The music rocks in this film...The yellow jumpsuit is a nod to a kung fu film starring Bruce Lee...Actress Chiaki Kuriyama (model/actress/singer) played Gogo and was also in the classic film Battle Royale.
Yellow "jumpsuit/tracksuit" inspired by what Bruce Lee wore in the 1978 film "Game of Death" during the finale of the movie. It's a VERY iconic Bruce Lee "look". Although Tarantino's version of the yellow outfit differs from Lee's (his was basically a "onsie" where as Uma Thurman is clearly wearing a 2 piece) it is similar enough where people in the know would immediately recognize it. Thurman's character also wore a modern version of the yellow and black shoes that were very similar to the Onitsuka Tiger sneakers Lee worn in Game of Death.
There was a Kill Bill X Onitsuka Tiger collaboration for the release of the film. The yellow / black Mexico 66s were issued with a clear sole, which had a blood splatter running through them. A reissue has been done this year, but with the original sole; pairs resell for up to £450.
In the 70's low budget splatter films, many actors and characters were used from movie to movie. The Sheriff in Kill bill also plays Escobar, and the sheriff (and his Deputy/Son) are brought back in the "Grindhouse" Movies "Death Proof" and "Planet Terror"... It's also Rumored that the Church Pianist (Samuel L. Jackson) was what happened to Jules Winnfield after Pulp Fiction. He changed his name and found Christ.

In Pulp Fiction, Mia talks about being in a TV pilot for a show called Fox Force Five. The popular theory is that this movie is a film version of that pilot.
20:50 "I feel like I'm watching a cartoon sometimes." I felt the same. More like an anime. There's the facial expressions the witnesses of the yakuza beheading make that seem like it's anime-like and also the fight against the crazy 88s of course. I think it's Tarantino paying an homage to the action style anime uses so much in their shows and film. He's a director that tends to pay homages to other films 😂
32:18 - "We still don't know her name." - Sure we do. It was in the movie, you just have to be paying attention. :) They pretended like the identity of Bill was a big secret, but everyone knew who it was. His name is the fifth one down on the IMDb page for the movie. Not only that, but older viewers instantly recognized his voice. He starred in a quite famous TV show called Kung Fu, where he played a Shaolin Monk wandering across the American old west.
When Quentin Tarantino makes his movies, he likes to put elements of movies. He would’ve watched when he was younger into the movies as a tribute. When you see the bride in the yellow outfit, it is a homage to the kung fu movies in the 70s when you had Bruce Lee dressed in the yellow tracksuit. Check out the images online it’s very much the same thing..
21:55 They are screaming TO GIVE THEMSELVES energy. It's been proven for decades now, that yelling as you swing/punch/lift/etc helps you perform. In the case of a fight, it's partially psychological, to hype yourself up and help bury any fear or doubts you might have. Unfortunately, for the Crazy 88, The Bride is on a whole other level where all their screaming and yelling can't bridge the gap in their experience and sheer willpower.
Loved the reaction and I think the second one may be as appreciated as the first one of this series. The best part for me, and my favourite has to be the Showdown at the restaurant, with the Crazy 88's. The music is great, choreography everything about it and always such delight to go see over and over again. This was so fun with all the, shall we say, happenings during the film all done in masterful manners by Tarantino, and the effects being top notch, also with backstory and so on. One film, I do tend to go back to very often, however, very much seemingly overlooked by reactors on youtube, is "Gorky Park" from 1983, which may be a good possible addition to Halloween as it is a thriller mystery style of film. This may well be due to great actors, very good script, great score by James Horner, scenic, almost like cat and mouse style film?
23:55, when you see how the Bride was trained you will understand why mopping up these goons was just a workout. The Bride is practically the Right Hand of Death.
'What does it smell like?' Glasgow, August Sunday morning. Coming out of central station onto Union Street off the first train. You know, after the night before has had a couple of hours to bake in the sun that was up at four, but just before the brave workers have cleaned it up.
