You read my mind. I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s, in So Calif, quite near the beach. Life was pretty perfect. I miss those years so much. The world has changed and it makes me sad.
One thing I like to do is watch old black n white films made in the 40’s-50’s. I love the cars! The homes, and fashion. Film Noir is a favorite too. So many good films were made and RUclips has so many to choose from.

@@m.catherinekirkland3189 We were shown the tank of the toilet in the boys bathroom in their first home. Due to censorship rules at the time none was shown in this home at 211 Pine St. I try to stay true to the homes the way they were shown to us on tv. But I did notice there would be room for one next to the tub in the boys room.

Thank you so much for this. It brought back so many good memories, but it also brought back so much sadness. The Leave it to beaver family, and especially the leave it to beaver house, was the place I always dreamed I would live. I grew up in a family that was often homeless, living in and out of our car, or in cheap motels. Those times when I would catch a rerun of leave it to Beaver, I will close my eyes and always imagined that that would be paradise. To live in that house. That house meant so much. In my mind, it was real. It was just beyond the horizon, around the corner.

That show was so instrumental in teaching moral lessons and family values to America’s youth. It greatly reinforced the values that all Baby Boomers grew up with. You know, everyone makes fun of this type of sitcom because June always looked so well-kempt, but she knew the way to do things, especially cook. She would cook something like a roast, which does not have to be watched, then add a vegetable or two, and some potatoes, and her family was able to eat a good meal with not too much effort. Dessert was mostly ice cream and cookies. They would all help in the clean-up. Me, I cook something waaay too complicated, start late, eat late, and no one cleans up but me.

In my hometown, there is an early 1960's colonial identical to the Leave it to Beaver house, except the garage is on the opposite side. I love how the spaces built around the characters of a show creates such over-arching context as to who these people are and how they live. Context is everything, IMHO, and the Leave it to Beaver house does this so beautifully. One thing I love about this particular home is that it has this sort of idealized comfortable suburban family feel that is the very definition of "Americana". You get the sense that the inhabitants aren't over-extended in debt, but rather, dad makes a comfortable living - at least enough to own a home like this. Another aspect of this home I love is its versatility. There is a reason we've seen the Cleaver home in multiple commercials and at least one other TV series. It's got a look to it that can be converted to fit nearly any regional context without looking out of date or out of place. This house could have existed literally anywhere in the United States, and these people could have easily been your neighbors. I love that because it works. I think this is the very reason the Brady Bunch house has been such an enduring icon of American family living. As for suggestions for our next exciting TV house tour endeavor, I was actually thinking yesterday I should suggest The Cosby Show. Their brownstone townhouse was wonderful. It didn't matter that the actual home they used for establishing shots of the exterior is nowhere NEAR the spacious single-family dwelling it was depicted as on the show. What mattered is that it provided the necessary context we needed in order to understand and relate to the characters on the show. Sorry to geek out once again, but I remember in one episode of The Cosby Show where they built a set to look like the exterior of the home, and it showed the characters coming in and out of the front door. When they opened the door, I expected to see inside the door the living room sofa, the fireplace, etc... but no. Instead, there was a wall with a hall table! It's so funny how they expect viewers to just gloss over those details. Well, it worked 😂. I loved the kitchen, and especially Cliff and Clair's bedroom. It was such a classy TV home. I also loved their backyard, which I think is pretty rare in Brooklyn. Anyway, there you are! Thanks again for the wonderful video. Loved it!

I love this home. I’ve never cared for open concept. Our home was built in ‘77. Just a basic ranch but I love it, and I’m glad we bought it updated but luckily no interior walls gone. If we don’t feel like cleaning up the kitchen right away, we don’t have to look at it and neither do our guests! Also, it’s nice being able to hear the television even if someone is cooking. People don’t think about those things.

However it was always odd to me where the 3rd bedroom (Florence's room/ Guest room when Mother Jefferson took her naps) was. I'm wondering if that room and Lionel's room had a Jack and Jill bathroom. It was clear that Florence had her own bathroom. I'm dying to see that 4th wall!!!

@@jamilaappleby1626 It should be an interesting reconstruction! I saw a floor plan someone did and it showed only two bathrooms, but we know there were four toilets -- on the first day in the new apartment, George reminded everyone of the times when they were poor, and they had to share one bathroom with three other families. He then went around the apartment flushing all four of the toilets -- "four johns, no waiting"! Then Louise called George a "four flusher". It's possible the "his and hers" toilets were in one master bathroom.

I was born and raised in the 50 - 60s. What great times for children. Children could out and roam till dark. We had lots of friends to explore all day with. Most children were raised in God-fearing and loving home. Dad went to work. Mama stayed home to raise the children. We always eat dinner together. Children were raised to show love, respect, and well mannered, and be sure to get an education. I never remember any neighbors having conflict with each other. I just seemed to be happier and more peaceful times. I wish children now could have the same.

Your videos are always fun and very interesting! I worked at Universal Studios as a young actor who needed a survival job back in the 80s when the Leave It To Beave House was still kept that way. I was in Security and got to drive a car around the lot 5 days a week, so I had a great time at it! The Leave It To Beaver House was one of my favorite places to hang out and eat my lunch or just waste some down time back then. The inside was just dirt on the floor with the exception of the Front Entrance which had a wall with a picture that blocked the view into the empty interior. I would get out of my Security Car and sit on the steps a lot of the time and say to myself that I would love to live on a street like that and have a home like the Cleaver home.. but with an interior, thank you!! I was also able to spend a little time on the set of the New Leave It to Beaver a few times before they moved production to Universal Studios Florida. What a great time I had!
I was curious if you had any plans to perhaps sell any low poly versions of your TV Sets on IClone's site of any other platform? I am an IClone user and make Celebrity Look-a-like 3d Models and would be a very happy customer for one!! Regardless, thanks for the great videos and tours!!
