I was a seriously picky eater but when I was carpooling with a classmate to a downtown art class, his parents bought me a cheeseburger -- which always looked and smelled gross to me. But they were giving me a ride so I didn't want to be rude and I didn't want to admit I was the weird kid who'd never had McDonald's. So I just went with it. I swear reality shifted with the first bite -- and it was all I could do to resist asking for a second burger. Ten minutes later, I projectile vomitted that cheeseburger all over their back seat. They never offered me a ride again. To this day, I remember that every time I have McDonalds...but it doesn't stop me. Sorry to Larry and his parents, wherever you are!
these days we can spare ourselves by ordering ahead and sitting in a numbered parking space, waiting at least twice as long to get our food but knowing its entirely worth almost being forgotten
I work at McDonald’s in Southern California and my McDonald’s sold out of the Adult Kids Meal on the first day. I got it before it sold out and I got Cactus Buddy as my toy. I can’t wait for the Halloween buckets on the 18th!

Mcdonald's had a contest one time back in the 80s I think you could get a free Big Mac if you said " two all beef patties special sauce lettuce cheese pickles onions on a sesame seed bun" real fast and I still can say it fast lol I think for the whole time they ran that I never paid for a Big Mac lol

These things have caused the MCD's I work at to be absolutely flooded. The drive thru and the indoors become completely packed, the drive thru line absolutely stretched and barely gets any smaller, and the customers inside just watch the chaos me and my coworkers have to endure to get through orders. I mostly feel bad for our small kitchen staff, having to make all of that food. It only really stops till we run out of the toys or boxes, which is pretty much by the end of the day and we have to wait until our next shipment.
Yeah I feel bad the employees a lot of them are stressing out about it and getting abuse when they say they've run out. They don't get paid enough for this crap.

I love the idea, I still get happy meals from time to time despite being an adult if there are toys of franchises I enjoy (usually Pokemon) but I feel bad sometimes because I feel like I'm taking toys away from the kids. Also, damn that big mac is HUGE, I think ours in Europe are smaller. I wish you could try Polish mcdonald's exclusives. Our national burger is called countrty mac and it's basically a normal cheeseburger but with fresher ingredients - bigger lettuce rather than shreds, real onion rather than reconstituted, some tomatoes and I think the sauce is horseradish. And a cheese slice of course. Also here we get to choose our toys in Happy Meals, I think it seems that in the US it's random and you only get to choose the "girl or boy" toy? Here you are shown a list with numbers and you just say which toy number you want.
I like the happy meal for a small little bit to eat, and I like getting the books. I tend to just pass the toys on to another kid if I don't want them but I def kept the Pokémon lmao
I don't like fountain drinks, so I always get an iced coffee at McDonald's. I also order my fries to be made with no salt to ensure I get them hot. I'll then ask for salt & ketchup packets. When I can't finish the fries, which is often, I'll bring them home and reheat them in a 400°F oven for a few minutes; they crisp back up, though still not as good as fresh ones. I was hoping you'd get the Hamburglar: that was my favourite. I didn't even eat at a McDonald's until I was 16. My parents took my Sister and I to A&W where the food would come on a tray attached to the window. I 🧡 Big Macs. I haven't had one in about 6 months. I'll probably order one for my Thanksgiving meal on Monday because I was unprepared and thought Thanksgiving was the next week 🤦♀️

One thing I learned decades ago is to never look inside a fast-food hamburger. Even if there's nothing really bad in there, you're probably going to be put off by the haphazard, random way the condiments and toppings are applied. Pickles in a pile over here,.. onions globbed in the middle,.. cheese melted on one side but not the other,... ketchup squirted intermittently,.. etc. So, just close your eyes and eat that burger and try not to think about the chaos between the buns.

Emmy in her car is fantastic! So much of this made me laugh out loud. Emmy finding out she had rootbeer was channeling me as a kid whenever I ended up with a strawberry milkshake instead of a vanilla milkshake. My disappointment was that face! This was so much fun!
I desperately love happy meals. Whenever my family went to a big city we didn’t know well in the U.K., we would pop to MaccyDs because it was the only place my poor parents could feed fussy me and my fussy brother lol. Since my Gastroparesis kicked in to overdrive I quite often have a happy meal if we get takeaway, since I can’t usually manage a full adult meal… and who doesn’t want a toy??
I was able to buy the meal twice. The first time I got Cactus Buddy and the second time I got The Hamburglar. I did it through the app both times on Tuesday and Wednesday right when they started serving lunch. The weird thing is the second time the large meal (large fries/drink) was sold out but not the medium. They use the same boxes.
I’ve always wished that McDonalds would offer a “Mini Mac”. Just a regular cheeseburger with an all beef patty, special sauce, lettuce , cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. . I LOVE Big Macs but OMG the calories. And I’ve reached a “certain age” where I just can’t eat as much as I used to be able to. 😞
The onions on a Big Mac aren't just in the special sauce, but on the burger, too. When I was a child in the 70's, McD's released an ad for the Big Mac with a jingle of the items on the burger. Even if you didn't eat it, everyone knew it had "2 all beef patties, special sauce, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun".

