to coach Wilt.

Wilt is overrated. He was a known stat padder and cared more about his stats. In the year he led the league in assists, his teammates said he passed up open shots to get his assist stats lol. THe fact that he never had the same ppg in the playoffs vs the regular season is telling. He crumbled in the biggest games while his rival Russell -- like MJ --- elevated in the crucial moments. It's a myth that Russell had better teams. Russell just knew how to win. Russell stats would significantly increase during the biggest moments while Wilt would underperform.

If you bring up quotes the most important thing to do is to show jordan saying he can’t call himself the goat cuz of guys like wilt he didn’t prove himself against and wilt big upping bill Russell as the goat. But truth does go beyond quotes. Here’s the truth.
It’s awesome to be a fan but bias is causing the game and the culture to suffer. We must cut the bias and give objective takes in 2024 we have no excuse.
The supposedly sub par performances wilt has are better than most players greatest performances in the playoffs and you can’t find any sub par performances of jordan Lebron Kobe magic shaq Kareem etc that come close to wilts sub par performances all across the board cuz they are simply that much inferior and held to that much of a lower standard.
Most biased fans for MJ call great games only great if you score a lot or in high bunches totally contradicting themselves in the fact that bill has the most chips and highest success career rate while avg half the points MJ n wilt did for a career proving scoring is nowhere near the most impressive thing or the most likely way to win for a single individual to be puttin up high numbers in.
For every low scoring game, Wilt dominated defensively and rebounding simultaneously and even did so with assisting great sometimes as well. Wilt knew how to dominate games with high scoring bunches like jordan but also how to dominate with rebounding and defense like bill Russell which jordan does not know how to do which is why when the comp was so much greater in the 80s, MJ couldn’t get over the hump and only did it in the 90s
Wilt is clearly MJ and bill combined and MJ is not wilt and bill combined at all
MJ is top 10 which is incredible given how many people played the game, most popular player ever fully taking the league by storm when the media era for basketball took off in the 90s and cameras were far more prevalent and advanced than the 60s n early 70s
But when it comes to wilt there’s no comparison. Wilt is far better at rebounding and defending than jordan could ever be considered better at passing and scoring (not even FG%) whether you compare them relative to their positions or not
Beyond that, jordan succeeded in the 90s as things got far easier than the 80s where as wilt won in both the 60s and 70s in an era where he had the goat dynasty to contend with in the 60s, and the all time knicks and most hofs players and goat teams at one time to deal with in the early 70s
Wilt dealt with far tougher rules, more competitive league with less spots available yet higher difficulty of rules, higher science of no salvation basketball but rather higher passing iq and efficient dribbling instead of over dribbling resulting in faster pace which is also harder to keep up with athletically and skill through fatigue, harder rims to shoot on, more hof teams that outnumber his own by numerous hofs and won against multiple where as jordan never won against a team that outnumbered his own by 2 or more hofs, 2 hand check plus zone defenses and no flagrant fouls or flopping or load management while never ever fouling out despite playing agreesive D and leading in blocks endless times and sticking with smaller forwards and guards as well as hakeem could and chasedown blocks like lebron and stamina like no other and faster than most in history at 7 foot 1 but stronger than all in history etc…
Wilt simply brings more to the table to far higher extents overall against even more difficult circumstances Clear cut better than jordan and top 2 ever alongside Russell
All objective proof beyond bias and opinion. Very well documented

Michael Jordan's ability to manufacture motivation was unmatched: The combination of Jordan's remarkable competitive drive and his extreme sensitivity to insults, slights, or snubs whether real or, more commonly, imagined, helped him become arguably the greatest NBA player of all time.
The reason why MJ hasn't been forgotten is because he was undefeated in the Finals: Michael Jordan has two separate three-peat on his resume. He was also the driving force behind each of those championships, which is why he was awarded the Finals MVP six times. It's hard to look at the “what if” factors when putting together a G.O.A.T. We can agree to disagree because there are no right or wrong opinions. You are entitled whether you are right or wrong. In addition, there is an artificial debate about MJ and Lebron James. In my opinion, Aries Spears; said it best, and he also discussed Wilt Chamberlain's era! Click the link below if interested.

*Henry Hoops drama RUclipsr. You need to report that Wilt approached all those legends/GOATs to start this petty argument and most of them ignored Wilt. You only made this about Jordan and Jordan doesn't like being approached like that.*

So? It isn't Wilt's fault why he played against plumbers. You could only play who's in front of you. How would you feel if modern fans would say "We done with the 90s." It's like discrediting Wilt because of the era he played in.

When I was watching the video of Wilt, it became more evident to me what I kind of knew all along. That during his era, "height was might." Of course, he dominated because he and Bill were perhaps the only big men on that court. So for someone like MJ who's a 6'6" Guard to dominate the LEAGUE during his time and not have anyone else become a champion other than himself while he was playing is even more impressive and simply phenomenal. Wilt said that the league changed the rules so MJ could dominate? Really? The NBA simply introduced rules that weren't there before because clearly there weren't that many back in the day. Plus, I don't see how MJ could have benefitted from those 'rules' Wilt claims to have been implemented for his benefit when everyone else was playing under those same rules that the league was governed by (?) Doesn't make sense... and they feature Isaiah Thomas trying to explain the same on TV as if it were fact (?) Give me break! Why would you believe anything that comes from someone else's mouth who's clearly bitter and a sore loser because MJ swept his ass and drove him to retirement. Not to mention that he was clearly one of those instigators that did everything but send MJ to the hospital just to stop him from scoring 50!

Wilt played in one of the weakest nba eras in history when You’re playing against white guys that are 8 inches shorter than you of course he’s gonna score that much

I think one of the things I really admire about Jordan is how he doesn't go around telling people he's the greatest unlike the pretend GOAT that plays today.
