An absolute legend and it'd be great having him do music for Metal Heads one day and perhaps even some 3-2-1-GO count-downs etc just for fun :)
I nearly came when I got the chance to see in flames play year. Been listening to them since my cousin showed me clayman back when it came out in 2000/2001 ish. One of the best concerts I've been to, with breaking Benjamin and chevelle (when wonder whats next released) taking the cake. Chevelle is one of my absolute favorite bands, a d was really my introduction to much lower-tuned songs. The early 2000s really opened my world musically, considering most of the music I listened to previously had been either classical or classic rock (Beatles, Elvis, moody blues etc.)
What’s crazy is Matt’s story’s is almost exactly like mine band wise. I actually started doing death metal vocals first, covering cannibal corpse, deicide, death and a few others. I shifted over to the more traditional metal vocals at the age of 17. Big influences were Slipknot, trivium, killswitch engage and fear factory. I wanted to be Corey and Burton so damn bad lol. But drugs got ahold of me at a young age and I quit music at 18. Still got it in me though!

Your journey through music discovery is identical to mine. And also my daughter has been listening to metal since she was born. She headbangs and throws the devil horns.
I used to have a fierce scream with a lot of range until I blew out my vocal chords (days before a show no less). Days later I got sick and had to make a trip to the hospital. Ever since I get this lump in my throat once in a while that no amount of throat clearing will dislodge. I've had a scope, meds, lessons and tried everything to get rid of it but to no avail. Even one of the American Idol coaches couldn't help. I can still scream but only for a few minutes if I'm lucky but then I start to choke a little or get like hiccups that make me feel like barfing. It sucks because screaming used to and still is one of my favorite things. It just feels so f****** good, (when it works). Oh well, Matt you are a f****** GOD!!
I saw these guys on accident one weekend just taking my cousin to random shows I would go to every weekend in Dallas. They were touring pull harder on the strings of your martyr , great time to be a teenager.
If you want too hear the best screamer, singer period look no farther than AVATAR. Truly amazing what this guy can do with his voice. Live he's just as good. Nobody else comes even close. The best metal band out imo.
I learned how to scream, the false chord or fry vocals or whatever you want to call it, at a very young age. It was just this weird growly thing I did when I was little. Something I'd do to goof around. Then I heard it in music. It's easy to me because I stumbled upon proper technique by blind chance before I was even in grade school.
Every single time that I hear the word "discipline" I immediately think of Matt Heafy.

Best thing that worked for me : - Having a car, training my screams while singing to different bands, - Melissa Cross : Zen of Screaming 1 & 2, - Listening to different vocals, trying different ways to achieve different sounds, experimenting a lot ! (that's the most important imo).

Really awesome vocalist, and a favourite of mine for years. Keep being awesome Matt!
If you guys have watched him stream live on Twitch, he does an absolutely fantastic job for a non studio recording or stage environment and without even warming up most of the time.
Fear Factory & Slipknot aren't exactly "traditional metal" bands.
@@perunlowtuned well I mean when I was growing up that was old school traditional back in the late 1900’s early 2000’s.
@@luiswiley86 Nobody in the early 2000s called Slipknot and Fear Factory, old school traditional metal lmao WTF. They were literally new bands in the early 2000s how can they be called traditional.
@@jesseinfinite I was referring to the vocal style. Compared to now. There are so many now, I consider that type of vocalizing back then as traditional lol. But I’m not trying to step on toes here....hails 🤘🏽🤘🏽
@@luiswiley86 dude traditional metal is black sabbath, or Judas Priest, iron maiden, Dio. Hell if you called Metallica traditional metal even that would be more acceptable than calling slipknot and fear factory traditional metal
Matts duration and dedication is incredible
1:47 this is crazy, I JUST watched that caliban set from 2000 earlier today. This is from back when they were a hardcore band like Morning Again or something
Mindscar great band Ritchie Brown is super talented! I used to be in a band called Double Veteran (central FL area 1999-2003) and saw Ritchie when he was 14 years old I said " that kids going places! *"
how matt tuck learned to scream is a good idea,i love bullet for my valentine that's why i want to see him at loudwire
His song Pillars of Serpents (2017 version) taught me how to scream 🖤
Doing different techniques for different situations is amazing...still doing the old scream for records though
Definitely we need one for Tatiana Shmaylyuk. Women want to know how to scream too
Thank you for this! I really enjoyed this video!
Your journey through music discovery is identical to mine. And also my daughter has been listening to metal since she was born. She headbangs and throws the devil horns.
So?
Man matt i love these dude is badass awesome lead singer and trivium being a badass band
Trivium is Awsome!! Very talented Indeed. 🤘🤘🎸
I saw these guys on accident one weekend just taking my cousin to random shows I would go to every weekend in Dallas. They were touring pull harder on the strings of your martyr , great time to be a teenager.
Interesting. Matt is awesome, it's nice to hear that even the pros need to adapt and constantly learn.
0:54 Olive Oiiiil !!!
If you want too hear the best screamer, singer period look no farther than AVATAR. Truly amazing what this guy can do with his voice. Live he's just as good. Nobody else comes even close.
The best metal band out imo.
Agreed!!! Saw them live a few years ago and he is soooo damn good as a live vocalist!
Can you please teach me
@@GraeChapter Sorry I can't. I don't really know how I do it, I just do it. It's like speaking without an actual voice? Hard to explain.
Matt's work ethics. Damn.
Playing Fit For An Autopsy and architects in front of the kids, Legendary dad right there 🤘🏻
Every single time that I hear the word "discipline" I immediately think of Matt Heafy.
Best thing that worked for me :
- Having a car, training my screams while singing to different bands,
- Melissa Cross : Zen of Screaming 1 & 2,
- Listening to different vocals, trying different ways to achieve different sounds, experimenting a lot ! (that's the most important imo).
what a great video, and what a great singer!
YES IN FLAMES!!!!
absolutely lovely video
This is the guy that gave DK his guitar!!
Yes
He also gave a guitar to Jared dines...
@CharybdisChaos Donkey Kong
Really informative. Thank you!
My son introduced me to these guys! Love them. Great Sabbath and Pantera influences
Matt has the power, thats for sure!
What a cool dude !
Matt Heafy needs to do a Death/Black Metal Album with Trivium
2021, Mrityu...hopefully
This is very cool. Man, whatever it comes to your life, don't let it get to you. Just keep doing what you love to do even if you can't scream anymore. The music is your life, right 😉👍
Fun fact: he went to my high school. I was gone by then but my sister knew his wife. So I can imagine the parking lot and him pulling up in it. LOL. When I was there, I pulled up in a 1989 Mazda 929 blasting Pantera. People hated it.

Que genial la técnica nueva de Matt me encanta y prolonga su carrera como cantante porque está ni es tan perjudicial como la que usaba antes.
Y la técnica del grito del demonio dónde esta 🤔
Gracias Matt y Loudwire!
thank you for those bands! heaven shall burn is awesome!
Everyone and their mothers has Shure SM7B mics now
I’ve waited for this video since 2003
