You got it spot on!! Beautiful song!! 😊
thank you! glad you enjoyed it!
Robert Palmer Robert Palmer he covered early in the morning and he does a excellent job on early in the morning. Early in the morning. I robert palmer oh yeah yep yep
On 06/22/2000 I listened to this song on repeat as I headed to the hospital to welcome my daughter to this world with “Arms Wide Open”. That beautiful girl will be 23 in two weeks.
I miss Creed. They had some great songs.
The guitar player (Mark Tremonti) had a daughter born with down syndrome, so he recorded a cover album singing Sinatra songs. All the proceeds went to down syndrome charity. He di an amazing job. Worth checking out, especially if you like Sinatra.
This song was written back stage in State College, PA (Penn State) before Creed was to hit the stage. Scott received a phone call from his wife about the news... & He penned a hit. ✝️👍
thanks for the info!
@@brittreacts Keep up the awesome reactions Britt. 😊
Didn't he hold onto the song until his wife made it to a concert? I think I remember something like that in an interview
As a father, the greatest fear is a disaster happening to your children that you can’t do anything about.
Great song and reaction Britt.
THIS IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SONG AND IT BREAKS ME INTO TEARS EVERY TIME I HEAR IT!! NOT TEARS OF SADNESS BUT TEARS OF JOY FOR THE MIRACLE OF CHILDBIRTH AND THE LOVE OF A FATHER, UNCONDITIONAL!!
IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN I BELIEVE THAT CREED STARTED OUT AS A CHRISTIAN ROCK BAND!!
❤❤❤❤
Agreed. It fills me with such joy and amazement at life and the indescribable love having a child brings.
Your daughter can't go wrong with a beautiful mother like you! 😃♥️XO💋
Now you need to check out the prequel to this song…called Name by Scott Stapp!!!
Scott (the lead singer) went solo after he got sober and has released 3 albums which are fantastic!
Slow Suicide
Purpose for Pain
Justify
Hit me more
Higher
Weathered
Pity for a dime
What if
What’s this life for
A thousand faces
Creed was unjustifiably hated!! Scott Stapp is my all time favorite artist. His music is so relatable!!!! He has helped me through some very difficult times!!! He has saved my life!
The first song I heard by Creed was “Higher “ it’s so good.
Better than this one
As a new father of a one year old son, this song makes me tear up so much.
Britt, Scott (Lead Singer) left the band and the instrumentalists found a new Singer, Myles Kennedy and renamed the band Alter Bridge. Myles is incredible!!!!
Check out, Blackbird LIVE in Amsterdam.
Two different bands no renaming
When you are surprised by the announcement, everything changes. The absolute joy, and fear at the same time.
You hit the mark, Scott write this song when he found out his wife was pregnant with their first baby.
Yup, exactly. Wish I couldve done something like this when I found out about my daughter.
It was his girlfriend. They never married. He wrote it when he found out she was pregnant with his first son, Jagger.
Love this song, I am in the same town as the bassist, Brian Marshall. Went to high school with him and his brother.
Pity For A Dime, is my favorite Creed song...❤❤❤
That and Torn.
@arlanmckee I like many Creed songs..
Pity For A Dime, is just my favorite..😀😀
Their best guitar solo, beautiful intro. Super underrated.
I will keep it in mind, thanks!
I always saw the video as showing that the life that he's always known until now is coming to an end, and he's entering an even more wonderful, but at the same time frightening life of being a father. It transitions from the end of times, to a baptism into a new world.
Yeah. When I was pregnant with our first baby. It wasn't "real" to him until she kicked me so hard while we were sleeping that it woke him up. Even after hearing her heartbeat, getting to "see" her. As soon as being a Dad was "real" to him he started to really freak out in his head. He kept thinking am I ready for this? Do I know how to be a Good Father? As soon as she was here, he was wrapped around her little finger. He doesn't agree with me, but I always say I'm pretty sure over our 3 babies he changed more diapers than I did. They are the first to say he is the Best Daddy.
This song will always be special to me. My mom played it almost every day when I was growing up. I was born in '96 when she was only 17. It took me 28 years to really understand why she loved it so much. She sacrificed the best years of her life so I could become the man I am today.
