She had big hits like I Can Lose My Heart Tonight, Heartbreak Hotel, and Strangers by Night, and I remember liking them a lot then. Dieter Bohlen (Modern Talking) wrote songs for her, and her songs have an unmistakable MT feel. Especially when the male background voices join in. However, she quickly disappeared from the music scene. The competition was huge in the 80s when so many new bands and singers literally flooded the music scene with great songs. Most of them I still like to this day. I shake my head over some of the songs and why I liked them back then LOL. But that changes with age, which is pretty natural.

    C. C. Catch is a lovely person. I was at about 10 concerts and she had 12 big hits! Well and C. C. is still producing great songs like Unborn Love, Spirit (Who am I) and others! Enjoy! ❤❤❤❤

Actually her producer (Dieter Bohlen) is the creator of all this fantastic sound.
Very popular in Eastern European countries, South America, Türkiye, Russia, Middle East

    David, Hi!
She was produced by Dieter Bohlen of Modern Talking in Germany but she is from Netherlands.
C.C. Catch was BIG, very succesful in Spain, she had a lot of hits. I went crazy especially with her first Lp where this song was the second single. I LOVE this song and she is (still today) so beautiful. Spain fell in love with her.
I'm in the beach sunbathing right now and you have made me remember this song and I'm feeling happy.
    Thanks!!!!! ❤️

There were reports that CCCatch was unhappy that she was singing songs which did not make it into Modern Talking's albums so she said goodbye to her producer Dieter Bohlen (who is also the producer-member of Modern Talking)...
But she failed to see that despite those songs being rejects for Modern Talking, they suited her vocals and eventually became big hits too .. just not as big as Modern Talking's hits. Its not a wise decision.
You can see the exremely rich vein of creativity Dieter Bohlen was in to have enough songs to spread out among his 3 biggest acts, Modern Talking/CCCatch/Blue System , enough for them to have multiple hits each. The range of unique and atmospheric synth sounds created for those songs were astounding to say the least ...

    C.C. Catch is
Caroline Müller is of Dutch origin and in 1979 she moved from Geffen to Bünde in Germany. She entered a talent show and her father tried to put his daughter under the care of Dieter Bohlen, which eventually worked. Her first hit was "I can lose my heart tonight", originally made for Modern Talking. The song wasn't good enough for Modern Talking, so Thomas Anders' voice was replaced by Müller's; the other (high) voices remained the same. Almost all songs made for Modern Talking that weren't chosen for their albums were for Müller. It can be noted that the songs of C.C.Catch are actually Modern Talking, with the difference that the main voice (Thomas Anders) has been replaced by that of Müller and the lyrics have been adjusted, since a woman is singing here. Muller (2006)
Her popularity, however, did not match that of Modern Talking, nevertheless she achieved nice quotations in the international charts and Müller has also managed to reach number 1 - just like Modern Talking - while these are actually deleted songs from Modern Talking. As usual from Dieter Bohlen, the hits sold like hot cakes and so C.C.Catch managed to get her to be named as a 'disco queen' by a number of media and fans.
Müller was not the only one who sang in her songs, fellow Modern Talking singer Rolf Köhler also sang in the songs. Köhler largely sang as a backing vocalist and supporting voice in the choruses, but he also sang duets with Müller, as in the song Little by Little, and he also sometimes says and asks her in the songs (to which she answers) such as in Backseat of Your Cadillac. In the songs of C.C.Catch he generally had a deep voice, but he also sang very high in many songs, so there is a big link with Modern Talking.

great info mate but there is some mistakes in some parts. She was singing already under Arilola Label with a band called OPTIMAL. And I can lose my heart tonight was not originally made for MT, that song was made for her, according to people consulted working in the project back in the day.

She's Dutch. Yeah she was very trend setting and original back then. Her top hits were in the 80's. Mostly were marketed in the Soviet block, all of the USSR, Africa, Middle East, Western Europe, Asia. Back then there were different video and tv systems, therefore many of her broadcasts were not compatible the US or UK technology.. Of DJ's used her stuff lots back then.. Her first album is all maxi-versions with hooks and all kinds of Italodisco sounds. DJ took tons of samples from those bac then all over the world..

this is a KILLER for sure! produced by D. Bohlen of Modern Talking (from Germany) fame, she was just one of many artists he wrote songs for and produced them as well. I used to despise this kind of music back in the day, but as it turned out, that decade was the BEST in popular music history and now I sit here rocking in my chair while watchin 80´s greats on yt...
singer and producer are alive and well - especially Bohlen as the major figure in the german version of America got talent!

While I know a lot of music from the 80s, I have not heard of CC Catch either. It reminds me a little bit of Sandra-style music with Michael Cretu as the writer, maybe a little bit of Modern Talking. It is amazing, how much this song fits in the 80s.