i was tempted to get one because of the old characters. i remember the commercials and the toys in my happy meal from when i was little, and how my aunt used to collect the toys of the fry guys and kept them on her dresser. and yeah i agree about the fries. i hate when they get set out for a long time and they still give them to you and their so hard that if you rub 2 together you could start a fire. lol they should have given you a large fry instead of a medium. an adult deserves a large fry. lol
I'm generally a BK girl, but I do enjoy a Big Mac from time to time. I do remember the plain McD's hamburgers, they were cheap when I was a child (70s and 80s). Back in the day, lettuce and tomato was extra on hamburgers so Mom and Dad would order them plain, bring them home, and dress them at the house. We always had homegrown tomatoes and iceberg lettuce around.
For all of you that are not aware. You can add mac sauce to any burger. My favorite is a quarter pounder with cheese, no ketchup, add mac sauce. The sauce with the ketchup that comes on the quarter pounder does not suit my fancy.
I have distinct memories of that Grimace playground equipment. He was up on big springs and the floor was made of that diamond pattern stainless steel floor plating and it had a fairly sharp edge. I was about 3 or 4 when I got pushed down by a bigger kid and gashed my forehead on the edge and got 12 stitches. The Grimace disappeared from the playground of that McDonald's shortly thereafter.

I love Native deodorant!!! I finally switched over to it about a month ago and I love it!!!! And I love Emmy!!! The little hamburger is my most favorite thing at McDonald’s!! I always get them with extra ketchup! If I get a Big Mac I dissect it and add so much extra sauce that it barely resembles a Big Mac!!! I leave off the lettuce, cheese and pickles and add extra Mac sauce😂😂
I remember as a kid being in Mcdonalds with my parents. I would think it was the first and only time we went there as a family. But I remember really wanting a happy meal but I didn't know what they were called. So I was crying and telling them I wanted a "bag". But obviously they didn't know what I was talking about so my mom asked the workers for a bag and they gave me an actual paper bag. But it had a cardboard Sebastian from the Little Mermaid on it. However, no toy. Haha. That cardboard Sebastian was on my fridge for years.
I couldn't wait to see what McDonald's considers an appropriate "Adult Toy" to give with a Big Mac ajajajajaja. I never buy meals because I only like water when I eat. I may be out of touch, but the price of the adult meal sounds very expensive for my budget. I would usually buy 6 quarter pounders with cheese from the value menu because they remind me of White Castle burgers. I also love fish sandwich 🥪
i love this video so so much! i made sure to get my grown-up happy meal the first day it came out because I knew I wasn't the only "adult" waiting for this for so so long.... and my generational peers here in louisville, KY weren't going to wait around on the ultimate "finally-in-my-lifetime" dream realization. (not that i don't appreciate the artist's collaboration at all). i wasn't patient for even a second when i opened the box i'll never throw away, i knew i had to have grimace, and the gods did smile upon me that day. as soon as i took the 4-eyed adorable little wacko out of the box, i could feel through the plastic it was him. don't be too upset at your luck, ok?! the best part is we got to hear our dads reminisce about the, "2 all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun". ❤❤❤ that's the stuff of life right there!
We grew up in the same McDonald's age as I remember the themed playground. We didn't go often as children and I would only eat takeaways about once a month. I was a fussy eater and the only thing I would eat was the fries and a chocolate sundae. My Godmother and her partner visited the other day and everytime she sees me she tells the story of how I would always dip my fries into the sundae. The irony is that I still do this as an adult. I now get sick at the smell of chocolate so I get a caramel sundae, fries and now I will.eat a few chicken nuggets and sometimes an apple pie but I get rid of as much of the gooey bit of the filling and sometimes I only eat the pastry part. I used to keep the little toy but gave them aware at some point.

The last two times I’ve tried quarter pounders, they were very dry…despite the ads saying they’re now juicier. I hear that toy is fetching quite a bit of money in the marketplace!

Emmy in her car is fantastic! So much of this made me laugh out loud. Emmy finding out she had rootbeer was channeling me as a kid whenever I ended up with a strawberry milkshake instead of a vanilla milkshake. My disappointment was that face! This was so much fun!

I desperately love happy meals. Whenever my family went to a big city we didn’t know well in the U.K., we would pop to MaccyDs because it was the only place my poor parents could feed fussy me and my fussy brother lol.
Since my Gastroparesis kicked in to overdrive I quite often have a happy meal if we get takeaway, since I can’t usually manage a full adult meal… and who doesn’t want a toy??

