  • LINK to Instant Pot Mini: amzn.to/2yYTlfs RICE FUNCTION VIDEO: • Instant Pot Mini Rice ... Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the Instant Pot Duo Mini. This is the smallest Instant Pot at 3 Quarts. There are 6 and 8 Quart versions. I have reviewed the 6 quart version and a link to that review is here: • Instant Pot IP-DUO60 7... . This 3 quart measures 11.4 inches wide and 11.2 inches tall. It weighs 8.6lbs. The cord is almost 24 inches long. It’s got two handles so it’s easier for carrying.
RECIPE for similar chicken curry with instructions, just add enough water for Instant Pot:
    • Easy Chicken Curry in ...
The user manual is very detailed, there are cooking times and water quantity listed. The recipe book with recipes for soup, chili, rice, vegetables, meat, fish, oats and dessert. For Creme Brulee, you can use ramekins and put them in a steam basket. Any oven proof dish can be used in this unit.
To test the Instant Pot, First I’ll cook rice. When cooking rice, measure the rice and water using the same cup whether it’s your own or the included one. I’ve measured 2 cup of rice that has been washed and soaked in water for 15 minutes. I drained the rice, I’m adding 3 cups of cold water. This is the exact recipe from the recipe book for basmati rice which is a long grain rice. Close the lid and lock. Press pressure cook and set 4 minutes. When the time has counted down, use the natural pressure release method which should take 10 minutes. I’ll time it.
Now I’ll make a chicken curry. This is a whole chicken cut up and marinated. Press sautee and I’ll choose normal for regular browning, you’ll see hot displayed after a few minutes. Add vegetable oil, cumin seeds, chopped onions, garlic, ginger and green chiles. Turmeric, chili powder, garam masala. Now chopped tomatoes. The tomatoes are soft, now we’ll add the chicken, salt and mix really well. I’ll add water just until it covers the chicken, about 2 cups. It is recommended to add at least 1 cup of water or other liquid so there’s enough steam to cook under pressure. That’s what I would do with a stove-top pressure cooker. Put the lid on. Press Pressure cook and set to 10 minutes. Use quick pressure release. If you want the curry thicker, press the saute button and leave the lid off until the liquid reduces. Add some chopped cilantro and you’ve got curry in 20 minutes.
When using the saute function, don’t put the lid on. You can however, use a glass lid with a venting hole.
I hope that you round this review helpful. If you did, please like and share this video. Subscribe and I'll see you next time. Thanks for watching :)

I'm an over the road trucker and let me tell you the 3qt model is perfect! It saves me alot of money while on the road when it's time to eat and it's alot healthier for me too vs the alternative fast food.
Totally recommend anybody to get one!

Andre Tosch, When the bowl is still a little warm take it out and just wipe it down with some sterile wipes. The same goes for under the lid too. And that's it. Done! :-)
Unless of course you made a huge mess with it. Then you gotta hose it down.

Thanks for this! I have been debating which size to buy (3 vs 6) for a two person household, and most videos recommend the 6 quart, which seems excessive for two people who are not meal prepping. Given how much food you managed to cook in the pot, it's clear the 3 quart is exactly what I need.

To anyone who's considering the duo mini: it gets the burn notice every time I use the sauté mode before using the pressure cook mode. You need to cool down the bowl after using sauté.

    • @gail4101
      @gail4101 2 месяца назад +3

That’s why I gave my first two away!!!😵‍💫 until I discovered it was me doing the sauté improperly…you do not have to cool it down…just turn the sauté off, turn on the pressure cook button, add the liquid you needed to use anyway and make sure to use a wooden spoon to scrape/stir the bottom fond (browned bits) and then proceed from there…I ruined a few roasts till I discovered that that’s why

It should be noted that the 'cup' included in the instant pot is the same as rice cooker 'cups'

When she says turn the valve to sealing, she means ‘sealing’ the pressure cooker. You will find a ‘sealing’ position and a ‘venting’ position. The sealing position allows the pressure cooker to build up the pressure. ❤️

Hi Alicia, glad it was helpful. The whole spices are cumin, cinnamon, cardamom and cloves. There are chicken curry recipes on my Anitacooks channel. They can be made in the instant pot. Here are some recipes: ruclips.net/video/FxmlFMjZkuY/видео.html ruclips.net/video/kZcyjKnDE7M/видео.html Enjoy :)

Such a concise review without unnecessary commentary. Thanks for showing the unboxing, initial setup and actual cooking. Great job!
Quick question, how come you used the Pressure Cook button for rice instead of the Rice button?

Hi, thank you for the positive comments! I followed the basmati rice recipe from the manual to see how it would work. You can of course use the rice setting.

I notice for the rice you used pressure cook. What is the RICE button for then?

Hi Ruby, you can definitely use the Rice button. I just followed the exact recipe in the manual for basmati rice to see how it would turn out :)

If you Google "Instant pot perfect rice" you will find the best instructions for all kinds of rice on the official IP website. The Rice button works better for generic white rice, other rice varies in time, which is why basmati is slightly different here.

I ordered the Duo Nova May 2020 and there was NO cookbook and NO utensils were included. Do you know if things have changed since your video?

Hi Terry, yes the Duo Nova does not include a cookbook. It includes 2 sealing rings and a rack. Here’s my review of the Duo Nova if you’re interested: ruclips.net/video/G0HYd8ndFJE/видео.html
