I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.

I was considering this unit because the build quality looked a lot better than some of the other options at the box store. Ultimately, I decided on the SCAG Liberty Z (36”). I know these aren’t at the same price point, but I felt like the differences and the ability to get it serviced locally were well worth the delta in price. Like many people, I had a budget around 3k, but an eye for the 10k rig, lol.
I was using a Honda push mower for the last three years and have been expanding my lawn into the woods and it’s been taking me increasingly long periods of time to complete my lawn. I finally pulled the trigger on a zero turn a couple of days ago and have reduced my time mowing by 80% and my physical labor entirely. The cut quality surpassed my expectations utterly. I could not be happier with my zero turn and regardless of what you actually decide to get (brand) your yard work is going to get infinitely more enjoyable. I’m so happy I finally got one.

Ever seen a loose parking brake (on the handlebar parking brake like this one) where anytime you try and leave the handlebar parking brake engaged to get off the mower while leaving the engine on and the loose handle gradually comes out of park and the engine turns off?
I have the z254f and have had the issue for about one year. I just haven't seen anyone have the issue or seen a fix.
Thanks for your review. The z254f has been a great residential mower for 3.5 years running now. I look forward to many good years to come

I guess i got lucky on my Z254. Purchased summer of 21, from Lowe's. Due to multiple missed delivery dates on their part and price matching, I ended up getting mine for ~$2600 with $200 store gift card.

It's all good with the exception of the fuel distribution system, especially the fuel pump! Anticipate going through fuel pumps like a duck through water. I've owned my ZT for 7 years now and go through twice yearly maintenance which includes Seafoam at the start and end of each mowing season. Never-the- less, the damn fuel pump goes out once a year. PS, Beware the Amazon look-alike aftermarket parts.....what a hassle!

@Jeff Conard No. When I started shopping for a zero turn a couple of years ago, Ariens had a residential model with serviceable hydrostatic transmissions for about $4k. Bad Boy has one for about $5k with commercial quality transmissions. I was originally leaning towards the Ariens but reviews rated customer satisfaction very poorly when encountering a problem and having it resolved thru Ariens. Most of the zero turn mower manufacturers use the same engine and transmission configurations. I am now leaning towards the Bad Boy ZT Elite.

I bought a Z254 and its rubbish. The hinge points all tore from the stamped deck, the front lip has a reinforcing trim which keeps breaking away, the under deck 'channels' have broken away and ruined a set of blades, and the electrics are troublesome, the engine is LOUD and generates a lot of heat. Its hard on the belt - I've gone through three already and they are expensive. I have owned this mower for at least four years and its not capable of cutting my 2.5 acres. My TORO Timecutter, however, makes short work of the property and I bought that second hand over ten years ago. Leavers the Husqvarna for dead!

Husqvarna has a very bad reputation. Their equipment constantly breaks down and needs repairs. Just look up the reviews and also, I have personal experience with their products. If you try to contact them, you will never get to talk to a human. I have a Husqvarna P-ZT5224 it spends more time in the shop than we do mowing with it. I need a good strong commercial 54" or 60" mower for ten plus acres weekly use.
