Needs more scenes of Batman harpooning cars with the Batmobile and dragging it around the streets and slamming it everywhere with no chance of the occupants surviving. Darker and grittier is what we need.
I haven't actually heard of this book. It looks like a lot of fun. It certainly turned on your love for the S.

Moreover, speaking of a kinder Batman. I think that was the biggest missed opportunity by Tom King in current DC bat stories. The wedding should have went off. Bruce and Selina being married could have opened up a huge chapter in the mythos. Having her identity stolen as Catwoman once she's married would have been a perfect way to spin the old "Off the market" cliche. It would have forced Selina to fight for her legacy and also examine what that legacy will become. She could have went on to be a Gotham matriarch. Not just to Bruce's Batfamily. But to the Gotham underworld. What if she spent her time trying to reach the children who fall into these gangs? Showing them that it's never too late for redemption. She could become a symbol in her own right. Tempering Bruce's quest to bring people to justice with trying to offer younger, less hardened criminals a way out. Which is dangerous in it's own right. She'd be effectively stealing manpower from the villians. Saving souls. It could have been a glorious new chapter in their history. Instead we got another chapter of Tom King working out all the damage his mother did to him as a kid. yay.

What I love about these comic book characters is that they can actually fit in to any type of story that has preceded them. For example, "days of future past" was terminator, but with mutants. Yet, it is regarded as one of the best X-Men stories because of how it was able to strike that perfect balance between an established storylines and the X-men universe, while still maintaining originality.
ou can make A Christmas Carol
Sometimes, all that's really necessary is to just change a lot of the context surrounding the universe in which the characters occupy and that is what makes the superhero mythos good. They can fit into any sort of genre.
That being said, there is a difference between putting a character in an established story, and out and out changing a character so that they can fit into the story, "better".
Most creators these days are just doing the lazy approach.

You should do the Bisley Lobo Christmas special featuring Chris Crusher Kringle from the 90's! I Still have that book. It is silly gory and way over top make me smile still though.