Yep you got the message of the song! Creed was huge in the 90’s and were taken as a Christian influence band with a underlining message! They were on the radio all the time. Great song and reaction!
glad you enjoyed it!
Every time I hear this, it reminds me of my daughter. So scared but so excited. Luckily she is only like me in the good ways. She's my everything.
CREED has always been spiritual throughout my journey ✌🏻
Higher by Creed! 😎🔥🤘🎸
You definitely got it. For me the meteors always seemed a very visceral representation of the unpredictable challenges and uncertainties he will face as a new father (and also partly a reference to previous emotional damage. Jaded, as you said.)
thanks!
The group Puddle of Mud song 'Blurry' covers Baby Mama Drama, except later.
They have three songs that tell kind of a story 'Control', 'Blurry' and 'She Hates Me'. In that order.
Those are the 3 songs by Puddle of Mudd that I like and listen to as well.
Rain by Creed! 😎🔥🤘🎸
Love this song
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good band. Lead singer unusual vioce.
Yup Alterbridge is the cure to all that was wrong with Creed.
Creed is just as good in concert
Creed is good
HI . Confusion .... you picked a good one. 🎼🔥🎬🔥🎼 .. I saw these guys in concert in N.Y.C. and they were hot. Fantastic musicians and the lead singer can wail through every song. Very good on stage live. Rock on 🔥🔥🎸🔥🔥🎸🔥🔥🎸🔥🔥
The 1st time I heard this was in 2001.. pregnant with my son. My son was born severely handicapped. He's 22 now & the joy & motivation for my life. ❤❤
This girl on all her videos loves some great guitar riffs!
When you were trying to mimic his voice, it made me think of a skit from Mad TV called "You Sing Like Me" about how a bunch of groups kinda sounded the same during that time frame
I remember when I first found out that I was going to be a father. My wife and I were so scared, yet excited, and very young. I was 20 years old when my first daughter was born. She will be 28 this month. This song came out around the time my wife and I found out that our second daughter was on the way. She will be 22 this month as well. This song hits so close to home with me when he describes how he reacted to finding out he was going to be a dad. Being a husband and father are two of the only things that I did right in my life. Everything else, I just kind of winged it. Great song, still gets me a bit misty.
Yo, you gotta keep checking out more from these guys. My Own Prison and One Last Breath.
Was never a huge Creed fan but this song and Weathered are really good
Your understanding of fatherhood was great
I feel like creed is a lot like nickleback they get a lot of hate for no reason. Very good band!
They get it for reason... Scott Stapp went looney lol
The difference is...Creed ROCKS! , and Nickelback Sucks!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
They got hate, because every song they put out was a chart topper, they followed a formula that people thought was cringe.
And Creed, minus the lead singer, is now a new band called "Alter Bridge" which has a phenomenal vocalist in Myles Kennedy.
@@g3synth205 have you ever seen the Myles Kennedy and David Draiman pairing doing The Sound of Silence??? David killed the song as it was but the both of them together just annihilated it!!! It is one of the most incredible vocal duets I've ever heard and seen!!!😮😮
one of my favorites
They do a pretty good cover of the Doors, Riders on the storm.
This song makes me ugly cry every time I hear it! Even after all these years. It was released when my daughter found out she was pregnant with my 1st grandchild. It expresses every feeling pulsing through my heart & soul when I found out he was coming into our lives. Thank you for the reaction.
I have 4 sons with babies now and every time one of them told me I was gonna be a grandma. I did the same thing. Took them to my car.(good sound, and alone.) And played this song. It was a tender moment with them all.
My Champion by Alter Bridge! 😎🔥🤘🎸
Great reaction! In an interview, Scott said the imagery was reflective of the emotional struggles of dealing with his issues while having the hope of a beautiful new life and the fears that he wouldn't be able to overcome his personal demons. Scott, has been on a crazy roller coaster for years, he was a great artist, but he was a bit unhinged a few years ago, don't really know how he is doing now.
You need to do Creed’s Higher it is one of their top songs along with this and my sacrifice, also after the band split with scott they formed a new band called Alter Bridge which have just as many great songs you should really check out. When the band reunited for their last album , the first track Overcome is just amazing and a great anthem. Creed has two sides to them the amazing ballads that make you think about what is important in your life and the one’s you love. Then the other side of them is this anthem fight song side that just gets you up and moving.