I didn't even know that adult meal was a thing. So weird but funny to watch you review it
I was able to buy the meal twice. The first time I got Cactus Buddy and the second time I got The Hamburglar. I did it through the app both times on Tuesday and Wednesday right when they started serving lunch. The weird thing is the second time the large meal (large fries/drink) was sold out but not the medium. They use the same boxes.
I’ve always wished that McDonalds would offer a “Mini Mac”. Just a regular cheeseburger with an all beef patty, special sauce, lettuce , cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. . I LOVE Big Macs but OMG the calories. And I’ve reached a “certain age” where I just can’t eat as much as I used to be able to. 😞

In Sweden we have a hamburger chain that sell that. The mini burgers comes with pink dressing and sallad. And you can get it with or without cheese.
The onions on a Big Mac aren't just in the special sauce, but on the burger, too. When I was a child in the 70's, McD's released an ad for the Big Mac with a jingle of the items on the burger. Even if you didn't eat it, everyone knew it had "2 all beef patties, special sauce, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun".
I haven't had McDonald's for 16 or 17 years. I am craving a big Mac and fries now

i was tempted to get one because of the old characters. i remember the commercials and the toys in my happy meal from when i was little, and how my aunt used to collect the toys of the fry guys and kept them on her dresser.
and yeah i agree about the fries. i hate when they get set out for a long time and they still give them to you and their so hard that if you rub 2 together you could start a fire. lol
they should have given you a large fry instead of a medium. an adult deserves a large fry. lol
I'm generally a BK girl, but I do enjoy a Big Mac from time to time.
I do remember the plain McD's hamburgers, they were cheap when I was a child (70s and 80s). Back in the day, lettuce and tomato was extra on hamburgers so Mom and Dad would order them plain, bring them home, and dress them at the house. We always had homegrown tomatoes and iceberg lettuce around.
Couldn't pay me to eat Mickey D's (somewhat lying), but I like the thought put into the marketing of the product.

For all of you that are not aware. You can add mac sauce to any burger. My favorite is a quarter pounder with cheese, no ketchup, add mac sauce. The sauce with the ketchup that comes on the quarter pounder does not suit my fancy.

I have distinct memories of that Grimace playground equipment. He was up on big springs and the floor was made of that diamond pattern stainless steel floor plating and it had a fairly sharp edge. I was about 3 or 4 when I got pushed down by a bigger kid and gashed my forehead on the edge and got 12 stitches. The Grimace disappeared from the playground of that McDonald's shortly thereafter.

I love Native deodorant!!! I finally switched over to it about a month ago and I love it!!!! And I love Emmy!!! The little hamburger is my most favorite thing at McDonald’s!! I always get them with extra ketchup! If I get a Big Mac I dissect it and add so much extra sauce that it barely resembles a Big Mac!!! I leave off the lettuce, cheese and pickles and add extra Mac sauce😂😂

I remember as a kid being in Mcdonalds with my parents. I would think it was the first and only time we went there as a family. But I remember really wanting a happy meal but I didn't know what they were called. So I was crying and telling them I wanted a "bag". But obviously they didn't know what I was talking about so my mom asked the workers for a bag and they gave me an actual paper bag. But it had a cardboard Sebastian from the Little Mermaid on it. However, no toy. Haha. That cardboard Sebastian was on my fridge for years.
I couldn't wait to see what McDonald's considers an appropriate "Adult Toy" to give with a Big Mac ajajajajaja.
I never buy meals because I only like water when I eat. I may be out of touch, but the price of the adult meal sounds very expensive for my budget. I would usually buy 6 quarter pounders with cheese from the value menu because they remind me of White Castle burgers. I also love fish sandwich 🥪

We grew up in the same McDonald's age as I remember the themed playground. We didn't go often as children and I would only eat takeaways about once a month. I was a fussy eater and the only thing I would eat was the fries and a chocolate sundae. My Godmother and her partner visited the other day and everytime she sees me she tells the story of how I would always dip my fries into the sundae. The irony is that I still do this as an adult. I now get sick at the smell of chocolate so I get a caramel sundae, fries and now I will.eat a few chicken nuggets and sometimes an apple pie but I get rid of as much of the gooey bit of the filling and sometimes I only eat the pastry part. I used to keep the little toy but gave them aware at some point.
This sums up adult life. Even the Happy Meal is an Unhappy Meal.

I remember as a kid when I graduated to a quarter pounder. I don’t think I’ve ever had a Big Mac. You made it look good, although it’s a lot of bread for me. The last two times I’ve tried quarter pounders, they were very dry…despite the ads saying they’re now juicier.

Seeing you take apart the Big Mac brought it all flooding back. On a side note of Happy Meal toys, we’ve still got a small, felt Mr Strong. It was perfect for our chihuahua back in the day and well over 30 years later, it’s now a fave toy of our most recent dog, Molly. It’s lost it’s hat and arms but still going strong
