I bought my Mustang 50 to replace my "almost: ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend worn out John Deere L120 (48" Cut - 20 HP Briggs). First off - I can now mow my almost 3 acres in about 1/2 the time it took with my other mower... I have had the Mustang 50 for almost 2 years now... Maintenance is easy - the Kohler Motor is "out in the open" and everything, except for the oil filter, is VERY easy to get to... To change the oil filter I have learned to fold the seat forward - no problem now... The deck is SUPER easy to drop... Rememb..
My grand father has had his gravely for 15 years. It’s commercial not residential and it has been under water for 4 days when it flooded, and still runs to this day. When buying a mower for your home. Without a doubt by a commercial they last twice as long and are worth the money. Never buy a stamp deck an ant hill will put a dent in it. If your going to buy a zero turn fork over the difference in cash because you’ll thank me one day. Ferris, bad boy and gravely are some good options. Also anything over 2 blades won’t cut any better the quality of the cut gets worse.
I have the Husqvarna Z254F and that thing is a beast. I have had it for 3 years now and it is still in top shape. Just changes the oil, filters, sparkplugs and blades and it is ready to go again.
I would never buy another Husqvarna again. I bought a Z248F last year and had just under 50 hours on it as of July this year. While mowing the lawn, I heard a weird noise and then what sounded like a metal on metal grinding. That was when I found out Husqvarna knowingly sent out mowing decks with bad welds on them. The entire right side of my mowing deck cracked in half and sent the blade guard through the blades. It is now almost September, the Husqvarna dealer has had my mower since July 5th and do not know when they will be able to complete the warranty work, because Husqvarna has prioritized new mower sales over warranty fixes and will not send a new mowing deck. A mower is only as good as the company that stands behind them and Husqvarna does not stand behind their mowers.
Change that transmission oil. They say it'l s a sealed transmission but it's not. Change it every three years. it's not hard. There's instructions on youtube. I learned the hard way. I've had a RZ 2454 since 2008. 24 hp kohler has been great. The body is a little flimsy but that's not bad because it makes it lighter if you get stuck or want to work on it. Heavier duty ones are, heavier of course. If it's not too heavy you can man handle them better such as flipping the deck or getting stuck in a ditch. I replace both transaxles because I didn't change the trans nission fluid or 15-150 weight oil. Change that transmisson oil.
I bought a Hustler Z 60" 14 years ago for my six acres and never regretted it. A $3000 mower is too light duty for my usage level. The Kawasaki engine gets my vote. 800+ hours and it runs better than new. Zero oil consumption and instant starts. Full flow oil filter and a $4 Toyota oil filter interchanges with the Kaw. I do like the Husqvarna from all the features but I'd have to try the seat. I have a friend with a one-acre property who I will advise to have a look. I would not buy anything that might need dealer attention from a big box store. Just not going to be there for you for instant parts access.
My Kawasaki on my 2012 Toro Timecutter SUX! - The governor has always had to be adjusted ever so often and now it's leaking oil bad. Leaks gas into the oil periodically. I'm looking for a new zero now but going with a Kohler 7000 for a tad less. Guess I will see? Just scared to try another expensive Kawa-sucki
How about the Toro Time Cutter? 50” cut and actually has suspension for the seat. Anyones who’s spent longer than 2-3 hrs cutting realize quickly that even a minor type seat suspension helps your back and butt immensely .
Definitely my dad has always hated zero turns but I talked him into trying a Ferris is700 and buying one of those suspension seats we also added 2 bolt on handle post with a step on the front and he loves it easy on easy off and a comfortable ride
I wish I had a seat with suspension The husky has no suspension and will kill your back Sometimes I wish I put on my kidney belt that I wear dirt bike riding lol
I currently own a Husquvarna Rider 16 which was purchased in 2001 for $3,200.00. Its now starting to give me problems with starting. We have replaced the carb, starter solenoid, and ignition switch still will no turn over when moving the key to the start position. I will be sending it in to get an evaluation on this machine as to weather to keep it or move it on. Anyhow have owned it for 21 years and up until now going strong. The stamped deck is holding up very good and with all of the rocks we grow around here its holding up very well. This top 10 will help me decide on which to possibly purchase when its time.
