I can totally relate. I’m 59. I also suffer from depression. Being disabled doesn’t help. I used to watch the reruns of Leave It to Beaver almost everyday when I was a kid. Today, I stream a lot of stuff with Hulu and Netflix…and Amazon. Right now I’m rewatching. “Family Ties” which was an 80s favorite of mine that I used to watch in college. Sometimes these old shows really bring back a lot of great memories.

One thing I love is that the show reflects the social structure at the time for middle-to-upper middle class families: Ward going to work every day in a suit, June with her pearls and dresses, the perfect house, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and ‘may I be excused?’ when meals were done. Hey Jerry. Bless you man. I met you in Winston Salem as you were a spokesperson for the Dietetics foundation at a wellness convention. I brought in a signed photographic you called it out as Tony's autograph was fake. Wow. I will always remember our conversation. I became a friend of yours on FB and you posted a pic of you carving a turkey. Many years later I showed my Dad and he could not believe I knew you. Thanks for your kindness, Sincerely Wayne Merry

He is an amazing person. He had a wonderful loving family. He served his country in the Air Force. He got married and had children, for whom he provided love and care. That's the way America was once. It's a shame we no longer hold the same values.

My family and I watched the show every Saturday night . I happened to be in the same grade in school as the Beaver .
I now enjoy the reruns . What a great time to grow up in ! We went outside to play after school and on the weekends without parent's supervision . My Mom used Beaver as a learning lesson ... not to let people talk you into doing something that you weren't allowed to do !
I have so say I love the show as much now as Senior Citizen as I did as a kid !

Fellow Senior Citizen here, and I still get a kick out of watching Leave it to Beaver reruns. It also reminds me that TV when I was a kid was WAY better than the dreck they show nowadays, as was life in general. Thank goodness for reruns!

My wife and I are big fans of leave it to Beaver, we both watched the show as kids during the 60s, and now it's 2024 & I'm 67, my wife is 65, and we still watch episodes of the show daily, one show where Whitey Whitney dared the Beaver to climb up high into a big fabricated coffee cup, & Beaver couldn't resist the dare, saying there's not any coffee in the cup, & Whitey said there was, and off Beaver went, climbing up high, then falling into the cup, which had steam coming out of the cup, of course Beaver fell in and the rest is history, a great episode worth viewing, over & over again, who else out there loved and watched the show as much as we did, and still do! Jerry Mathers is the only one around these days from the immediate Cleaver Family, thank you Jerry for being there now, over 60 years later!