The heartbeat is that of his child in the womb. Creed has some really good music. The guitarist and drummer have another band called alter bridge that you really need to check out.
What's This Life For by Creed! 😎🔥🤘🎸
just my thoughts as a dad, the sky crashing down is the terror we feel at our life changing to something more than us and the terror that we won't be good enough.
With Arms Wide Open & Higher are my favorites from them.
I will keep those in mind, thanks!
Unfortunately, too many men don't step up to be the father their children so desperately need. Being a father is one of God's greatest blessings that will make a father's heart overflow with joy and contentment.
Scott nails this emotion with the selfless love a parent should have for their child and desire to guide them through life while helping them to avoid the same mistakes we've made.
I like a few of Creed's songs... just never hooked me like others... but this is ONE I did listen to when my baby boy was on the way. And in the video... that immersion in the water is like a baptism/purification... doesn't have to be religious if that bothers someone... its a renewal... that mental "shower" after you've been through all those... feeling no matter what you've failed to do for yourself or others you now have a slate upon which you get to write a better life... to make things better for your beloved and your child.
You sound and look amazing.
Clearly, the video shows Scott Stapp as the baby dropping roughly down the birthing canal into the water breaking out into New Life as a picture of both natural birth and rebirth in Christ because of His arms outstretched. It’s double entendre-a beautiful metaphor.
My sacrifice is a good one too
Beautiful ❤️🔥 i love how the group's name Creed put with title of the song makes a statement, like this is our creed with arms wide open 😊😊😊
glad you enjoyed it!
BrittReacts. Scott Stapp (the leadsinger) began writing the lyrics to the song "With Arms Wide Open" in early 1998 during the My Own Prison tour, when he found out that his then wife Hillaree Burns was pregnant with his first child, Jagger.
I always took the bad weather in the video as a man having his world shaken to the core.
I think the song really matches the song, because a child can rock your world and shatter it's very foundations changing everything.
The song matching the song. Now that’s confusing as hell, but a novel concept…..I guess??
Beautiful Song! ♥️
7:33 you always want the perfect world for your child.
But the world is always falling apart. There's always some sort of metaphorical brimstone falling or multiple meteor strikes.
Yet they pale in comparison to the imperative that you are now charged with.
And as well the destruction symbolizes the cataclysmic nature of the news that you're going to have a child.
Parenthood is amazing and scary and wonderful.
He said "we stand in awe".
Also, this video had to play on MTV, to 15-year-olds. You're going to need a meteor strike.
Creed was in the post grunge era, so Scott Stapp has that deep grunge vocal exaggerated sound, like Pearl Jam, Sound Garden, Alice In Chains, STP, and TED (jk). No, actually Ted in the movie Ted, will explain it to you, as he sings “I Only Want To Be With You” by Hootie and the Blowfish.
you were spot on. great song.
One Last Breath by Creed! 😎🔥🤘🎸
Yeah, Scott Stapp wrote that song when he had just become a father. I never really thought of the imagery from the video, but if I had to guess the meteors and stuff would likely symbolize both the change in his life and the obstacles he would have to overcome with becoming a father for the first time, and to protect the child really from himself and who he is. Like he said in the song, he hopes he NOT like him.
I believe all the destruction is his world changing. And with it, he discovers something new and beautiful.
Scott Stapp has a very unique voice and reminds me of Gavin Rossdale of Bush.
Dying To Live by Scott Stapp! 😎🔥🤘🎸
Awesome video.
thanks!
lol...love your excitement! Love this song...
Hey Britt. Someone below made the same comment I was thinking so I will just second him. The guy that replaced Scott was Myles Kennedy when they became Alterbridge and he has one of the great rock voices in my opinion. His voice reaches the level of the instrumental part of the band. Blackbird, both studio and the live version, is an amazing song and has a solo that is one of the most emotional solos I've ever heard. It goes up there with Comfortably Numb for me. Really loved your reaction, as always.
I always thought Mark wasted some of his best music by letting Myles Kennedy torture us with his voice.
