Hi Polly! I'm so glad this has helped you! Thank you for your reply. :) I have quite a lot of RUclips videos teaching different tunes, a little more than 50 tunes! Every month I teach a new tune. I think if you subscribe to my channel you'll be able to find them easier. I also have a Patreon page. For $1 a month you get the sheet music and an MP3 of the music. For $5/mo. you get that plus arrangements for beginners & intermediate harpers, and MP3's of both arrangements. You also get information on the song. www.patreon.com/aedanmacdonnell. Happy Harping!
Thank you! This is a really nice and simple version of Brian Boru's March which is playable even on my little 22 string without having going too much high in the strings! Thank you so much for sharing!
Someone asked what key this is in. The key *signature* is C (no sharps or flats). But it is in D Dorian. The Dorian and Mixolydian modes are used a lot in Celtic music.
I'm glad you like it! I'm now teaching and posting one Celtic tune a month. If you subscribe to my channel, you'll get notified when new videos come out. Happy Practicing!!
I'm so glad you find it helpful! I teach one new tune a month on RUclips. The latest is Childgrove, a fairly easy dance tune. ruclips.net/video/p26Y3CJA6ic/видео.html

Thank you! I'm so glad the video helped!! In case you're interested, I'm one of several teachers at the upcoming Virtual Harp Summit coming in September. The first week videos are free. You can get your free ticket at virtualharpsummit.com/?ref=288d24
Just using it will help to strengthen it. There are several exercises, which are difficult to explain via text, but one is to place all 4 fingers on the strings; while keeping the thumb and 2nd fingers on the strings, alternate playing the 4th & 3rd fingers, replacing each finger after you play it. I do teach via Skype if you're at all interested.
I am going to bend that finger a lot and try to strengthen it. I have learned to play Misty mountain tops of home. Next thing I'm learning is 'The Fairy kings" Its a bit harder to play.
Had it not been for this video I'd have never tackled this tune. Thank you!
You are most welcome! I'm glad it helped. I have many other videos teaching tunes on my channel. Please feel free to share. Happy Harping!
I'm really enjoying this version. I'm a beginner and your instructions are so good. Please do more. I'd love to play Loch Lomond using this method 🙂

Im kind of weak on the next to pinky finger
That finger tends to be weak. There's several different exercises you can do to strengthen it.
Thank you. It causes me not to want to use it..Do you have a particular thing as in exercise to strengthen it?

what kind of harp?
I'm playing a Dusty Strings FH36 harp. Which is in the category of lever harp, also called Celtic harp or folk harp.
Seems less bright than the other models. Is it?
This is a Dusty Strings FH36 in bubinga wood with a black finish.