Cub cadet zt1 ultima is a great machine. I have a 2019 cub cadet zt1 ultima with a 50 inch fabricated deck and it has a 23 hp kawasaki motor. So far only needed a set of blades.
Really don’t like the cut quality and the leds already went out . Now having transmission issues and bearing issues on the deck .Also tends to hold a lot of grass on the Deck and under it .Not to mention the standard two ply tires . Nothing but problems .
@@kylestivers4606 the problem is that people never own cub cadet like the one in the video they start making up story if you never own a Cub cadet your opinion don’t count I have one for 2 years and never had a problem
Yeah, I had an older ZTR for about 15 years and traded in for a new ZT1 this year. So far, no problems and I'm happy with it. The thing is, I was looking at the Ariens, but with the supply chain issues, my dealer wasn't able to get one and he was barely able to get me the Cub Cadet. Anyway, so far, so good. No issues yet and I'm happy with the cut quality.
I bought a Ariens Edge with a 34 in cut about 2 years ago and it had a bad vibration when engaging the blades, sent it for warranty work and they just put a new belt on it, brought it back and same bad vibration. So sent it back and after dealing with the manufacturer they decided to replace the deck, spindles and blades which didn't solve the problem, then again after about 2 weeks replaced the what they called the extension shaft. So I was without my mower for about a month. Good thing I got the extended warranty. Of course the dealer authorize shop in my opinion didn't know how to repair it and didn't know what they were doing. They would use your mower to cut there grass and not even clean it up. My mower came back with grass clippings on it and a scratch on it. I prefer a B&S engine the Kohler is $100.00 more but parts are more expensive than B&S. I still have a Dixon 2005 Speed ZTR with a B&S 30 in cut I bought for $100.00 back in 9--8-16 that is still running and in good operation.
Just bought the John Deere Z345 for 2,999$. Couldn't pass it up for price and more importantly today, AVAILABILITY! Great reviews on all top 5. I had my eye on all 5myself. Happy trails!
On this list which one would you pick from the number 1. 2. & 3 spots on this list for some one like me... less than 2 acres of very flat yard who cuts my yard about once a week here in Southern Ohio. ?? Thanks for your advice.
@@robertsalyers1351 All depends on the dealers in your area. In my area, Cub Cadets, sold at Farm & Fleet stores, and are sent off to be serviced, so long waits. The other brand that had the stamped deck, I would avoid (don't cut even in tight unlevel turns.). Ariens, there's a dealer in my area,, that that's all they sell, great family biz, bend over backwards for you, that's the one of these I would buy if I hadn't bought a Toro 54' for $4,200 2 weeks ago, and love it. Bought a Toro push mower drastically reduced at a big box store 5 yrs ago, best push mower I've ever owned. So expect that quality in the riding mower. Just be careful to get a name brand engine, no name engines are chinese knock offs of the Honda engine, so reliability is questionable.
I bought a 46" Husqvarna riding mower used about 5 years ago (bought it from a guy who only had it a year but said it was too big for his yard) and I've put that mower through some very hard work around the small 22 acre farm, from basic yard mowing to mowing some brush along the fence in the fall and using it to pull a 16' landscape trailer to haul tree branches out of the field (probably over kill for that mower). I'm actually surprised that mower held up as long as it has, I've replaced the blades a couples times, new deck belts here and there, some tie rods, it's on it's 2nd drive belt, had to replace some pullies and a deck spindle, some welding on the deck, but through all that the hydrostat is still going strong and no complaints from the engine, the parts I've replaced were going to fail eventually I probably sped things up. I've been thinking about getting my first zero turn and if I do it's going to be a Husqvarna.
I've had a Husqvarna Zero Turn mower 7 years on a 5 acre farm. Couldn't be happier overall. Replaced belts, blades, solenoids putting it thru it's paces. Good mulcher blades means no grass pickup - chops it to rice! Use sharpened crappy blades for brush chopping, gopher/mole hill leveling/dirt packing and blackberries. Cup or brew holder too!
