I met Jerry Mathers, around 1961. He ha a Aunt who was Sister at our Catholic School. Her name was Sister Anastashia, She a really great person. I loved her so. Jerry came into our classroom, and he was very kind , and personable.and explained of how it was being an actor.

My brother and I, may he rest in peace, started watching Leave it to Beaver from the very first broadcast, until they were canceled and then we started watching reruns, I still watch reruns to this day. My brother and I never had a mother and father at home so we adopted Beaver Cleaver's family as our family. There was always a moral to every story, it showed kids how to be respectful towards others especially adults. Today many kids have no respect for anyting. A my opinion it was the best TV show, my brother and I watched on a 19 inch black and white screen. Today is March 6th 2022 oh, tomorrow March 7th marks the day that my brother passed away, 12 years ago.

I am a girl and i love your show!! You were such an wonderful actor at such a tender age. You still have the same charm as well as Tony that you had as children!!
Watched them as a kid growing up in the late '50's and '60's. Watching them now. Stories we can relate to. Seems the Beaver was always getting into trouble, but usually due to peer pressure from Gilbert and Larry. Kids can learn some good morals from the show and others of the era, unlike today's t.v. trash. Younger people prob don't realize that Hollywood actually had decency and morality in those days as did society as a whole. Is it a coincidence that the two have slid so far since then? What we let into our minds eventually comes out in our behaviors. Anyway, thanks to all involved in making the show one of the all time greats!
Jerry mathers big hoorah as an actor was playing the beaver. Still wearing the outfit after 70 years. All you need now is Ernie from my three sons and the Eddie munster kid. People really want his autograph? Go get em guy!!!!

And I would love to see the Movie of the Week (I think it was 1977 - I was overseas with the army) when "Still the Beaver" came out but that was destroyed, too. It's funny that Tony Dow didn't mention that in his interview that all those episodes were destroyed.

I read in TV Guide years ago that some of the shows for LITB were actually taken from things that had happened to members of the cast or crew that worked on the show. I do not know if that is true or not. There were a lot of lessons to be learned about life from that show. that is what I really like about it and always have. I am about 8 months younger than Jerry Mather and I remember that show very well. My kids have watched it and some of my grand kids as well. I think it was the best show of that type on TV back then and better that the trash sitcoms on TV for the past 20 years or more.
