Look at the weapon’s passive skills and focus on those. Its not always about the weapon that has the highest ATK/MATK. Look at what stats boosts each weapon gives and slot your materia to capitalize on it. For example: Sonic strikers + First strike + haste + magnify + pray gives Tifa a quick and easy way to heal the party and boost ATB charging. This works better for Tifa since her speed is already high so her ATB bar charges quicker.

For Chapter 11, you can do Tomboy Bandti on HARD (at 1:59) so if you just want to do everything in one run, you can do both Tomboy Bandit and the Secret Stash sidequests on HARD one after the other in Chapter 9 to save some time (but then you'll have to fight the House on hard, so it's your choice :) )
@@ghost656metal8 almost like it was designed for replay value. we have plenty of time until the next installment!
Volume 11?
Really should pin this comment you made for those who may rely on this video.
also maybe worth noting, the only "hidden" manuscript in hard mode is in ch6, where you (in normal playthrough) found the choco&mog materia
You mean the materia I missed, because when it asked if I wanted a materia I saw, I thought they meant the one across the broken bridge :(
it's that one for Tifa though?
@@daggumnametaken I did the exact same thing my first play through. I'm glad I checked that chest when I grabbed it on hard mode, because I had been skipping chest everywhere else since you can't even use items.
How to get all manuscripts: play the game on hard
Yea this video was too long just to say what u said
You forgot: Do all side quests and Coliseum battles on normal and hard too. But yeah that's pretty much it.
Basically 😂😂, too much text
I actually missed a few when i beat it on hard
You're all wrong but cool lol
I was wondering if we can unlock everything. Glad it's the case. Some of the weapons can definitely be hybrids and it was painful to go with attack dmg and sacrifice magic or viceversa.
Justsum1 lol I don’t agree you’re talking to a guy who beat the game using the nail bat and will not give it up even in hard mode.
I prefer to have as much damage of one type as possible, have a mele character, magic character, and DPS character on my team at all times. Every strategy has its weak points though but thankfully every character has the ability to be able to at least revive and heal other characters if need be. All balanced characters just don’t seem as fun or strategic to me for some reason as having specialized characters(probably because old final fantasy games have the characters specific to their own play style)
@@Jmack7861 Well, the good thing about this weapon system is that you can turn every character into a mage, dps dealer, tank or whatever just by changing its weapon and materias. Sounds like a big positive to me
Captain Caveman I slightly disagree. I have a luck up materia and the weapon leveled up in all of it’s crits and luck bonuses as well and the combination is more devastating than any weapon I’ve used yet. Crit city! If you’re a good materia mixer you can turn your weapon into a living beast!
Soooo basically buy one from store do colosseum challenges and play side quests and main quests on hard
Not really, only a few side quests on hard give you these so if you play them all and already have the trophy for all the quests then you would be wasting a lot of time doing so.
Niause keep the good work
FYI, the manuscripts are NOT available in chapter 9 on your first playthrough because the Shinra Thugs fights are not available - you can only play the Shinra Thugs in Chapter 14, or a "replay" of chapter 9 after finishing the game - in which case you've already played Chapter 14.
There's a huge amount of false information about when things are and are not available because all of the guides are written by people who are doing replays.
Awesome video bro.
I finished the gave recently and personally can’t be bothered to play the game again to level up for no reason. But then again I just play for the story as I loved the first game
have you replayed final fantasy 7 remake on hard mode yet
@@supersaiyaman11589 probably not, it's way too hard for me, I know it's probably cause of my build but it's really hard
Do you get SP for weapon level by leveling up every 10 levels?
Scorpion Sentinel is actually the first boss with the Volume for Barrett.
to get sam's side quest
1. play his game "heads or "tails"
2. follow Johnny and answer "yeah"
3. Pay for poor man massage
to get Madam M's side quets
1. NO deal with Sam
2. ignore Johnny
3. pay for luxurious massage
all the other dialog options are irrelevant... this also decides what dress Cloud wears...
Sam - black and blue corset dress
Madam M - white violet dress
Clouds basic dress - do not do any side quests
I said "No deal" to Sam and still got his side quest, so I wonder if that is irrelevant, or do you have the (step 1)s mixed up? I haven't done the other route for that chapter yet, so I can't speak to that.
iNcΣpXn it’s a total of “Route points” there are more that can change the quest route. Like the hotel owner asking cloud if he wants a room will also affect it, as will grabbing or refusing johnny’s drink.
