  • Getting closer to spring! The temps are warming up, the snow is disappearing, and I need a new pair of work boots! We also received a new set of pneumatic Yetter Shark Tooth row cleaners, and took delivery of some corn seed!
Thank you to Chet's Shoes for sponsoring this video and setting me up with a new pair of Irish Setter Ramsey 2.0s! They are comfortable, durable, waterproof, and light weight. They also have aluminum toe protection, which I personally love.

@@MillennialFarmer - oh that made me laugh. 3 different pieces of equipment wanted new alternators near the end of 2018 here on my farm and their batteries all took a beating. for a few days there it was got the keys in one hand the battery charger in the other hand and yea, I'm going to crank it.

@@MillennialFarmer Well if you would just take every single battery out of every single piece of machinery and store them exactly 26" off the floor, in a room that maintains a constant 60F +/- 5 degrees, with a humidity of 60%, plus maintainers trickle charging...you wouldn't have any issues! Or at least that is what I'm told haha. We are always dealing with batteries.

@@MillennialFarmer I told my dad to start blogging like you do, I use to work on the farm for years driving combine and hauling grain. Great Video man. My dad is a Tomato Farmer from South Arkansas and I grew up in a farm family working on the farm. I have been watching you since last year and have my dad hooked on your videos as well haha. He is getting all geared up as well the tomatoes. They are in the green house right but they are going to the field in a few days. 200 acres with 4000 plants to the acre. All hand transplanted staked and tied grown on black plastic with drip irrigation then hand picked and packed and shipped to wal-mart distribution centers. Quite a bit different from row crop farming but he and I have always been fascinated by row croppers (as you may know we grow a lot of rice in Arkansas home of riceland). We never really have gotten to see how row crop farming actually works and its been great getting to learn that on your channel. Love all the videos keep em coming.

I'm a retired trucker. I have always referred to starting fluid as "Rod Bender". There are trucking companies out there that will fire a driver "on the spot" if he / she is caught with it in their possession. No questions asked. Clean your truck out and catch the next bus home.
When I worked in the shop, starting fluid was a two person job. One hit the starter and the other started adding fluid in short squirts. We stopped when two cylinders fired.

In your mowers, try to put straight gasoline, meaning no alcohol. I use that kind of gas in my mowers and put a 50:1 mix of the same kind of fuel in my trimmers. You can let them sit for the winter and they start right up, no gumming up of fuel lines and the internal parts. I use the VP fuel brand.

Zack why not a 4 amp trickle charges inside the cabs. Wired to the battery and add an exterior plug to just plug in at door an extension cord to let all know to disconnect before driving. Always keep batteries fully charged to last longer. As you can't fully recharge 60% down batteries when cold or worse frozen ones. If they are fully charged before winter storage in the warm area inside. Then park outside apply 4amp chargers. It will auto shut off when full to keep full etc. Also, why not put cable quick jump/charge ports outside the battery box. Lick how car tow trucks jump people all day etc.