I picked up a z246 zero last fall for next to nothing. It is a long story but a farm supply had it and a customer brought it back after 4.5 hours. They sent it to a repair shop that was local and a authorized repair center. But it was the fall so they did not ask for it back until the new mowing year. The flywheel key had sheared off and it had to be pulled and replaced so they did that but they left it setting outside all winter. Yeah someones brand new mower. So the next spring dude went to pick it up and the repair shop was like here you go. The dude said no mine was new. They explained it was his but the plastic and labels was faded as well as the seat starting to already crack. So the owner blows up and tells the farm center i brought it back to you because it broke after so little use I want a new one. So they gave him a brand new one. This is a 2020 model and it is spring 2021. But Farm center guy said it just set in the back room for 2 years and the manager got tired of looking at it. He put a sign on it.. AS IS I think it needs a battery and belt. So it was marked at a fraction of a new mower. So I asked if I could put a battery in it and if it kinda runs and the hydros worked I would buy it, if not could I return the battery? He said sure, so it had no key either and I bought one of those and a battery and put in it and it fired right up. it moved under its own power and the blades tried to come on but you could tell something was off. So I said sold and I purchased a 3 year old mower with less than 5 hours for $200 plus tax and battery and key. I get it home and seen the blade tensioner spring is gone and I had one that fit off another mower so I put it on and they spun up but was clanking and the blade was scraping the ground. Apparently he hit something so hard it bent a blade and broke a spindle and sheared the flywheel key. So 2 days ago I put new blades and spindle on it and it mows like a brand new mower. I have just over $300 in it after tax and parts. The dude never even cut the factory shipping ire to secure the deck it was wired up. I have only used it once but OMG it cuts smooth. I never had a mower make such a nice cut. I put G3 blades on it.
I’ve had a Toro, it was ok. Then I bought a Bad Boy, LOVED IT! When I moved to a house with a smaller yard I traded in the Bad Boy for a smaller Bad Boy 🙂
My Toro is done and was about to get the Bad Boy Rambler with a 22 Kohler. I drug around and waited a day too late. They sold out of the Rambler with the 22hp,(due to manufacture supply problem) then started subbing it with a 19hp Briggs for the same freakin price! No thx!
After working at the John Deere plant in Greeneville, Tennessee a few years back, I will say a strong NO for their mowers. Too many discrepancies in the manufacturing process and after seeing how a vendor issue was handled I will never buy another JD product. I ended up buying a Craftsman Z560 zero turn two years ago, and I must say I have been well pleased with it thus far. And with my military discount at Lowes, I came in just over $2800.
I used to be concerned about “box store hydros”….(Hydro Gear 2100, 2200, EZT) as they are essentially unserviceable- but after 3 years at at ZT dealer and mower repair shop what we’ve seen is very little hydro wheel motor failures but scads of rear hydro axel failures in front engine lawn tractors by ALL OEMs. Presently our #1 cause to cannabalize machines.
End of last year I was looking for a used Hustler, had my heart set on it. But, they were expensive and if not, they were already sold. Found a Big Dog 54" with 18.5 hrs for $2500. Bought it, found out it's made by HUSTLER ! SCORE !!! I like it but need to get used to that skid steer twitchy steering.
I can't believe how cheaply, American's can buy a Zero turn mower for. I paid $7,500 for my MZ52 Husqvarna, secondhand. Sure, it only had a hundred hrs on it, and not a scratch. But new it would have set me back $13,500. I'm sure some top of the range commercial mowers in America might be pricey, but here, in Australia, I've seen Zero Turns at $27,000.
@@GeneralChangFromDanang That's music to my ears..."cheap". We don't get a choice of brand names, like you get over there. But we do get the same crap shoved in our faces, it's just that it's twice the price.
All good choices, it comes down to the dealer experience. The big box stores (and some online manufacturer orders) could not deliver in less than a wk. Husqy dealer had limited inventory, tried to put me in a cheaper model. CCadet dealer had their stuff together, great experience. Should've gone ahead and bought for 2700 last yr but oh well... Added bonus, groundhogs think the ZT1 is a spaceship and are mesmerized like 'Close Encounters'.
i am currently dealing with this issue as well. i ordered a JD Z345R from a dealer without any hassle, but am not getting it for 3+ weeks. supply shortages are real i guess.
My neighbor and I both have the Husqvarna Z254F and both have problem with the levers that require constant adjustment that requires dealer until you figure out how to do the adjustment yourself.
