Thank you so so much, just landed on planet Earth to find a guy as cool as yourself with a cool and as straightforward thinking. It worked for me the first time instead of being ripped off by others. Pay now etc etc.
you are very welcome
2 hours for both makemkv and handbrake? well i have a 1000 bluray movies and a 12TB hard drive. This will take 45 years to complete. NICE
If you want the best quality, skip the handbrake part.
buy a mac never look back
@@MrTomo89 tf is that supposed to mean?
@@MrTomo89 makemkv SUCKS on mac lol
It's 100x slower 😭
Thank you so much for your time spent o educate us all! I have a question, please. Is it better to select one of the options with surround sound, if want to play it at home with a surround sound amplifier and speakers?
yes
This is the best ripping video by far. Thank you so much
This COMPLETELY skips anything related to the drive firmware flashing you need to do to rip a UHD Bluray.
What software would you recommend for flashing?
Nice clear vid Jason 👍🏼 miss your vids they are really helpful
Ah thanks Mate
Thank you Jason! I thought you should something. MakeMKV is only allowing one to use their Blu Ray converting software for 30 days, then they are charging.
@@SuperPertinax And once you ripped in to the Make MKV software how do I now burn it to another bluray disk so I can have a copy?
Why are you telling us that it's free when it isn't?
Can I use an older DVD drive (2014) PLDS DVD+-RW DH-16AES) if I am ripping regular DVDs, not BluRay discs? Like older versions of movies, pre -BluRay?
yes
Is it possible to compress 3D movies with Handbrake also? Thanks for this vid, I found it to be really helpful.
Nice video, I have been using similar programs to MKV with DVD's, and you get a lot smaller file size then you do with Blueray understandable. also if you are burning an Anime it's usually a good idea to click off the Japanese language as you showed one can do in MKV and only have the English (providing it has both options) for it tends to favor the Japanese and you will end up with Japanese instead of English in the final burn providing you want the English of course.
Awesome vid and instruction! Wish I would have found it before I bought anydvd. Thank you for the video!
does this if the disk has copyright protection?
Can this be burned to a DVD disc?
What do if have to do to get the Free Software?. Can this be trans to a USB device.
It's BLU-RAY. Also, its not true that "You are allowed to do this as long as you own the original". In the USA and most countries, the act of breaking the encryption/copy protection to make the backup is unlawful". I don't agree with that and have been copying my collection of dvd's and blu-rays for nearly as long as the media has been around. Still, I just wanted to point this out.
Thanks for the good video. Will MakeMKV rip a DVD and bypass the region codes? I have several DVDs that are for a different region and I am unable to play them on my US Blu Ray player. I want to rip them, burn them to blank DVD's and store that in with the original so I can enjoy them from time to time. I prefer not to store them on my hard drive as I will not access them often enough to justify the space it would take. Thanks!
at the end of the day MakeMKV is free to use, so, try it out and see if it solves your region codes.
Boss, if you compress it. Are you sure it wont reduce the quality of the picture and sound?
depends what options you use when you compress it
Thank you very much! Works perfectly!
NOTE* You must have a Blu-Ray compatible DVD drive
Slight correction: you need a Blu-ray drive, not a (Blu-Ray compatible) DVD drive.
But your message should be pinned at the top of the comment section, thumbs up!
@@anonnomnom3282 blu-ray compatible is better because it has both dvd and blu-ray
@@OrdinarySimonTheJoe aren't almost all Blu-ray drives compatible with DVDs at least mine is?
@@anonnomnom3282 no
@@OrdinarySimonTheJoe odd my Blu-ray player plays DVDs just fine
great overview and I will be taking this up, many thanks.
You are very welcome
@@SuperPertinax Wow I am so glad I found you, you are a God send. I have been breaking my head literately for over 50 hours trying to figure out how or what free software I can use to make a playable Blu- ray disk now that I have the (Make MKV) software. So I now have a MLK file to burn to a Blu-ray disk, but I don't want to burn the image to the Blu-ray, I want to make a playable Blu-ray disk that can simply be put in to my Blu-ray player and boom I start watching the movie, I tried imagburn which some swear it work, I just cannot figure it out, how to find the Root folder for Certificate folder, the ACCS folder, and the BDMV folder to get it to work can you please guide me, I will be another loyal follower of your channel I promise. if possible is there any free software as (make MLK) that doesn't cost anything to do the trick? or will imageburn work if I find the root folders, and if so can you briefly guide me on how to find the root folders for use with imageburn ? thanks
Thank you for this info my guy!
You are very welcome
Note: I have been notified to pay, but I hear you just gotta update the application
Hello May I ask if you’re interested in hiring a Virtual Assistant that can do an all around tasks?
Please let me know
Is there no way to rip DVD's directly from Handbrake anymore?
Yes you still can ,that saying DVDs are way way easier too rip then Blu-ray
Excellent!
Thank you for the great video
you are very welcome
I am trying to rip an old DVD and it get stuck about half way in saving to mkv file with no sound from the drive, should I wait or is it stuck?
What he doesn't tell you, is that it's A 30 DAY FREE TRIAL.
Just renew the key and your have many 30 day trial 😊
I scanned my DVD with MakeMKV and this: Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading 'DVD+R-DL TSSTcorp CDDVDW SN-208FB TM00 S12A6YBFB007W9' at offset '2232627200'

Thank you :-)
Great video, thank you. I wonder if I could just play the rip, without having to compress the movie.
I think you can (I’m almost positive you can) but you need VLC to play the raw MKV file and unless you have a brand-new $1k computer it will probably lag a ton, so compressing is the way to go 👍
I don’t know why the guy in the video made his video less than 1080p, if it’s a 4k movie, keep it 4k, and if it’s 1080p keep it 1080p, it’s still pretty fast and you won’t lose quality
@@charliesretrocomputing I imagine it would also be a matter of storage, uncompressed files will quickly fill your hdds
@@crosspeen1 yes, I bet storage would be a problem 😊
Oh Buddy you are lucky they canceled the disslike count on this ,
Its not "FREE" when your software is only a 30 Days Trial Version .
key no longer working for this
What key
Working for me and I don't gotta key just my house key
Useless for Mac users.
