I’ve been fishing for like a week and I have already hooked myself twice lol
It happens lol I was flipping a jerk bait for some dumb reason and the hook was half way in my finger hurt super bad
been fishing for a year now and i hook myself everyday i go fishing lol
Just bought myself my first rod that came with braid , reel and lures . Put the reel on the rod ,line on the reel, lure on the line and then finger onto lure . Technically my first ever catch was me.
Welcome to fishing 😅
i’ve been fishing for a year and never had a problem with this, suddenly a week ago on a really hot day the bass were going crazy when i brought them out of the water, got hooked 8 times and hooked past the barb while the fish was still on, was scared to even catch one, this helps a lot
Thanks for the tips. Plan to take full advantage after this storm passes
I really love all the very helpful tips on how to rig and fish the baits Thank you for all the helpful tips thank you for sharing this awesome tip baeuse i have been hooked a few times trying to get the crank bait hooks out of the fish Thank you so very much for the amazing tips i am very happy to be able to watch all the very helpful tips Thank you again
Thanks Glenn. I've just recently caught a few fish on cranks, a red and brown wiggle wort and a rapala dt6, after trying last year for the first time with no luck. I agree, a net and pliers are a must. And, following your suggestion, I took some line off my spinning reel and the wind knots have pretty much stopped. Thanks for the tips!
Glad I can help. Thanks for subscribing as well.
Great video Glen, surprisingly I haven't really been hooked by treble hooks but I'm a magnet for jigs poking me haha.
New to bass fishing thanks for helping me avoid the pain. lol
it has been a very long time since the last time I've hooked myself. Thanks Glen for all the great videos!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Good tip. I'm somewhat allergic to treble hooks in my hand.
I've been fishing for bass for over 40 years and I've only been hooked by a crankbait once and it wasn't from landing a fish. I did learn a couple of things that I will be able to use in the future. Thanks for the hints.
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Great advise. Just had one throw some hooks in me a few days ago.
It is quite amazing what a little preparedness and thinking can do on the water ... Makes fishing so much better not having swollen hands from getting barbed by hooks a million and one times. As you can see I've learned this the hard way many moons ago.... Been a very big believer in the net and pliers.
Thanks for the support, and thanks for watching!
Great video. Have yet to get hooked badly but have had some close calls. These tips will help!
Thanks for the support, and thanks for watching!
You do it once you learn to be more careful. As usual another great informative video. Thanks Glen!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
Excellent video. I use a net as well. I fish out of a kayak so I'm basically at water level, so that helps. I remove the hooks while the fish is in the net. Then toss lure out of the way and then handle the fish. You are spot on about the fish usually flinching. Grab them firm and hold on!
Thanks for the feedback and support. I look forward to hearing more from you.
I'm learning a lot from these videos, please keep them coming!
Thanks for watching!
I used to use mustad hooks on my walleye rigs. Have switched to the gamakastu hooks. Super sharp, no rust. That's my choice of hook now.
This is the best video ive seen in a while. Keep em coming. Love the bassin! Vic
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Good tips! Always extra cautious with treble hooks.
I have always used my hand for the most part and needle nose when I need. I do use my net when I get ung up cranking shallows to in snag it. Good advice!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Thank you for this information. I will practice this. As with all of you tips you made the information easy to understand.
Thanks for the feedback and support. I look forward to hearing more from you.
A really great video. Much information that I did not know about crankbaits and unhooking a bass. It seems that every time I watched Bass Resource.com I come away with something new. Thanks much.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
Good advice. I will definitely put it to use. Thanks Glen!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
great advise I have done this plenty
Never to old to learn. Great info.
Yes! Good video for so many reasons! Being hooked by your own lure is no fun! Thanks again, Glenn!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching
Great tip, nothing like a sharp treble to the finger tip to make you rethink technique!
I needed this last weekend!
Have yet to hook myself deep but will definitely use these tips if i do
Thank you so much for the great tips! i wish i would have seen this video before i hooked myself in the finger last month!
Good advice,I always try to do the same when using crankbaits.
Great tips again. I've hooked myself before not bad. But when I was younger lad my brother got me good. Double trebles behind the ear. Short visit to the ER solved that problem.
Luckily I've never hooked myself getting a fish off, but I sure have had other people hook me on casts!
Great tips. Simple yet effective
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Great video. Been hooked trying to get crankbait out!!!
Thx for the healthy reminders, and keep a first aid kit handy. No plan is a plan to fail!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.

Pliers work really well also. (I never use a net and have never hooked myself either.)
I hadn't thought about grabbing the lip of the lure. Thanks!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
I definitely know about that rod spring! Great tips and excellent video.
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Very good point with the net . Pliers are a must . Good info .
Thanks for the support, and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tip Glen !
good information! I'll put it in practice on my next trip!
Glad to help. Let me know how it works out as I would love to see the results.
Good video. Hadn't thought about grabbing the crankbait above the bill. Needle nose are a must--if you've ever had to push a hook through your hand you know how critical it is to have them handy.
That’s a good tip as well. Thanks for sharing.
Been fishing a couple dozen years myself and never hooked myself with a crank bait. I have hooked a few friends though...LOL. Like you said the rod is a loaded spring with a fish on it and thats exactly how I hooked others, the fish came of the crank bait and flung behind me to where my partner fishes from.
That is exactly how I remove the hooks (needle nose pliers). Always have some available. Great tip!!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.

I have hooked myself a couple of times. Thanks for the advice