I had a higher end Husqvarna a few years ago and had to mow everything twice as it would wind row all the grass and I'm very particular. I ended up having major back surgery and traded it back to the dealer for a Ferris, and am very happy with the comfort and cut. Again to be fair these mowers were in a higher price range than you are testing.
Have a bad boy residential with a 54 inch deck and 725 Kohler! I've had it for about 8 years and it still has the original battery and blades. Battery is done now and blades need sharpening but it's been nothing but awesome!
I love my Bad boy. 7 years old and rock solid. Serviced once a year in the spring. On my third battery and new blades every year. But I do have a six acre yard.
Love standers had 3 2 36 1 32 " it's not included because it's life of green$$$ real parts real engines repowered my 08" first time 1324" hr second motor has 3700 hrs whaaat" yup" semi commercial / residential use just now getting pump issues" rusted deck rewelded some areas with 1/8 in plate, other than that for a 14 yr old mower with almost 5.000hrs, also had 36 old school great dane surfer, meh" but spindles were much ez to rebuild , stander spindles are longer lasting & factor belts, looking at the encore & Hustler stand ons now" for 5 k & 6k, compared to 32 stander cost & deck lift is a plus with them , box store mowers have cheap plastic hub motors" a no " for me lots of complaints with them & Kohler/ briggs motors, not just my IMO" but mechanic/ owners, even low end toros" plus thin decks
For the 6 k encore has alot to offer 1 k more than the Hustler, well built good warranty thick deck real engine dial deck height suspension on the standing platform unlike a 32" basic stander w/ no deck adj castor/ spindle washers
i like my custom built jazee one 42 inch cut with a fr651 kaw... i did build it. it is slightly over powered the original engine should have been a single cylinder 18.5 briggs. my opinion is this and i live my life like this... id rather it be over done then not enough.
I've used Gravely, Toro, Husqvarna and John Deere and both Commercial and residential. The biggest thing I hate out of all mowers is the Husqvarna seats. Both residential and Commercial are the most uncomfortable. The seats are too much of a ninety degree angle that after awhile really hurts the back.
I agree, my MZ52 has a very uncomfortable seat. Too upright and no suspension at all. Not really happy with the way it mows to be honest. It tears up the ground every time you try to turn, no matter how careful you try to be. And it will not cut long grass without leaving 2 thin rows of grass between the blades, where they don't overlap? Mowers here in Australia are ridiculously expensive, I paid $7,500 second hand, for mine. $13,500 new. So I'll be sticking with mine until the damn thing falls apart. LOL.
from a mower technician. my rankings would differ. 1 ariens ( it does come with a kawasaki as well) 2 badboy ( never worked on one but thats a good thing) 3 husqvarna 4 cub cadet 5 john deere hate john deere its small and thin and cheap. the parking brake is cheap if had them jam in the wheels. cub cadet is made cheap as well but not as bad as the johnny. a little more money and id comfortably put a hustler raptor in the mix. pretty much anything kawasaki and fab deck you cant go wrong
Husqvarna is good price but i would recommend another zero turn! The wheels are very beefy on the husqvarna and u would think it wouldn’t spin out / get stuck as much but mine will spin out even on small hills .
@@petersack5074 let me rephrase, husqvarna will spin out even on flat ground that’s mildly damp. I’ve owned quite a few zero turns and from my opinion - it’s just not worth it even if it’s on the more affordable side.
great review 😎 next is 0-turn gas or electric?? also with everything getting so expensive, which mowers would be on the high crime steal list? come home and no mower 😲thanks
My daughter took a look and said she didn't want of any of them because they don't have a roll over bar. Yes they are for the home owner with a large lot, but when you consider a home owner might be more likely to crash the mower, I agreed with her. She works for our town mowing mowing cemeteries and other town properties.
I bought a Hustler 52 at Lowes last year an a discount because it had been returned for 2600 bucks Love it and no issues. This Hustler thinks it’s a bush hog😂
I have a Cub Cadet z Z Model 321 hours loved it it was a little bit abused I'm not sure what they did with it but I got it straightened out man does this thing cut nice 50 inch wide inches biggest a car when it goes down the yard Kawasaki engine quiet as a mouse runs like a deer no pun
i wouldn't buy one with Briggs and Stratton. Kohlers are great. My 24 hp kohler twin has been pushing my RZ 2454 zero turn for 15 years now mowing 3 acres and sweeping with it after mowing. Doesn't burn a drop of oil and i don't I've ever even change the plugs. I have a 26 hp Brggs and Stratton on my John deere 175 lawn tractor and I had to replace the pan gasket. wasn't very hard but I shouldn't have had to do it. Turns out it was a common factory problem and a better gasket was available. I prefer the kohler over the two is my point.
