This is a quick review for the Boogie Board Blackboard LCD writing pad / tablet. It's helping me save trees when going after my 18 Month Goal!
* UPDATE* Eraser works OK after calibration. Still not perfect, but the device is still worth it.

I use these to communicate with my grandpa who can only have visitors through the window and is hard of hearing.
"Unfortunately this does not save the image?'" This is an analog instrument, not a digital. Another RUclips reviewer stated that the "pixels" pick up the pressure from the pen. But there ARE no pixels. There is no reason it SHOULD save your drawing. This is an analog device. Less like a computer-generated image, and more like a cave-man scratching on a rock. And how did the cave-man ultimately save a copy of his cave-drawing. He took a photo of it, of corse.
1. that's LCD, so it uses electricity. It's digital.
2. that's LCD, so it has pixels - not exactly pixels, but graphic units that are bigger than a small dot. A crystal.
BUT it's minimalistic, so yeah, they didn't provide a way to save your picture.
Also: an actual blackboard does the same thing without electricity.
Also: a pen and paper saves your idea.
This product isn't really an improvement per se. Also involves quite an engineering + more pollution and CO2 to make this than the whole paper industry.
@@nicojar Electricity is not the same as digital. This is not programmed. It is not coded. If you were to save this info you would just not hit the rest button. If you plan to, you have to make an impression of the current state of the image. Aka a photograph.
If you can’t save what you’ve written or drawn to your computer or phone, what good is it? I generally don’t scribble just to be scribbling
It's useful for me when I try out some equations. I then put the correct solution on my good copy of the assignment

Absolutely!! You have all reason. This device is useless
You can use the app to take a pic and it will convert it to a readable pic on a white backgroud

Hey this is handy then using a dry erase board, you can snap a pic and press a button and it disappears!
Totally want the Carbon Copy pen, but at $160.00, I really wish they had an up close view of fine lines, like for doing math with hyper script, and subscripts. Could you possibly do a review of the Carbon Copy Pen?
Calibrate your eraser button to 5 or 6 and it should not dim the writing when you hold the erase button and smudge is it as bad.
Can you HDMI it to TV for presentations?

Hmm, yet if one prints a copy to place under it and take notes, then why not draw directly on the copy? There's not really a paper saving in that situation :)

Yes, there is a 8.5 inch one. Doesn't have glass on it either.

Eh. Without some 'save to pdf' type feature it's just not that useful.

Nothing to indicate on or off? just wondering how to switch it off ? If I can spare battery use -does it go into sleep mode? Maybe I am just not understanding the product?
It only uses battery when it erases

Calibrate the erase mode as per directions. It works great for me
I've seen the calibration feature. On your unit what would you say the brightness scale goes down when you have it set to say level 8 to 12 erase quickly. % wise? From the videos I've watched just going from level 1 to 2 the screen dims 50% off the bat.
Regarding Boogie Board: Great manifestation of a concept. But, the concept seems to have some way to go. I received my board as a XMAS gift. Apparently, it cost $30 at Fred Meyers. After two months of playing with it, the nib on the pen broke off. My wish list includes more immediate capacity of no less than 50 pages. I don't want to take a picture of it and load to Apple. My use of Apple is near zero. From my POV, the product has magnificent potential. I like your enthusiasm, although from my POV it is off the mark. BTW, thank you for posting. Take care.
