The video shows 36 missing kids but because of the video 25 have been found with 11 still missing. A 2019 People Magazine page posted online shows what the kids would look like grown up.

The little boy at the end of the video,Thomas Gibson, is still an unsolved case. The dad, a deputy sheriff at the time that Thomas went missing, was arrested and convicted of 2nd degree manslaughter. He was sentenced to less than 2 years and only served one. Tragic lives and for most of those missing, very tragic endings.

So impressed Soul Asylum did this video. Kudos to a generation that cared so much , it was in the music. Very genuine reaction. It was all said by your facial expressions.

On the 25th anniversary of this song they re-released it where it would pair up with the location app on your device to show missing kids in your area.

This song was about the problems the lead singer had with depression and drug use , the song was handed to a video guy and changed the emphasis of this song , to date many countries have different faces in their videos and many young people have been reunited or been found safe but not reunited but alive and well

Sometimes we don’t want to be found. Due to constant abuse, first physical then mental and emotional, by my mother, I went no contact. Thirty four years later, I made the mistake of contacting a sister. Big mistake! Went back no contact and have moved three times since then. If I keep running then my sisters won’t find me. I am not an easy person to deal with, but as the song said, ‘A little out of touch, a little insane, just easier than dealing with the pain’

The first time I heard this song and lyrics I immediately think to depression and suicide thought... I can relate to this. I losen a friend for suicide and I suffer myself from depression. And when you make that choice and take this "train", this is a runaway train never going back... it's just easier than dealing with the pain...

I saw Soul Asylum perform this song when they were one of the warm-up acts for Guns N Roses in Milton Keynes, England just before the video dropped in June 1993. About 3 years later I finally saw the video and was sad to see all those people missing.

Believe us when Gen X tells you we actually had real emotions, just no social media...
It was a lot easier to live when every one of your mistakes wasn't in danger of being a global incident, but we still had problems, emotions, and people who gave an actual fuck about other people.
Now? We're all jaded because we were the ones who figured out how corrupt this shit actually is.