What makes a 10 gauge stamped deck inferior to a 10 gauge fabricated deck? I would think that weld points are weaker, and the more box type configuration being less aerodynamic for the grass flow.
I use stand on mowers but i have a kubota zero turn commercial 60' cut kolher command pro, it's pretty comfy, gravely pro Stand I like, funny though Bradley's stand on cuts real sharp an pretty decent, don't mind the Husqvarna, or Toro's, cub cadet i feel the blades run too slow even at high speed.. not saying there bad, there just not for me.
I have been looking at a husky. All their products are great. I am worried about parts. During Covid it was impossible the get anything from them. Any insights ?
Which is the best zero turn mower for people with disabilities? I have disabilities & I have a hard time getting on. Once on I can’t get the controls to go around me. I also worry about how am I going to service the blades because I can’t crawl on the ground like I use to. I’ve had 2 back surgeries & isn’t there a mower to meet my needs? I’ve been searching & found me the perfect one by accident. I searched a local dealers website to see what they had. They have Country Clipper that I never heard of before & they have features that will make my life easier. The first thing I noticed is that they have a flip up deck for easier servicing & you can get a step with handrail. The last selling point for me was a single joystick on the right side. I was all excited to get one & when I went to the dealer they only had 3 with 72” deck. I want the 42” Avenue with mulching kit & maybe the bag. The base model was $4000 & worth it to me with those features but now price has gone up. If I wanted one I would be waiting a year or two because there’s a shortage on engines & the one I want has a Kawasaki. I just wished I’ve heard of these mowers sooner & I would of had one by now.
I would like to know why so many frown on the stamped decks. Other than fabricated being heavier which comes in most handy if you mow for others or commercially...
I hear you talk about top speed, that's sll good and fine. What's the top end blade rpm?. I often see mowing services cruising across lawns so fast they don't give the blades enough time to actually cut the grass. Basically pushing it down. I have a Gravely Pto 150 walk behind i purchased new back in 1989 for around $2,000. 33 years later the 14 horse Kawasiki fires up on the second pull every time! Yup, I clean my deck, grease what needs to be greased and keep the blades sharpened. It mows perfectly flat! I looked at the Cub Cadet ZT1 50' fab decked mower with a Kawasaki engine for $3800 at the Depot. That would be my choice IF this' one went out! I say, some cut their grass. I mow my lawn
Blade speed isn't provided by most manufacturers which is why it's not included, hopefully one day all manufacturers will disclose that information publicly.
I mow my lawn with a commercial 60" eXmark mower. I used to work part time for a commercial lawn grooming company. After you run high quality rotary mowers you hate the cheap junk from the box stores. I couldn't afford a new $14,900-$17,000 machine but I could afford a used one. Also Kawasaki is much better engine than Kohler. eXmark has run their blade speed at the maximum legal limit for years I think. Scag also has a few good mowers. A good Blade tip speed is 18,000-18,500 in my opinion. I can mow a good bed of grass at ground speeds between 8-11 mph no problem. On a high speed blade the first 3/4" of the blade does most all the cutting so running carbide tipped blades helps keep them sharp longer. A company like eXmark spends millions designing the commercial cutting platform. They are meant to mow faster than the cheap ones. What I see wrong most often is a cheap mower being labeled as commercial and some poor landscaper buys it because it's cheaper. It's cheaper for a reason. Than they try to mow like a premium grade commercial mower and it does a horrible job. I learned years ago you often get what you pay for. That's why a good commercial mower comes with a nice comfortable seat that alone cost almost as much as a cheap ride on lawn tractor from a box store.
@@ifyoutip I like your term "grooming " High lift blades, and properly adjusted belts will literally suck the grass straight up allowing your blades to cleanly shear the tips off. " Mow fo"
I'm going to pass on all but 1 and that is the bad boy the rest are home use for the wife lol I my self use a 54 toro Triton commercial a little more then 3 k tho but BAD TO THE BONE I TELL U ;)
So I have looked over all of these mowers and would appreciate it if you could provide a link to where they are listed at those prices because for the life of me I can't find them. Thank you.
