- There's not a lot of good news coming out of the Gaza crisis, but one ray of light is that the reaction from students and professors in the West has woken up university funders to what exactly they've been funding.
Wokeism started on universities. Gender ideology, Marxism, critical race theory, decolonialism - it all sounds like loopy student nonsense. But the Hamas attacks showed us exactly what theories such as decolonialism mean in practice.
Elite universities have lost hundreds of millions, if not billions, in funding over this, and students have lost job offers. It's a proper Bud Light moment for universities. Hopefully this is the start of the end of wokeism.

Israel has a policy of protecting civilians obviously it's own civilians first.
hamas has a policy of maximizing death, on the israeli side to create fear, and on the Palestinian side to have as many sad underdog stories to tug on the wests heart strings and blame all the human suffering on israel.
so to recap you have one group who's leadership is trying to protect their own and having fewer casualties at that, and on the other side a group that spreads death anywhere it can that's causing death to their own people as well. and (some) people are rallying behind the underdog regardless of anything else

I'm so relieved that there is still a sense of decency and they are pulling funding from universities. They need to remove all of the professors that have used their position to promote this ideology. They need to be held accountable for all this suffering and misinformation they have spread. When this happened, because of the scale of it, I started reading about history of the region, which is freely available on the Internet. These people don't want to understand and just take positions with who they deem the weakest and the more oppressed in a very superficial way (like everything else, they don't try to understand the why). But I haven't forgotten about the genocide, I read about Jewish people's stuggle throughout history, I looked into the events leading to this situation. We're not an active part of international wars and generally only deploy troops outside our borders in humanitarian missions, like during the Haiti earthquakes. I don't see how getting involved in a religious war between Israel and Palestine, in literally the other side of the world, is in any way a good thing for the Argentinian people.
And as I said in my previous post, both sides have shed blood in our land over conflicts that weren't ours. The ethical thing for us is to tell both to leave, I'm not even asking for military retaliation against them, just no more violence involving my people. The issues between their peoples are that, theirs.

I'm Jewish and I genuinely feel terrible for Palestinians' suffering. I will also admit that my research indicates that Israel has not always been in the right. So, I cannot speak to events of the past and can only address the present.
I will say this: one need only look around the world at protests/rallies to find that Jews have congregated in mass (e.g., Washington DC USA = 240,000 plus people) and not a single act of violence. Can the same be said for Palestinian protests? If you have children, you know that you protect your loved ones with your heart. This is what Israel is doing right now.

The support for the barbaric actions of Hamas coming from within Universities has been a real eye opener for many. All the wokeness has largely been accepted with open arms by the educational classes. However, after the atrocities by Hamas on 7th October, the majority have been astounded by the ignorance of so many students and educators. The blind support of Hamas, under the excuse of defending Palestinians, is just totally unacceptable to anyone with a modicum of humanity. Israel have an absolute right to strike back against Hamas.
