You managed to say absolutely nothing about these that's not publicly available except the 254F has the stronger fabricated mower deck vs the stamped deck the 254 has..
Otherwise they are exactly the same.
Oh and I own the 254F and never ever got bogged down in any slopes or hills.
It's a 54 inch deck on the F and it's super sturdy

2 weeks ago bought Z254F special edition, I live on 5.5 acres, had only mowed around the house this summer with push mower, fields were 2 feet high with thick grass and weeds. It did great, I had to go slow and make two passes but now my fields look like a lawn at about 4 inches high. Great mower, lots of power. When not mowing, it will be in my garage and well maintained. Love it. The special edition has; aggressive tread tires, higher back on the seat and a black painted mower deck, I like having the more aggressive tires for the traction.
This is exactly what I was looking for. straight up comparison. No fluff no BS. Thanks

I had the 17 Z254 and loved it, except I wish it was faster. Just bought a 21 Z254F and have really mowed as the grass is not grown yet. But I did use it and it seemed ok. But some reason I like the Z254. We will see and good luck to any zero turn mower this year.
I've had the z254 for years. Never a min of trouble. Performs well just doesn't hold well on hills. I'm thinking of getting the z254f now

The z254f does to cut very well up hill. It preforms very well through high(10') grass to low grass. Pretty fuel efficient. Not super fast no but not really that slow either.

I have the Z254F and have mowed with it about 5X. I love its speed and ease of use. It's actually not a bad mower at all, but it does need larger rear tires for turning and going across a hill. Other than that, I have no complaints as of yet.
I have the z254f. My only complaint is the tires. They are so small. I slip everywhere. Can’t seem to find a more aggressive tire.

I have the same mower, and the same complaint. I have rough tread tires on it from the factory and I had to let air out down to 15lbs. It has 24psi in them! It helped a lot but it still needs a larger tire, not more aggressive.
So if you are mowing uphill at all this mower is no good?
It will do fine on smaller hills if it is a steep grade though there have been reports of troubles.

They are both good products.
The F is a special edition and has a heavier duty deck.

Our writers did not state this well. Yes if the hill is super steep you are going to have trouble but most normal grades you will find on your property it will be fine.
Buy neither one. It's a garbage mower. I have 40hrs on mine and cut only 1 acre of grass and it keeps giving me problems. Very weak uphill and bogs down on a bit taller grass. Transmission belt keeps slipping off. Bad product over all

I saw a vid on here where a guy doubled the springs for the drive belt to cure his problem.
What size axle one inch or 3/4
Whatever you do DON’T get the F (fabricated)deck,for the love of God,takes me longer to clean under the deck than it does to mow my lawn,dread mowing the lawn now,no problem with the mower itself just the God awful deck,get the stamped deck instead
