      The most important thing about those popped blisters is that they are allowed to dry out for ages -some people say months or the problem will just happen happen again. Get a mixture meter and don't fill the holes till it reads dry.
      Make sure they are filled with epoxy not polyester resin. Make sure you see the can.
      Also the antifouling paint is highly poisonous and carcinogenic and you should never have been near it without a full plastic suit on and a face mask plus breathing apparatus if you are using a sander or grinder. That yard doesn't know anything of they didn't tell you that and insist on it.

    Glad you put the sailboat on the hard, especially given the stuffing box condition. Understand you have a lot of provisions on board (like 300 lbs of rice) and have a comment and suggestion.
    Rice and other grains may/usually have unhatched weevil eggs in them (not harmful) but over long time they will hatch and make it unpleasant to use/cook rice and other grains.
    Suggestion- take a look at a 2yr old YTube episode of Emily & clarks Sailing Adventure that shows you how to use CO2 (bottle from supply store) to kill the eggs so they never hatch and your 300lbs of rice will be useable to the last lb. CO2 can also be used to make carbonated beverages.

    • @californiakayaker
      @californiakayaker Год назад +6

      Some folks freeze things like rice and noodles / grains ect and that kills the weevil eggs. Then they are stored in a 5 gallon bucket with a tight lid.

    a good surveyor to consult and advise you and to find professionals to do correct fixing where the drive shaft exits inner hull to outer hull, and all other weakened areas , ie rudder bearing , rudder attachment areas , losing a rudder in blue water is an impossble scenario,
