Plus there was a girl cowering in a corner wearing a a towel! He should have been made to wear those funny bracelets that law enforcement personnel carry.
I am glad that they support trans people, but there needs to be some sort of guideline about what constitutes “trans”. I think the person needs to at least attempt to live as the gender they are transitioning to. It’s not just planet fitness- I think there needs to be general guidelines to what someone must do to expect to be treated as the opposite gender. Maybe this is if you legally transition and change your identity. As much as I accept anyone for who they are, and no matter how rare it is for a true trans or nonbinary person to abuse the system, there is a need for protections from some guy just saying he’s a female and having access to female spaces. This would also protect trans people- if they are living as female then it would prevent someone from saying “I’m uncomfortable” and kicking them out. Legal identity change seems a good starting point and from there maybe it can include people who are in the process of changing. Didn’t people used to have to live as the opposite gender for a year before transitioning?
Yeah there’s a lot of grey area for sure. If it’s going to be allowed at all, I agree that there should absolutely be a threshold of some kind instead of making it a free for all.
I disagree completely. You will truly have to fooled everyone you're a woman and not many can pull it off, given how expensive it can be. But like the guy in the gym that's not going to fly no matter how expensive the wig is or validation that id can say. You run the risk of alienating most of your female customers. All because the gym is afraid of a lawsuit for fictitious discrimination.
I actually agree. Just a wig doesn’t cut it. But I do think we need some kind of guideline. If it’s an operation required to legally change identity - I think something like that would at least cut the people doing it to be a perv. There are very few that truly can pass as female- and I think it should be something that requires considerable effort to pass whatever the guideline is.
@@TeacherSally I am sure that genuine trans people will be disgusted with this. This guy doing the most alpha thing possible such as shaving his face in public is crossing the line. He is no way trans in anyone's book. There really needs to be some kind of criteria adopted here. Not just a blanket acceptance.
It's not "illegal" to do that, but it's against their policy, which is something I agree with. But I think they should have let it slide because the woman felt legitimately uncomfortable with the whole situation, which I don't blame her for.
I just read this morning that we had an incident at Planet Fitness locally. The man was arrested and is in the county jail. This ain't Canada, dude.
Patricia Silva is a hero!! Biological women should always feel safe and comfortable.
Such a moronic stand for .9%(not even 1%) to pander at the cost of losing a lot of women memberships .
Exactly, and especially considering this guy is obviously taking advantage of the situation.
and some men's membership as well. I'm a guy and I would never go to PF
both women and men need their safe spaces

Ok so I think maybe the reason she was kicked out was because she took a picture of him in the locker room. From what I know it’s illegal to do that??
That was the reason they terminated her membership, but it sounds like she did it as evidence because it made her feel unsafe

Is she sure she was in the correct locker room? Maybe she was in the men's room when the picture was taken. 🤔
