True, didn't know there was an Android app...but is the app needed when all you do is take a picture? Can't I do that with my camera? I assumed the app would auto download whats on the screen. I don't understand
@@Swit70 You can just take a picture of it, yeah. I ended up returning it not too long after I got it (it's not bad, just wasn't what I needed), so I might be off on this. I believe the app just gives you more options and is made to convert the text on the board into something that's easier to read.
Dang if this would connect blue tooth to your phone or pc and live update what you write and let you scroll through your notes it be 10/10. But this whole picture thing makes what could be a 10/10 product a 1/10 product. Maybe they make a more advanced version that makes it less of a toy.
Rocketfish has a similar concept of taking pictures (they don't even have their own app), and the pages can only be erased through heat, and people "love" it for some reason, but didn't realize the ink refill costs like $15 bucks every few months. The ink refill will dry out even without using it. And nowadays people lift their big arse iPad pro to take pictures as notes during lecture anyway, so this is really not a big deal. For syncing, you can go for the Remarkable2, which is $400 dollars more. The thing I wish the blackboard has though is a white background and an even less reflective screen. When taking pictures and converting it to b/w, there's always these dark spots result from the reflection.
Well, there is a product by boogie board such as this, it is called Carbon Copy. Replace the black Board shown here with the carbon copy. Then use the additional pen. It then recognizses you strokes immediately and transfers it.
The boogie board sync sends screens via Bluetooth. And they're supposed to be releasing a transparent screen that still writes bright, uses Bluetooth And they're all secretly flexible outside of their casings
If it had an SD card and you could just hit a save button and have a page forward/page back function, id say it was amazing. But pretty much its a piece of paper. a 500 page brick of paper is like 3$ at Microcenter .... and I can save and scan those pages into a computer just as easily as with this device (easier actually cause I can doit in bulk via a scanner and paper feed tray). without a save/page view function I dont see the point really. NOW IF IT WAS A GIANT PIECE like 4ft x 3ft or something, that would be awesome as a replacement for conventional dry erase boards and markers.
I just got one at Costco a week ago. Question...does yours seem nice and bright? Says the battery is supposed to last 5 years...but I'm wondering if mine is just needing to be replace because it's rather faint and hard to see at times
Please update your video: There is a new pen out for the Blackboard, the Carbon Copy. The hardware is all in the pen. It digitizes the drawing for you. I really hope they make a newer Blackboard that has thinner lines. Thin, thin, thin lines would be perfect. Cheers!
Thanks! Most people don't show the Android app. This is probably one of the best reviews of this. Keep it up!
Thanks so much for that support. Means a lot. There is more to come.

Mine seems as bright as can be. Check your erasing settings to check that your getting the best result.

Why didn't you draw the face directly on your phone instead of going through all the functions?

Unfortunately, no it doesn't
This is sweet.
To much detail for the smiley face as an example; it could just be a squiggle