I'm glad they split the story in two, because they are both very different films. Very different tones with very different characters and settings. They are both epic but in in different ways
28:25 ish - that bamboo water feature you liked maybe what they call " shishi odoshi fountain" my old Sifu had one in his meditation garden. We called it his Zen Den he never thought that was very funny
That dead people thing (where she got bacteria from a dead person) is true. It is also something from an Irvine Welsh short story from his book called Ecstasy.
I don't like yellow! (Says the blonde.) Tarantino always delivers. I saw both movies when they arrived in the theaters. Felt like forever by the time 2 came out.
Kill Bill 1 & 2 are just a real homage to 1970s & 1980s Hong Kong cinema. Tarantino even cast the legendary Gordon Liu in the role of Johnny Mo, leader of the Crazy 88 in Kill Bill Pt1. Liu's first break was with Chang's Film Company (a Shaw Brothers subsidiary operating in Taiwan) acting small parts for such films as 5 Shaolin Masters, Shaolin Martial Arts, and 4 Assassins. He starred in Challenge of the Masters (1976), as the folk hero Wong Fei Hung, and was featured in Executioners From Shaolin (1977) before starring in his signature role as Shaolin hero San Te in The 36th Chamber of Shaolin. The other link to The 36th Chamber of Shaolin is the soundtrack, which was produced by RZA of The Wu Tang Clan. Wu Tangs legendary debut album was titled ‘Enter The 36 Chambers’ & sampled various Kung Fu films. Liu reappears in Part 2 as a different character…one with some awesome facial hair!! Also, the yellow jumpsuit & Onitsuka Tiger shoes are a nod to the same outfit worn by Bruce Lee in Game of Death.
The man who plays Hattori Hanzo is the great Shin'ichi "Sony" Chiba. He acted in over 200 Japanese martial arts movies throughout the 1960s, 70s and 80s with nearly the same influence as Bruce Lee. Tarantino wanted to honor him by casting him in his movie because of his deep respect for him.
11:19 I don't know who told you that but, speaking for myself, that's the best part of the movie sometimes. Especially if you can actually remember the actor's/actresses' real name and not just the role for which you know them.
A lot of the production choices were in homage to the classic Run Run Shaw kung fu films (from the opening studio logo and music, to the whooshing motion sound effects, to the black and white color screen change during gory fight scenes). The yellow jump suit was in homage to Bruce Lee who wore that outfit in his final movie, Game of Death.

In Pulp Fiction, Mia talks about being in a TV pilot for a show called Fox Force Five. The popular theory is that this movie is a film version of that pilot.
I appreciate your sense of humor !!
They pretended like the identity of Bill was a big secret, but everyone knew who it was. His name is the fifth one down on the IMDb page for the movie. Not only that, but older viewers instantly recognized his voice. He starred in a quite famous TV show called Kung Fu, where he played a Shaolin Monk wandering across the American old west.
12:09 That's what She said! 🕺🏃
Good film that Dawn, looking forward to pt 2, cheers Dawn🙃
@7:25 "Blood everywhere." I'm like ohhh, just u wait. P.S. Love the channel ever since yr Python reactions. First comment here tho
Great reaction to this Tarantino classic can’t wait for your reaction to volume 2 of Kill Bill
24:50 - I’ll tak’ the high road and you’ll tak’ the low, and I’ll have the tactical advantage…
19:59 -- Her yellow track suit is a nod to the suit Bruce Lee wore in "Game of Death".
The SFX are so funny in this movie.
Part 2 please without the gap being long 😊
I'm glad they split the story in two, because they are both very different films. Very different tones with very different characters and settings. They are both epic but in in different ways
28:25 ish - that bamboo water feature you liked maybe what they call " shishi odoshi fountain" my old Sifu had one in his meditation garden. We called it his Zen Den he never thought that was very funny
oh! just ignore the meaning if you look it up
LOL Dawn says "don't judge people's faces" then 5 minutes later says eww look at his teeth. We are all human. No worries.
yeaa, next see Shogun Assassin - the 1980 flick that THIS one ripped off (with the excessive dismemberment and spraying blood in particular).
Two things: 1. I hit "like", first thing. 2. Dawn Tarantino, your new name.
"I love a Tarantino movie..."
Five minutes later...
"What am I watching?!?"
