Morning James. That was lovely of Mark dropping off those logs 🪵 They’ll keep you nice and warm and make you lovely cheese toasties 😋 You playing your guitar 🎸 while you’re working is a real nice touch 👍🏻 Cheers Stevie 😎
I can just see you moored up in the winter somewhere - freezing outside - log fire going - a few beers and your guitar audible outside - wonderful way to spend an evening
Oh my goodness a different-look James~ I’m sure I saw a cutie baby animal head in a roof rubbing, must be this upside-down world I live in down here down under 🙃 Indeed, nice logs, nice bag, nice Mark, sweetie sheeps, not forgetting The Vatcan Man, and too the towpath-cat 🐈 Cheers 🐨
please someone esle seen that Pressure-treated wood is a big no-no for fire. lumber is often treated with harsh chemicals like arsenic and chromate, making it resistant to pests
Agree I wouldn't burn that timber How to identify treated timber Common sources of treated wood that might be used as firewood are old building and fence materials and offcuts of timber from building construction. Other sources can be old power poles, sleepers and wharf or bridge timbers. Finding out whether timber has been treated is easy for some preservatives, but more difficult for others. For example, the common preservative CCA (copper chrome arsenic) has a distinct green colour, but this fades with time so it might not be obvious on the outside of the timber. Generally any softwood (pine) that has been in the open for more than a year and has not rotted will have been preservative treated.
Easy job to put your amp under there, easiest way would be to put a whole practice amp under the seat and drill speaker holes and put an extension jack through......or go the whole hog and strip the amp and fit volume/bass/mid/treb/distort knobs and a jack to the outside for easy access...obviously you will need a 240v supply under there too :)
Hatch problem solved by dirt cheap PVC doorstops from your favourite Screwfix or Toolstation, less than £2 for a pack of ten. Just screw them on preferably with a stainless self tapper. You only need one on the middle outer edge of each door.
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt You fade sometimes James, when you’re taking an outside long-shots along the planking beside the boat with you at one end and the camera at the other~
Are we talking 10 watt practice amp, or 400 watt PA? If the former, how about at the end of the dinette, with the switch, socket, and pots brought through the front. Would act as a bass box, too. ;o)
That cat seems determined to photobomb you. For the hatch doors, the round rubber stops used on bus doors might work. It does mean drilling little holes for the screws, but they might be the most effective.
James, those bits that stick up on the stern, are they for holding on a skirt? If they are you might not want to cut them off. I’m just thinking that in the future it might be a good idea to get one...it would keep wind and weather off you and keep you a bit warmer.
Building in an amp is cool. Get a head/cab seperate setup and you can put things where you want. Have you tried playing into the new generation of amp sims though? JCM800 in Amplitube sounds way better than a real one unless you have Air Studios available.

Hmm, that wood looks a lot like pressure impregnated wood which you definitely do not want to burn!

i just used easysand car body filler on low spots and pitted areas before painting
I would have paid money to watch you work in the office attire. Lol! Treat it like body work on a car.
oh - of course - the rope fender goes across the back of the hull so belay the suggestion on where to put the boat name!

Evening James,
Have you seen the weather forecast for Monday, Batten down the hatches,
Wow dont you look different in a tie .... make sure you find time to eat Captain 👍
With a project like that, there's other things to do while waiting for the previous step to be ready. ;-)
that bluetooth (?) mike you got a while back makes a huge difference to the sound quality now - look forward to the next one - take care..
thats good to know thanks Adrian. I think Ive nearly got the levels right.

A good general cleaner is elbow grease I use it I get it in Asda if not chemist may sale it
Hmm, maybe you should install speakers in the ceiling while you still can access it.
theres not enough clearance - i did think that. also theres no room for bass - could be fine for tweeters though
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt A subwoofer under the dinette would be perfect ha ha

thats my thinking - will explain more in next vid - I think its a 40 watt practice amp. roland ch-40
🎥👌👍
Can you put the filler over the dips also? Just wondering if that would help.

Whatever you do with the amp, make sure the volume control goes up to 11!

Plugs guitar into the dinette. Did someone say chair guitar or air guitar?
Job interview or court case....
James be very careful with that wood - if it is pressure treated then it’s not going to be good for you or your neighbours
Well hello there. Aren't you a tall drink of water all dressed professional.
Bloody hell you look different though I hit the wrong video