As soon as I hear stamped steel deck, I move along. That brace that goes across the deck chute catches and holds slightly wet clippings and you have to stop and clean it out. Very annoying to me.
The REAL issues should be ease of sharpening blades....belts & spindle replacement.......and of course...pricing of these components.....good vid though.
Thank you for this comparison. I see Hustler didn't make the cut. I have to agree, Husqvarna Z248 appears to deserves #1 ranking. Though as this date 07.27.22 the Lowe's price tag on the 21.5HP model 48" cut is $3599.

Every mower listed here is 1000 more than quoted. Well at least the first one. The Deere price is right for a 42 inch. Why on a zero turn would you ever need an armrest?
I'm a bit perplexed...This video references the Badboy MZ Rambler 42inch having Kohler motors (Which I prefer the Kohler or maybe the Kawasaki) however when you look at their website they only offer a Briggs (Which I don't want) I emailed BadBoy and haven't heard back yet. Is this supposed to be a 2023 "Upgrade?" BadBoy Shoulder offer options! Ugh! Not Good
Cub Cadet Zt1 stamped deck is pure junk. I say that being a Cub Cadet guy. I have old school XT! Enduro 8 years old and 440 hours on it. I mow 3 acres a week with it. Sometimes i mow 2 foot tall weeds. But, ZT1 stamped deck is just trash. Might work on a golf course. But, move up to the ZT2 and you have a beast.
Have prices gone up in the 2 weeks since this video came out? The rambler at TS is 3400 for small engine. Others seem to be higher as well if they’re in stock.
Asked myself the same question in the last few days. Not comparing prices to what’s in the video but I could have sworn Home Depot’s price on the cub cadet jumped like $100-$200 from one day to the other so I think there was a change
Thank you. Did not have Husqvarna on my radar. Will definitely look at it. Bagging is important to me though as I live along a river and the trees drop tons of leaves in the fall. I simply cannot mulch all of them.
It's the rear tire dimensions that make the difference, the trans axel can out put a lot of rotational force so it can handle the 20 in tires like on the cub or 18 in tires on the husky the larger the tire the higher the top speed the smaller the tire the higher the torque. It just depends on what you need if your yard is mostly flat the 20 is fine, although if you have a lot of hills it will be better on your engine and trans axel to use smaller tires. Just my 2 cent
Why are bad boy decks so shallow? Wouldn’t a deeper deck be better for airflow and suction and thus provide a better quality of cut for those lawns that are manicured(not acres of pasture grass)? When you look at the best cutting mowers they all have deep decks. Exmarks, Ferris, Scags… you won’t find any of these top cutting mowers with shallow decks and for a reason..

Also anything over 2 blades won’t cut any better the quality of the cut gets worse.

Six acres id buy a 9ft mowing machine and a balet
The time cutter 50 is 5gs here where I am
@@dharrison6832 it’s 4,000 here in Memphis
I wish I had a seat with suspension The husky has no suspension and will kill your back Sometimes I wish I put on my kidney belt that I wear dirt bike riding lol
I have the toro time cutter I feel like it has been amazing in about the 6 years I have had
I am pleased with my Toro Time Cutter. It provides a comfortable ride!
@@JuanHernandez-tg7kv you probably got a lemon. Mine has been great no problems. Cuts better than my old John deere tractor.
@@kylestivers4606 the problem is that people never own cub cadet like the one in the video they start making up story if you never own a Cub cadet your opinion don’t count I have one for 2 years and never had a problem
@@MrAlphacallsign it doesn't matter what brand there's always someone that says it's junk. My cub cadet is 3 years old and not a single issue.
I'd sure like to see a video of the Bad Boy 42 inch MZ Rambler doing some actual cutting rather than hearing how tough and well built it is.
Yeah B&S are good engines I never had a problem with them that I could not solve at a cheaper price
@dustyrusty....I have a 1999 Dixon 4423. Love it....and that Martian technology under the seat is amazing! lol
Just bought the John Deere Z345 for 2,999$. Couldn't pass it up for price and more importantly today, AVAILABILITY! Great reviews on all top 5. I had my eye on all 5myself. Happy trails!