Those are avoidable tho so just keep the most points of Route A or B and ignore the extra
Yo I’m scared of the house on both normal and hard mode especially but you’re telling me I have to do it again but this time it has help *sighs* the price of power is steep
This game is all about purple materia my dude. They make you a literal power house. First strike at assist atb stagger do amazing things for you without even realizing it because the game don't want you to mash square they want you to use your abilities and spells
@@Nonlifting_breezy yah hard mode i use a lot more of my abilities than i did on normal. you have to play completely different than you did on normal because of the changes in how you have to fight
Hellhouse on hard mode: cast bioga on Hellhouse, triple Slash any tonberries as they fall out of the door, repeat, profit
@@supersaiyaman11589 house is vulnerable to poison. And the effects last right till the match ends. Plus you can use all element type materia when it changes
I watch it a few times great help but you skip manuscript 11 or i really can't find it in the video..
should be in the Tomboy Bandit sidequest
Thanks man +like &sub
*Choose "NO DEAL" for Sam's coin flip to increase your chance at getting Madam M's side quests.
I'd you want madam M's side quest say no deal then buy the 3000 gil massage. For Sam pick heads or tales, then poor man's (100gil?) Massage.
@@michaelflatt4663
No, just pick all the bottom choices and ignore Jonny, the inn and don't drink the what bottle were you talk to Jonny in the colosseum for M's quest.
For Sam's, pick all top ones and interact woth the inn, Jonny and dick the bottle.
There's no chance involved at all
Do you have to finish chapter 9 to keep the manuscripts?
How do i get all sp for tifa? I’m still missing 10 sp
Help pls...
So the books give you so but what about the cores that are still missing when u finish everything on normal?
Jeez! I swear! In chapter 9 i just did the route 1 as you described but i got the 'Dynamite Body Sidequest' and so the Vol.X at the end :/
PS: The House in Hard mode not exactly a walk in the park (at least for me lol)
It’s actually pretty easy. Not the easiest but far from impossible
@@jaatown23 poison helps a lot
If you skip chapter 9 and 14 can u re-visit for volume 2?
I beat Rufus on hard but it won't let me keep the manuscripts after i beat him since right after you transition into the Arsenal fight.
Are you going to do one for Tifa and Aerith?????
This definitely makes aerith better
The only thing that is necessary to Madam M's route is ignoring Johnny and paying for the Luxury massage.
You can also say no to Johnny and get the route with the pricey massage.
I did both things and still end up with Sam, it’s really confusing
@@tobiaglorio it's not, just some guides ignores the other stuff like the description of tifa to sam, the mystery drink, the coin flip. There a lot more then just hand massage and Johnny.
those chapter 9 colloseum challenges dont show up in my game. Only challenges I have are 1vswild beasts and 2voutlaws. So i think the 1vs shinra is chapter 14? Which would make the first time you can get Vol II not chapter 9 but 14. Cant confirm as im not up to chapter 14 yet, but I definitely didnt see the Clould vs Shinra or Aerith vs Shinra in chapter 9.
You can always go back and do them after finishing the main story. The Challenges in Chapter 9 can all be done on Normal and I think even Easy.
Same as me. Cant find the battle that give sp points reward
Available on chapter 14 even on normal difficulty gameplay
@Captain Caveman Lol! It's not about "nutting up" - it's about inaccurate information in this video. Saying you can get Cloud and Aerith's V2 Book in Chapter 9 on Normal, implies you can get it the first time you visit - but you can't. The battles don't show up. Even if you can complete the battles on Normal after you beat the game (using Chapter Select), then that should have been explained in the video.
@Captain Caveman Okay, so if you didn't need help then why are you here? You just like watching videos for items in games you don't need :)?
Should put time stamps for this
So what about vol.11?? how do I get that one?
question: does the weapons go to level 6. Right now Im level 5 & i guess i have 4 points to get 250 & complete the level circle for Cloud.
Yes they do, as you unlock more of the skills within the weapons, they reach level 6 which is max.
So we all have to play chapter 9 two times to get all manuscripts for cloud???
Three. If you also want to get all of the bridal dresses for the trophy
Even more if you want to get all the chapter 14 resolutions.
I can't guarantee this, but from what I've red around and from my own experiences with the game, the only real choice to get Madam M or Sam quests is talking to Johnny or not, if you talk to him triggering the vagabond Johnny event you get Sam's quests, if you don't you get Madam M's quests, the massage prices are just for the 3 different funny scenes (although paying 3k if you want to do Madam M's quests might be a thing as she makes a reference to the massage in the dialogue, I still don't think it matters but money should be limitless on your hard run so no point being stingy) and all the other dialogue options are only related to which character will appear in the "romantic" scene in chapter 14.
