Naw alkaloid took that title. Sleep is up there too. This turned out to be an amazing record though. Perhaps obscura's best

4:12 - 4:26 Lanser's part here is so catchy, can't help but headbang... and then transitions right into a sick Trujillo solo (I swear the dude is getting better by the day). Love this song, definitely one of my favorites off the album.

saw these guys .... steffen vocalist from obscura misplaced his passport and got stuck in Canada... the rest of obscura still played the songs and had guest vocals on all the tracks for the set inferi's vocalist did a couple songs, simon from beyond creation did a few, hugo did a song, max phelps of exist did a few songs.....all guest vocals were done by people who do not perform these songs and I think all guest vocals did an outstanding job and BIG ups to obscura for still playing.... crazy how much better veteran metal bands are than newer bands obscura didn't have their vocalist and still blew every other band sound wise outta the water.

Mortification, Emergent Evolution and The Conjuration were my 3 favourite tracks from the album. What about you guys?
Mine are Ethereal Skies and Ekpyrosis. And the third is probably The Seventh Aeon. But there is not a single track that is bad or average on this album. They are all so good that it's actually difficult to choose.

Mortification, Ekpyrosis, and the Conjurations.
As a drummer, Diluvium is definitely in my top 3, I love the complex drumming in it. Mortification for sure also, it's got a perfect mix of heavy & chill (doesn't hurt that it's catchy as hell). As for #3 I don't have one yet, it's quite hard to choose among all of them!

haha don't worry. Rafael wasn't that great when he first joined. he got really good fast because he had too play Tom and Christian's solos which require a lot of unique techniques.
Agreed, just heard him in one of the live recordings. He sounds killer and plays without skipping a single note. Also he wrote more than half of the new album. Rafael surely became better at playing guitar and I'd say he writes even better.

I remember I bought Akroasis and Fleshgod's King albums on the same day of release been. Two of my favorite progressive/symphonic metal bands and it's been already 2 years. This masterpiece of an album comes out now... Germany's finest music.

Diluvium is by far my favorite Obscura record. Lots of folks prefer Omnivium, and I get that they just love the unrelenting raw aggression that it delivers, but Diluvium is a much more accomplished and complete record for my personal taste, it has more groove, more melody, more hooks, and just overall better compositions imo, it's a more mature, more sophisticated record. Brilliant 11/10.
