Were Nottingham Forest wrong to sack Steve Cooper? | Premier League | NBC Sports

There a fine line between being very ambitious and being reckless. I fear Mr Marinakis is so impatient for success that he could end up on the wrong side of that line.
rubbish - watch what happens now
True, but also results have been shockingly poor and Marinakis (who is usefully impulsive at sacking managers) has held off for 40 games more than he would have liked to
Great discussion. Shouldn't have sacked Cooper and they were also right about him having to continuously mould new teams.
Coach who did wat he did they shouldn't have fired him even to have GIVEN HIM MORE TIME
you have zero clue
@@PhoneyPolitics2.0 Right. So what's your opinion then? You haven't really expanded on that reply.
@adamwhite1556 Multiple points have been lost in games Forest have been on course to win due to POOR substitutions- the Luton game is one example.
The players and people say that they play their best for the manager - this shows Cooper had hit his ceiling at Forest. If then players are still playing for you and you're winning 1 out of 13 games, how much better will the players play under Cooper's management?
You can say cooper did a fantastic job but he wouldn't have taken Forest any further and that's what the owner has ambitions for
As a Forest fan I loved Cooper and I was one of those that was against him being sacked however the club had to let him go. I for one will miss him and hope he will return someday. For now lets move on and get behind Nuno. The poor man will need our support. 💕
His job title is head coach so what they going on about management for. Head coach is provided with players through head of recruitment and director of football then you coach the team. The days of running of a club top to bottom have gone. We have got Two guys who are totally out of touch or just blatantly ignoring the modern ways of a football club
42 players signed in two seasons? Insane.
This Summer alone, our outgoings. But I guess thats not as catchy as a headline

@@alexmorrow3750 waaaw the team must be very busy.
Gotta give him at least 3 seasons in the Premier League. He got you to the big show, give him some time as a reward. Now I don’t know if they can stay up with the new manager.
LMFAO Forest were going down with Cooper now we are staying up
Last time I checked, only 3 teams get relegated. Forest was safe. We already know who’s getting relegated long time ago.
Well above the relegation zone we are five points clear That's not well above that can change in the instant 😂
Still a fair cushion when you look at the standard of clubs below us.
@@adamwhite1556yes but we are somehow playing worse than those clubs. On the form table we are 20th.
Cooper brought Wood, Shelvey, Williams and Ayew so good thing he didnt get more money tbh
Tbf Neco has been very good these past two games. But agree Wood, Shelvey and Ayew were bad ideas. 15m for wood on a one year deal really messes with the FFP.
in total 24m on wood actually
@@yJoka deserves to be sacked on that alone tbh
no evidence of this except for your opinion.
If your replacement is Nuno? Absolutely they were wrong to sack him.
why? He's a great manager
@@dbz9393 no he’s not, he’s a regressive discount counter attacking tactician. You aren’t going to grow with him as a manager. It’s running in place.
Agree that Managers should be allowed to manage and control who comes in and who goes out the club.
Thank goodness Cooper is gone - Forest can now progress at long last
1 win in 13 league games. 2 away wins in 28 games. Lower xG than Luton with 10x the net spend and club size. In what world would anyone else in any other club keep their job with those stats?
They’ll probably go down now, I’d say they got 50/50 shot of staying up. Forrest new manager will make or break the season
We’ll stay up by a dozen points… Nuno with this squad will be a different animal compared to a Burnley or Luton.
Let's see what Nuno says when 30 new players that he has never heard of turn up for training. I think we all know what the fans will be singing on Saturday if Bournemouth are 3-0 up at half time...
100% wrong
I’m sorry people who follow forest and no all the stats and ins and outs would sack cooper. We absolutely love the guy and his legacy will be put up there with cloughy but coopers time did run out.
Don't compare Steve Cooper to Brian Clough. Steve cant play to win, and cant win. Clough won Cl twice and Premier League once. Yeah, Cooper is right there with Clough😮 Are you on drugs?
Cooper deserved more time - ownership kept undermining him though.
LMFAO - Cooper undermined the ownership - Cooper is a poor Prem coach
Right decision.
Cooper to Birmingham City?
The amount of sack washing for Steve Cooper in the media is hilarious. The guy isn't a good prem manager. That's the end of it. I looked up the resume of Robbie Mustoe. Surprisingly he doesn't or has ever owned a team or been a manager lol. That's like me criticizing an aeronautical engineer.
He kept us up last season in the most competitive premier league season that there's possibly ever been (it was far stronger than this season). I would say he's a good prem manager 😊
Should not have sacked him. Period.
Sad sacking: Steve shunted the Forest to the First Division/Prem League. Good manager.
You've got low standards man. 22% win rate in the PL. That's pathetic.
Something had clearly “gone wrong”. Your club captain training on his own? A number of senior players clearly not happy with tactics employed! Then we have owner/Cooper fall out. This sacking was coming Forest fans whether you like it or not. Like it or not you are in a relegation fight again, which looking at the number of good players signed should not be happening again. Nuno is a no nonsense manager. He has strict codes of discipline and if there are any “Charlie Boys” they are going to be quickly found out. Seems like a good appointment to me because face facts under Cooper you were probably going down!
I don't know who this Robbie guy is but he's talking absolute nonsense constantly contradicting himself... can see why he's on nbc and not uk tv
Am forest fan its just proven that fans have no say but we move on
Never has
Nope
No point in sacking Stevie because I can't realistically see the new guy getting any more points out of the next 6 games than Cooper would have done. Unless the players suddenly decide to earn their money.
Not wrong to sack him, just wrong to sign the worlds most boring man instead
They shouldn't have sacked him
Not one bit he is only a championship manager not premier League