This might actually be the case since on my third time thru the chapter, I chose the poor man’s massage and I still got offered Madam M’s quests.
i actually talked with johnny and agreed with him and still got madam m's quest on my playthrough. im more inclined to think the deciding factor is the type of massage you get from her.
ya i have 500 thousand gill right now lol
So since this is all for cloud, how do you get the rest of the manuscripts for everyone else? Or do they have more? I'm confused
Mostly are gotten through fighting the boss and side quests in hard mode. In chapter 9 you have to get Madam M side quest then Chocobo Sam side quest. Then, the collosseum battle, and also Shinra VR battle. Hope this helps you
Is there any point to unlocking all the sp other than having them? Like secret boss that requires you be maxed out?
More like you actually need the in order to beat some secret bosses
@Captain Caveman "not even close", well, I'd say that once you get to Weapon Level 6 it's all about strategy and skills, yeah
I misused the word "need", what I meant to say is just that they can come in handy and I really want to believe that they're useful so I have a good reason to play this game as much as possible
It's too damn short if you ask me
And lacks "endgame" content
When part 2 is out you will be glad you have them all
@@slyobserver619 somehow I doubt it'll transfer over. There probably will be a narrative reason as to why your materia and sp has to start from scratch again.
@@hayatelaguna7599 true. I am still getting them all now as i am playing through on Hard anyway and want to do every boss fight on hard
So how many manuscript should I have at the end of a regular playthrough? And by the way, this is what I got so far:
Cloud:
3 manuscripts were obtained, but "The Art of Swordplay Vol III" is missing because "Corneo's Secret Stash" side quest wasn't completed.
Any other manuscript for Cloud, a whopping total of 11, can only be obtained while playing "hard mode" (HM).
---
Barret:
Similarly 2 manuscripts were obtained, but "The Sharpshooter's Companion Vol. III" is missing because "The Power of Music" side quest wasn't completed,
and "Legacy: Catastrophe Limit Break" is also missing because something was not done.
Any other manuscript for Barret, again a whopping total of 11, can only be obtained while playing HM.
---
Tifa:
All 4 possible manuscripts were obtained during the regular playthrough, but the rest, again a whopping total of 11 manuscripts, can ONLY be obtained while playing HM.
---
Aerith:
2 manuscripts were obtained during the regular playthrough, but "Telluric Scriptures Vol. II" & "Legacy: Planet's Protection Limit Break" are missing because of
failure to do possible some stupid side quests.
The rest of the manuscripts, AGAIN a whopping total of 11, can ONLY be obtained while playing HM.
Yesterday, I tried to complete one random chapter on HM, but after so much frustration, I gave up. So eventually I will try to star on chapter 1 to see if I can do it, but before I need to complete whatever I missed in my first playthrough to give a better chance to try HM.
Thank you for your video.
Don’t go straight to hard mode. Using chapter select level your characters and materia. The most popular method for this is chapter 16 garage (first area of chapter, 5 battles, save, restart chapter, repeat process). You can do that farm in east mode to speed it up.
Do you have complete the chapter or just kill the bosses?
You have to kill specific bosses for each chapter on hardmode or do specific quests on hard mode for certain chapters. So technically yes you do have to complete the chapter.
Huh so im missing 8 and 9 :o but how
Besides SP what else do manuscripts do?
Nothing, they just give you SP
I heard someone killed reno as frog in hardmode
Sheesh so the Ch. 9 quest can only be done on hard and I have to re-do Ch. 9 twice. 1st time for Madam M quest after defeating hell house on hard. Then a second time to complete sams quest so I would have to beat hell house *again* on hard mode. 🥶
Yes, but hellhouse can be easy. Make sure you get fire, ice, lightning and wind in your party. From here just use the spell opposite to the house barrier ( you can see the resistance changing every like minute or so using the controller pad if you assessed the house before) if you do this you can take the boss down in like 5 minutes tops even on hard. Also kill the small adds when they spawn cause they can one shot you but have only 2k hp.
BlackBlood Poison works very hell on house as well. Nice damage over time along with the other weak elements. You got this
Also Hell house uses fire in its rockets boosters so you can get healed from them with elemental + fire materia on armor.
