Mike Dawes treated us to a stirring rendition of his song "The Old Room" from his album "Era" Check out Mike's RUclips channel here: / mikedawesofficial
As are you misko! To be honest when I first heard your music I was really jealous because we are about the same age. You've helped push me harder in my pursuit of music though and have given me a lot more fresh, new, and different ideals that I wouldn't have reached on my own. You are a true genius and I can't wait to see how your style will continue to develop throughout your life. Never stop never stopping. As if I even have to tell you that. Thanks for your amazing music man. Do you have any tabs available? I would love to learn your cover of take me on. Last I checked I couldn't find tabs though.
I logged in specifically to make this comment. Just want to show some love for Mike Dawes, such an incredible talent and composer... I learned earlier tonight that Mike is opening for Tommy Emmanuel in NY this April and I'll be DAMNED if I'm not there. Can't freaking wait!!!!
One of the only players that carries on the tradition of beauty in this approach like Michael Hedges. So many people can demonstrate those techniques now, but few get the vibe. Mike does.
Seen Mike lots of times. A true once in a lifetime talent. Two years ago at Aldershot he played this for me as a request. At that time he had only played it once before publicly, but since then he has put it in his set list. He's probably the best player in the world. That c#m9 tuning is incredibly bizarre.
I love the expression of joy and excitement mixed with almost surprise on Mike's face while he plays ("How am I even making these sounds???!!!). I also suspect he has one more finger joint in each of his left hand fingers compared to us mere mortals... :-) Beautiful stuff Mike, thanks for the inspiration
Been practicing this song for two months or so. Sounding good but then I rewatch this vid and I'm reminded of how much "cleaning up" I have to do with my sound. Mike, ya done good on this one. My mom thinks it's a beautiful song, lol. Side note: I love how visibly pleased Mike is after he nails the scale at 3:25. PS cough cough ... Bella Soave tab ... please ... cough cough
Open D, if I'm not mistaken. But I could well be. I do know that Mike has tabs of his tunes on his website, though: mikedawes.co.uk/product-category/tab/ 🙂
@@Nitsua_Atayha Actually, the song is tuned : B,F#,C#,D,A,D. Had the pleasure of taking lessons from Mike in person last summer. Wonderful guitarist, wonderful man.
@@realmofreason2822 I was just assuming it was dadgad because Mike always Tunes his guitar to that as pretty much his standard I shouldn't be so ignorant next time many apologies
That’s fantastic. Mike is a genius and that reverb accompanies him so great!

People are rushing for Percussion. Guitar Music is disappearing. We want melodies not Heavy Percussion
totally reminds me of Michael Hedges - who I saw in a bar back in...omg what year? 1991?
I can’t stop watching this please help
Same here, fck damn
Still can't find a better replacement for this song

Mike is one of my all time favourite guitar players and the hall of fame is one of my favourite reverbs. This is perfection
The master of melody & harmony.
Simply astounding.
those pluck harmonics are giving me shivers
Love the way that rings...

O MELHOR!
Too bad it took a Anderton's Musc video for me to learn about Mike Dawes. He's incredible.
Has some strong Buckethead vibes.
Yes !! I think about him !
Colma album?
True Spirit Of Gypsies vibes
Okay, you are the one who made me familiar to Buckethead 🙏
@@bidyutdatta5042 I can live with that :D
This guy is my new fav acoustic artist. What guitar is that?
It's a custom made guitar for Mike Dawes built by a German Luthier Alexander Cuntz
Shaggy from Scooby Doo is putting me to shame on his acoustic guitar chops
when you forget to turn your tuner off but the camera is already rolling
!
a lot of Pino Forastiere influençes in it. Thanks
I would say Pierre Bensusan, the streching chords and the runs in the melody