Just ordered that one, the 'R' series, haven't gotten it yet. How do you like yours so far?
Cant wait to cut the lawn now 😎great machine, so maneuverable, comfortable & quick!
Glad you got yours now. With stagflation the way it's going, the only mower under $3k next year will be: "The 21" Push Mower w/o drive by MTD!"
I have had a mowing business for 14 years. I have a toro 6000 that cost me 10.5k. The new ones are 17k! The prices are insane
On this list which one would you pick from the number 1. 2. & 3 spots on this list for some one like me... less than 2 acres of very flat yard who cuts my yard about once a week here in Southern Ohio. ?? Thanks for your advice.

All depends on the dealers in your area.

I have the Cub Cadet Ultima ZT1 50" & I'm loving it
I bought a 46" Husqvarna riding mower used about 5 years ago (bought it from a guy who only had it a year but said it was too big for his yard) and I've put that mower through some very hard work around the small 22 acre farm, from basic yard mowing to mowing some brush along the fence in the fall and using it to pull a 16' landscape trailer to haul tree branches out of the field (probably over kill for that mower).
I just purchased the Z254F, so I'm happy to read your comment. You have definitely put your mower conditions anyone should expect from it.
Great review
Sounds like the way we'd run it😅
I picked up a z246 zero last fall for next to nothing.
Lol yes many ladies start with a real bad boy but settle for a less bad boy.

We tend to get nothing but cheap crap shoveled in our faces in the states.
@@GeneralChangFromDanang That's music to my ears..."cheap".

Thanks for sharing this video. It was so informative and very well done.
Im a snpper ferris dealer and the shortage is real I ordered 150 mowers in September and only have gotten 8 of them so far.
Never buy a box store zero turn especially ones made by MTD
My neighbor and I both have the Husqvarna Z254F and both have problem with the levers that require constant adjustment that requires dealer until you figure out how to do the adjustment yourself.
I like the Exmark Quest 42. E series.
A ferris is more than a little bit different than apples to oranges. They are top notch and over 12 grand .
Have a bad boy residential with a 54 inch deck and 725 Kohler! I've had it for about 8 years and it still has the original battery and blades. Battery is done now and blades need sharpening but it's been nothing but awesome!
@BlueLine Racing you better watch the video again I didn't see one under 3,000 and my bad boy was only 3400.
I love my Bad boy. 7 years old and rock solid. Serviced once a year in the spring. On my third battery and new blades every year. But I do have a six acre yard.
Had mine 8 years. Great mower 3400. But it has been 8 years lol. I think my 54 inch is 4200 now lol. Still it's a great mower for the price.

I love the seat on mine. The rubber shock is awesome on my Back. (7 Buldged disk, 1 Herrniated disk). And I have no issues when done with my 2 acre.
LOL.
Upgrade the seat

@@petersack5074 let me rephrase, husqvarna will spin out even on flat ground that’s mildly damp. I’ve owned quite a few zero turns and from my opinion - it’s just not worth it even if it’s on the more affordable side.

My daughter took a look and said she didn't want of any of them because they don't have a roll over bar. Yes they are for the home owner with a large lot, but when you consider a home owner might be more likely to crash the mower, I agreed with her. Which ZT mower should I buy for my 16' X 38' front yard and 60' X 38' back yard?
i wouldn't buy one with Briggs and Stratton.
Not true, the fab decks are well built and stronger than the stamped deck. 💯 Fab decks are the way to go especially if you have uneven ground
How often does a zero turn break down?
I use stand on mowers but i have a kubota zero turn commercial 60' cut kolher command pro, it's pretty comfy, gravely pro Stand I like, funny though Bradley's stand on cuts real sharp an pretty decent, don't mind the Husqvarna, or Toro's, cub cadet i feel the blades run too slow even at high speed.. not saying there bad, there just not for me.
I have been looking at a husky. All their products are great. I am worried about parts. During Covid it was impossible the get anything from them. Any insights ?
So what's the deal with the stamped deck. Why is it not as good as a "fabricated deck"?
Normally the deck is thin and will rust out.