I have a question, I have almost all manuscripts from hard mode but it doesn’t look like it will be enough sp to max out my weapons.... can you confirm all manuscripts max out your weapons or do you have to rebuild with Chadley to better value?
He literally said at the end of the video that if you collect all manuscripts that you can upgrade all cores of the weapons.
@@geneal1989 I have gotten all manuscripts for all characters and there is still some cores that haven't been unlocked. So what you talking about.
@@chrisrowry4358 already forgotten about this haha already 100% the game. All I remember is you need to go through the game(including hard mode) with all manuscripts. I have all cores open and maxed weapons so I don't know what you are talking about .
@@geneal1989 that's what I'm trying to do. But do I reset all the weapons and just start on playing it again. I ha e no clue on what to do and none of these channels are helping me.
@@chrisrowry4358 don't know if you're still working on this, but have you done all side quests/coliseum/vr? Or is it for another character?
Im loving the game so far but I hate when they force you to play again if you want to complete everything.
Nothing to do with this video but, I keep reading that you can see an enemies assessed data by using the D-pad. I cant get it to work for me though. It just changes selected enemy.
Pressing touchbar brings it up :)
@@EndOfTheDawn Thanks!
Ahhh, I am missing 2 and it’s so annoying!!!
Edit: alright I’m missing VIII and IX where is 8??
Yo! WHERE'S 11th MANUSCRIPT???
Thinking that quest routes in chapter 9 are all about Jonny. not the what dialog choices.
How do you get level 6 weapons ?
To get level 6 weapons, you need to reach 250 SP.
You only get up to 246 SP in Easy/Normal difficulty, so you need to get at least one manuscript (10 SP) from Hard Mode to meet the requirement.
How about 11. 11 was never discussed
Exactly
So we all have to do chapter 9 two times to get all manuscripts fo cloud???
@Captain Caveman no, i mean, two times IN HARD MODE to get both side quest lines, right? I already did the first playthrough, im in hard mode now, but it appears you have to do chap.9 two times in hard mode to get all the manuscripts for cloud
I did both sam and the Madam M route and didn't get the manuscript for it. so i think both have to be done on hard difficulty.
@@rdraken you did both on normal?
@@josequiles7 i did the sam on my first playthrough and i did the madam m on my second normal playthrough and none of the manuscripts for that chapter were unlocked

Can someone please help me figure out why I don’t have all the weapon sub cores and I have beat the game
And I’m weapon level 6 I’m so confused
Late answer, but some weapons have less subcores.
Pretty much just beat every boss and do all the side-quest. I got all of them for every character and i wasn't even looking at any guides.
I need to know how you were able to beat hard mode. I can't even beat the first boss. I get comboed to death.
@@asra-5180 grind to max lvl, learn all attacks, and lvl up your materia in the Colosseum (you'll get 2x XP, and 3x AP post-game) before you start the game on hard. Don't use mp on hard unless you really need to (stick to abilities), Chakra and Prayer materias are essential on hard, HP+ and MP+ are useful as well - all characters should have them. When you're about to kill the last of the mobs, and you're at 1/2HP with your party, don't kill them yet, build your ATB and use prayer. It helps to equip every character with healing and revive materia, too, I had magnify+heal on Cloud most of the hard playthrough since he's always around, sometimes I'd use magnify+barrier for harder bosses, that could wipe out your team with their ultimate attack (like Bahamut). If you know who you're fighting against, equipping elemental+fire/wind/ice/lightning to your armor will absorb the type of damage they're dealing and heal you, which also makes a big difference.
Heal on benches when you're in the field, use spells only when there are boxes lying around that can replenish your MP (ideally with magnify to preserve MP). Knowing characters' abilities is key, too - focus attacks are useful for staggering enemies, Tifa can raise the stagger damage% fast, Barret's triangle attack is useful and it gives your ATB a boost, Cloud can counter, Aeris's basic attack is magical, so you can can use her on enemies with physical damage immunity.
Well done
I still don’t know how to use the manuscripts
@@ilan8468 I don't really remember the details, but I'm pretty sure you just got a skill point upon finding it, there was no need to use them in any way.
Are you joraptor? Sounds the same voice
For Ch. 9, the ONLY thing that makes a difference is which massage you choose from Madam M. 100 gil for Route A, Sam’s Requests / 3000 gil for Route B, Madam M’s Requests
First play I'm at chapter 9 and I do t see those battle for the second book
Need to play in hard mode to get those assylum fights
exit the coliseum battle menu and then talk to the guy again to open the battle menu. If you're looking for the battle for the book immediately after your first coliseum fight, you won't see it in the menu. it should be there once you close the menu and talk to the guy to open it again.