I never understood the video. I think maybe it shows how chaotic life can be (meteor shower) but a child will bring clarity to your life (the beach and mountain). The song is good though.
We are not our failures. We are not our mistakes. We can choose to be better. For the sake of our children, we must be better.
Love your beautiful smile! 😃♥️
thanks!
@@brittreacts You are very welcome my Beautiful Sweet Smiling Princess! 😃♥️XO💋
Creed was a Christian rock band from Florida the singers dad was a preacher. Probably the best rock band of the 2000s. I think it was the only band I bought the album to in the 2000s. Hope you do more every song they did was excellent. Until the singer went insane.
He didn’t go insane. He had a mental breakdown. He is currently sober and doing awesome! He has since released 3 solo albums!
@@tinakeith5822 yep insane. He thought he Elvis. What I read he had a chemical imbalance from all the d🤯ug's
This world is a very dangerous place. One must protect the ones we love. Nature vs nurture.
I had an bad stroke when this song came but went from an wheelchair too and cane too nothing and walking again love Creed songs .
Great song from them.always takes me back ❤
Creed was a christian band juggernaut So many number 1 hits. Scott Stapp was homeless for awhile
it's how you treat people.
As some call god, Or just be the kind person.
Meteor shower I think is to show, this is a major event in a persons life.. something life changing.. at least that's how I interpret it.
Love this song awesome reaction bring back memories in my life thank you for sharing yourvideo with us.👍
glad you enjoyed it!
Love this song, artist and group!♥️🙏
I'd love to see you react to more from Creed, other than this song, my favourites by them are "Higher", "One" and "My Sarifice"
I will keep those in mind, thanks!
Creed is from Florida but are called Alter Bridge now with a different singer.
One of my favorite songs. Check out my sacrifice and one last breath.
I think the meteor shower is the uncertainty we feel along with the joy and fear just turmoil of not wanting to mess it up and knowing we more then likely will.
Great reaction Britt!
thank youo!
In 71-72 we had a band Creed, we did mostly Beatles. I guess we were the first Creed. Jim
His wife i believe didn't know he wrote this song until he played it at concert
I think the video visuals are his world has been shook.
Btw his style is "grunge". Same as Pearl Jam, etc.
Post-Grunge
Not grunge
Beautiful Reaction! ♥️
thank you!
@@brittreacts You are very welcome my Beautiful Sweet Angel! 😃♥️XO💋
The music video the earth veing seeded to start life is metaphore for him and his child life begining on a smaller scale.
They were my first rock concert. I was super naive at the time, but they have a special place in the soundtrack of my life story. Thanks for your reaction 💖🦋
glad you enjoyed it!
BRITT, I SEEN A COUPLE OF PEOPLE MENTION MYLES KENNEDY FROM ALTER BRIDGE AND THERE'S A GREAT VIDEO THAT YOU SHOULD REACT TO OF MYLES KENNEDY COMING OUT ON STAGE DURING A DISTURBED CONCERT AND JOINING DAVID DRAIMAN FOR A RENDITION OF SOUND OF SILENCE!! IT IS EPIC!!!
The meteors could be described how some guys feel when they get hit with the weight of responsibility, being bombarded by our fears, sins, and imperfections. There’s waves of fire and waves of light that signal the retirement of one of two faces men wear in their lifetime.
Best Christian rock band of the 90’s
Some people hate this band becous they say it is over produced, but i like it and it is a chillband for me, i am a metal head but sometimes something softer is nice.
Try their song...My Sacrifice.
I will keep it in mind, thanks!
youtube is amazing. cuz creed is famously terrible. but reading these comments. . . they are all positive. people are here to enjoy creed. not something i have ever done. but i have to step back and marvel out how many actual real creed fans really do exist. i graduated high school in 2002, and i have never met anybody in my life who does not hate this band. but now i see you exist and you are out there connecting on youtube. it is a testament to the power of youtube to bring likeminded people together. before today i thought creed was universally despised. when i was in college people wore tshirts that said "god hates creed" with a picture of jesus covering his ears with his hands. . . but i see more clearly now. there are real true creed fans living on earth even to this day.
Lead singer Scott Stapp wrote this song when he found out he was about to become a father for the first time! 😃♥️🔥