Best STEERING WHEEL mowers at 3k?? I find it difficult to pull a utility trailer with a zero turn.
Buy a gravely with fabricated deck and a kawi motor. 5400 trans.
These are home owner specials. cheap parts.
Thankyou Sir.
Great video. Very informative. Logically produced.
I am concerned about transmission. Is this entry level trans, or heavy duty?
This is an entry/mid tier residential transmission on all the mowers. The the most commonly used residential transmission.
Thank you so much!
Where was the Toro??
They were probably scared the Toro would out shine these five biased choices.
Have you tried the V's one hand controller? If so, does it work?
I would like to know why so many frown on the stamped decks. Other than fabricated being heavier which comes in most handy if you mow for others or commercially...
Cub cadet is showing the ZT2 video? Not ZT1
Ever wonder why lows switched to. Crafmans Lawnmower s.
@@ifyoutip I like your term "grooming "
High lift blades, and properly adjusted belts will literally suck the grass straight up allowing your blades to cleanly shear the tips off.

As soon as I hear stamped steel deck, I move along. That brace that goes across the deck chute catches and holds slightly wet clippings and you have to stop and clean it out. Very annoying to me.
Next time use a ferris or simplicity. (With Suspension)
I would put the Craftsman T240 Turn Tight up against any of these tractors
where would you rate a gravely 52 inch cut with 22 v-twin hp motor?
Heavy built. and a heavy machine.

I can confirm i was just looking at this mower
Unfortunately prices have increased since the making of this video.
Lowes has the Z254 w/ Kawaski engine for $3649 but has to be ordered and shipped. Not sure how long it takes. They claim just a few days.
@@russellfortner9070 If it's not a z254f and just a z254 then it does not have a fabricated deck.
Thanks!
i like one
I wanna get a riding tractor but cub cadet but not sure which 1 to get
Every mower listed here is 1000 more than quoted. Well at least the first one. The Deere price is right for a 42 inch. Why on a zero turn would you ever need an armrest?
Finally someone besides myself Noticed there inches down and none actually uses the arm rests
I have a Ferris IS700Z and use the armrest’s all of the time.
SPEND THE EXTRA COUPLE BUCKS N GET THE BAD BOY !!!!!!!!!!!
Ugh! Not Good
Has anything changed for 2023?
I got my cub cadet when it was 2500 😅
Where do I get the husqvarna 48”
Cub Cadet Zt1 stamped deck is pure junk. I say that being a Cub Cadet guy. I have old school XT! Enduro 8 years old and 440 hours on it. I mow 3 acres a week with it. Sometimes i mow 2 foot tall weeds. But, ZT1 stamped deck is just trash. Might work on a golf course. But, move up to the ZT2 and you have a beast.
Thank you.....
Have prices gone up in the 2 weeks since this video came out? The rambler at TS is 3400 for small engine. Others seem to be higher as well if they’re in stock.
As far as I know the prices have not gone up. However If you are financing the mower the msrp of the mower might go up a bit.
Asked myself the same question in the last few days. Not comparing prices to what’s in the video but I could have sworn Home Depot’s price on the cub cadet jumped like $100-$200 from one day to the other so I think there was a change
I’m finding also that some places have 2 prices, cash price and a finance/credit card price which is about 10% more.
If inflation and gas up. Most likely the prices will go up! Let’s Go Brandon!
Thank you. Did not have Husqvarna on my radar. Will definitely look at it. Bagging is important to me though as I live along a river and the trees drop tons of leaves in the fall. I simply cannot mulch all of them.
It has a bagger system you can get!
easy enough just get a blower
interesting that they all use the same transmission but some go faster :)
Yes it is interesting!
@@Emmasmatt01 Yes totally agree Perfect
Why are bad boy decks so shallow? Wouldn’t a deeper deck be better for airflow and suction and thus provide a better quality of cut for those lawns that are manicured(not acres of pasture grass)? When you look at the best cutting mowers they all have deep decks. Exmarks, Ferris, Scags… you won’t find any of these top cutting mowers with shallow decks and for a reason..
If only my 12k$ mowers cost this much
Kubota vs Exmark zero turn which would you chose
Exmark
@@TractorBobs wow I feel like a lot of people like the Kubota seems to be a little stronger to me
Kubota
Xmart you going to have to pay for it