FatBoyJACKED do we have to finish the whole game first?
So just beat the game on hard mode to get all the scripts
yes that is correct
And basically do all Side Quests on Hard lol.
♡♡♡♡♡
1:40 tifa should not be drawing attention to her chest in the middle of wall market.
I got to fight that damn hell house on hard again. UUUUGH
AYCHMENG I have to fight it 3 more times... I just beat the game I fucked up and didn’t Aeriths stuff in the arena the first time... so I have Time do that... then grind the game to for experience, to prep for hard.
Stevey Hooves God bless you sir. Anyone who can beat that house no problem my hat off to you I absolutely hated this fight. The toneberry’s if you are not quick enough to get to the next phase then sweepy and cutty at the end. Cloud’s physical attacks are useless in the later stages of this fight. Aerith shines here.
@@AYCHMENG and then of course there's the damn issue of mp management in hard mode.... chapter 9 and 17 were the absolute worst and i'm not fighting the damn house again for 10 sp on cloud xD (managed to get plat without it).

How are any of these "secret“!?
Not really secret but more like the game doesn't exactly tell you where to get them besides that you have have to do Hard Mode
@Captain Caveman well Hard mode is challenging so in this it is the correct useage right

@@nicholasnajibi3082 secret implies missable, none of the scrolls are missable items.
Nomura thing, to hide 'manuscripts'.
But in this game it's all scriptures, or essentially 'SP' items.
I have a proble is my aeirth weapon have max but SP are missing I need 14 SP but my aierth weapon are max, I cant get aierth 5 material slot :( does anybody know how to fix a solution?
If you have SP missing it is not Max. I think you may have Manuscripts missing? Look at your Chapter Selection tab and look for a page icon next to the chapter. If you have one that will be a Manuscript for someone., maybe Aerith. I have all Weapons Max, it's nice to see the true comparisons among each other.
U missed 2 script
I was going for all manuscripts until the hard fight with Rufus made me lose interest in the game.
You’re missing a few bud
Jesus fuckin christ upgrading weapons with all these side quest seems so convoluted.
Well mate, the OG FF VII was even more convoluted. Borderline egregious.
Wow... All of this doesn't seem worth it. I beat the game once on normal and that's good enough for me.
The game play is actually more fun on hard mode
I feel more fulfilled playing in hard mode you have to plan out your materia set up especially the last to final chapter ive been using prayer to heal my team to save Mp for the last string of bosses
There also are a couple extra bosses on hard mode
First
I hate chapter 9!
This is way too much work lol.
The manuscripts are hidden behind the sidequests? LMAO, that's fucking terrible.
Whats the point tho, this game had so much hype but it was a huge let down from the battle system to lack of secrets and general content not even touching on the awkward voice acting. AND nothing will carry over to the other games which diminishes trying to min max the characters which is what a majority of FF players want to do.
Bigfatlip how do you know what your saying wait and see what’s to come
Well Agree. I dont like the idea of redoing the game in Hard difficulty to min max stuff. I like only one difficult stage. And having Bosses like Rubin and Saphir Ultima, where you have to be prepared and have to go all out. Also I dont like the idea to re-do every quests 2-3 times, just to trigger other option. The quests are boring and you just wasting time with filler stuff.
I really hate doing repeat stuff over and over and over. Not talking about grinding for exp. But doing same quests, same bosses, same chapter for basicly nothing.
This why I only rated ff7 remake as 7-7,5 out of 10.
The game is short in term of story. Rest are filler parts. Story is only 10 hour long with all the cutscenes. First speed runs are now done past 7 hours. We will see past 6 hours soon. Most time wasted on breaking up the cut scenes and loading screen and the boss 1-3 phase animations.
Bigfatlip everything you just said was wrong and comes off more like your own idiosyncrasies than reality. Awkward voice acting??? Lol. GTFO. This game has great voice acting, and the combat is the best hybrid of real time and turn based anyone could ask for.
@@robbhebert3288 I also think the battle is the best. I,ve seen so far. Synchro is great on main chars. The side chars in German, Frensh is horrible. English is better but still not good. Cant discuss on Korean, this should be good. But Musik and Synchro for main chars is extrem extrem good. The best I,ve heared so far.
The gameplay is so good you’re tripping
