The Soccer Saturday panel discuss Nottingham Forest after the side replaced Steve Cooper with Nuno Espirito Santo earlier this week.
Santo is hoping to build on Steve Cooper's "huge" legacy after succeeding him as Nottingham Forest head coach.
Cooper was sacked on Tuesday with Forest five points above the relegation zone after picking up just one win in 13 matches, but he leaves a fan favourite after restoring the club to the Premier League.
It was fan power that saved Cooper from the sack last season, even though he kept Forest up, but owner Evangelos Marinakis, the Greek businessman, lost patience after another underwhelming start to the campaign.

As a forest fan, first time in a long time I am looking forward to a game today, even if we lose
Must win today. The owners and fftv fans believe we have a midtable squad hahahah, nunos here to win and win he must with man u n newcastle next, no excuses now haha this is gonna be funny joke club
You might as well have just said "I know nothing about football"
If you think you will see more entertaining football today under Santo than with Steve Cooper you are just showing your ignorance of not only the game but the new head coaches playing style.
Likely you are one of the 'new generation' of Forest fans who think your Mom letting you move out of the basement into your sisters old room is a lifetime achievement.
@@jedfra9172 there's a handful of em, they only watch fftv , there not real fans , there repeating what a new fan in his bedroom in Swindon says online only then repeating everywhere. They use superhero names and are gamers only
@@jedfra9172your the ignorantone for not giving nuno a chance.
@@jedfra9172 "I know nothing about football"
Couldn't have put it better myself. Did you enjoy the Newcastle game? :p
COYR.
Dawson is spot on , but the owners and new forest fans since promotion believe we have a midtable to europe squad hahah nomore excuses nuno must win , losing no option. This is ahort term thinking for immediate results so the proof is today, good luck nuno u need it
Can't wait to see Nottingham forest play today under new manager
If it's 2-0 to Bournemouth at half time, expect some interesting songs from the terraces
Who dey cough for background 😂😂
As much as I love Steve Cooper (and always will) - he's never taken a team to 7th in the prem. Nor has he ever done it twice. We will be fine with Nuno. It was time. Steve will also be fine, needed a new challenge, he was looking shattered and jaded. This is football, love it or leave it - lmanagers find their limits, it happens. Wishing Stevie Cooper all the best. He should never have to pay for a pint or a meal in Nottingham. Good bloke (the best) but he was done.
Dominguez has to be first name on the team sheet.
No way... look at Dominquez vs Fulham. Utterly useless. Murillo too.
A lot of work to be done
A good performance at home that was ruined by a crap ref. A great 3-1 win against a club we've never beaten away in the prem. Yadda yadda.
I hate to see Cooper go. I also don’t care for the squad turnover since promotion.
Should’ve got Scott Parker
no , defo not
He almost has as bad a premier League record as Cooper. Not quite though
I don't ever remember the media being so behind a manager with a terrible record. It's mad. Our own fans are so loyal and loud, they've swayed the media. If you watch the games or read stats you'll see we needed change.
Had a stroke trying to read that nonsense @Phil-jb9hh
Media bobbleheads
forest will b ok , the teams below are shocking
This is an odd season in that all three promoted teams (Luton, Sheffield and Burnley) are all cannon fodder, so the likes of Everton and Nottingham Forest will likely stay up.
Osama cant save em
well lets be really honest about this ok if its a straight choice between steve cooper and nuno as a neutral I choose cooper every day of the week and twice on a sunday personally🤔 I mean if there is a strong possibility forest stay up this season regardless of who the manager is possibly because the three teams who were promoted aint that good but on that basis why sack steve cooper then🤔
what ? Nuno did the same thing as Cooper , only difference is he took Wolves up not only stayed up but had 2 mid table finishes with Wolves and took them into Europe , what the hell are you on about
Forest have mediocre players .
And those "mediocre" players ripped Newcastle a new one. Another know nowt dealt with. Next.
These pundits are full of s*. Fans have moved on. No one is talking about Cooper anymore.
Nuno will be lucky to last longer at forest than he did at spurs.
hold
@@mr.batman2348 fair point.. but one game. Let's see after a dozen 🙂🌲
Boring football definitely coming for forest fans
I think most clubs would be happy with boring 1-0 wins as opposed to losing.
We’ve had boring football for about a decade pal
It was pretty dire under Cooper most of the time. We were delighted to survive last season and tbh would take the same this year.
You should of seen it before he was sacked
That aged well
