  • Fallout New Vegas is my favorite game of all time, and it is for many others as well. Despite my feelings on the game, no one can deny that it has it's fair share of issues. People have been asking for a New Vegas Remake for years, but Does Fallout New Vegas Need A Remake?? I've compiled a list of pros and cons to finally answer this question myself

New vegas is like a 10/10 game that had a rushed development and turned out to be an 8.2/10 game you can see how good it could have been if it was given an extra 2 years development and made on the Skyrim engine.

@LyteRetro no you're right. I'm an obsidian fan boy. But the technical truth. Obsidian agreed to a shitty timeline.
HOWEVER. BETHESDA BOTS forget they knew this too. Bethesda knew fro. the beginning they were shafting them. And what me (and other reasonable
old obsidian fans) are lissed at is the bonus. Obsidian was promised a bonus on an obscenely high metacritic score as well.
Obsidian gave Bethesda the single most beloved asset flip known to man (name another game made using practically 90% the sane models and is so hotly contested to be better then the assets first fame), under the worst conditions possible. and when asked for a bonus, withhold it. The metacritic score was shy of just points of being what Bethesda wanted. But due to BETHESDAS SHITTY ENGINE the game lost points due to being unstable (because games Bethesda makes with its engines work so well) while being PRAISED for its story and effective recycling if everything else. And Bethesda shafted them. Look at 90% of critiques from the game, especially on release. and it isn't because of the quality of the story design or art. sure some people the game isn't for. but that doesnt make the game bad. Just like Fallout 3 isn't inherently a bad game because I think the green overhaze is shitty compared to orange overhaze. I play and enjoy all fallout games including isometric (minus 76, but some friends and i are gonna try itt soon) and Fallout new vegas single handedly did more gor the fallout series then literally anything Bethesda did for it. all while sitting on the creators of the product.
for those wondering why I support a product from a company I don't like. I'm on PC. zdevelopers only get my money when I want them too ;) and that's why me n friends waited for 76. no free rides for MMOs but I'll be damned if I give them more then 20 bucks.

Honestly, if the mod that puts New Vegas in the Fallout 4 engine comes out well, I don’t think we’d need a remake, since fallout 4 is still a great looking game.

Idk, I think certain things could be updated (The Strip being more populated and active comes to mind) but New Vegas is what it is. You could put it in a modern engine and it'd be a fun novelty, but at the end of the day the magic of New Vegas is all the parts interlinked, including the outdated graphics and crummy engine.

Personally, I think any company who tried to remaster new Vegas would butcher it in some way, either by adding content that doesn’t fit with lore, or by simplifying game mechanics like fallout 4 did. I can say that the game is truly enjoyable without any modded content besides bug and crash fixes, and it is a strong contender for best in the series

Bethesda needs to remake New Vegas and Oblivion to remind consumers why Bethesda was highly regarded.
Then fire Todd Howard, and build/expand with new direction for Fallout 5 and ES6.

Play on Xbox through new Vegas multiple times the only real glitches of found is NPC‘s after you kill them, their bodies, ascending into the heavens stretching across the wind and then hitting you in the face and you somehow die that’s it that’s why I Xbox it’s just built different

I really want this to be remade. For the most part, it seems that Obsidian has kept their "magic" intact through the years unlike Bethesda. But if it never happens, not a huge deal because playing on the Xbox Series X is near flawless. It has never crashed on me once with hundreds of hours logged and even the bugs are very minimal. I kinda want to play again on PC with some of the new mods but when i did that years ago, i remember it took days and a lot of trial and error to get the game how i liked it.
New Vegas feels even more special now since it is a memorial to the awesomeness of Matthew Perry.

Honestly, I believe every game needs a remake, especially if they're considered a masterpiece, not a definitive edition, a remake, or a remastered or a port for the next generation to get The next generation to play these masterpieces even though people like to shit on companies for constantly releasing the same game on every console. Possible the thing about a remake or a remastered to do it right and he's better graphics but it needs additional content to make the old fans come back. That's how you properly do a good remake. You either rework some system or you take some of the scrap content and make it available for DLC at launch or you add new systems or you rework old ones

Nah, I like it the way it is. Maybe if they actually did get to put in everything and only lightly focus on the visuals.
We all know that by the time they made the “new” gameplay systems work there will be little time to fit together all the pieces and all the new pieces.

I want a remake because the first act of the game is too slow and we didn't get enough Legion content. The strip also needs one or two more casinos.

  • @KovoriaTheConquerer
    @KovoriaTheConquerer 7 месяцев назад

Yes, it needs a remaster (not even a remake) for one purpose… becoming a 64-bit application. Like when Skyrim SE released, but they don’t even need to do as much as they did for that remaster.
It would no longer be limited to reading 4GB RAM and face constant memory crashes and thus you would need many less mods just to make the game function and just work. Not to mention that it would cause New Vegas to enter a modding renaissance the same way Skyrim SE did for the Skyrim community. If some ex-employee could release the source code anonymously the modders could do it themselves.

Does New Vegas need a remake? Absolutely. In fact, I want a New Vegas remake using Fallout 4’s engine while still retaining its weaponry choices. Because that’s my biggest praise for the game. The choices in guns being both practical and lore-friendly. Seriously, I cannot stand the sight of the “assault rifle” abomination in Fallout 4. Which is why I replaced that shit with an actual AR-15.

literally make option 2, but give then indefinite time. If bethesdas team of 600, uses 30 people, for 5 years to develop a fully remaster, there is literally 0 way they dont get ROI. Update the game. Remake the exact game. but pretty, refinish cut content. and just use the newest iteration of Gamebryo.
