Roman and Rock gave everyone what they wanted with Cody this past Mania….if Rock comes back, let him have his match w/ Roman Cena is suppose to be doing a farewell tour next year. Can have him work/feud with Cody.
Part of me wants it to be Heyman that actually puts together the team to help Roman. The way I see it hardly anyone would listen to Roman because of what he did as the tribal chief, but Heyman is the master negotiator (or manipulator) who could get people like Cody, Kevin Owens, or even CM Punk to look over past failings and help Roman for the greater good of wrestling.
I'm sorry but I kind of hate this .. I've always been a bigger fan of the inner Bloodline turmoil. Adding Owens, and Rhodes to a feud that should clearly be Bloodline vs Roman, Usos and Zayn is an issue with me. Plus Rock vs Roman is the WrestleMania feud I want to see. Rhodes already got in the way of that match once, let us have it at 41.
This is how I would book it. We start off with Roman returning a few weeks before survivor series and upon his return he has recruited the usos and Sami zayn to help take out solos bloodline at survivor series in war games (4vs4). The following week Sami is destroyed backstage by the bloodline leaving Roman and the usos with a man short. The week before survivor series Roman hires Sami’s replacement. The rock. Rock basically says that he hasn’t forgotten about Cody Rhodes and will deal with him in time but first he needs to deal with some family business. At survivor series Roman starts for his team to show he is able to lead the team by example rather than last time staying in the shark cage til last. Solos team have the advantage due to tama and Tonga defeating jey on smackdown to gain the advantage. Everyone has now entered the cage for both teams except the rock. Both the usos get handcuffed against the cage essentially leaving Roman in a 4 vs 1 situation. The rock is released from the shark cage before any significant damage is done to Roman and the rock brings a couple of chairs into the cage to try and even the odds. As Roman approaches the other ring to attack the bloodline rock swings the chair into romans back (like what Seth and Sami had done to Roman in the past) and the rock and the entire bloodline destroys Roman reigns. In a dream scenario I’d make it the same rules as the old school war games (or blood and guts) and have jey uso quit to try and save Roman (going back to where this who’ll thing started in their I quit match inside hell in a cell (another cage and a very similar situation). The following smackdown it is revealed that the rock had hired the other bloodline members to go after Cody after he beat Roman at mania. Leading up to the royal rumble rock makes it clear it’s time for him to bring the title back into the bloodline and makes a match between them at the rumble in a bloodline rules match. At the rumble rock looks like he is going to win when Roman returns and helps Cody beat the rock. Randy orton wins his 3rd royal rumble which leads to a match between him and Cody at mania. Like the edge feud Randy turns heel immediately on Cody and they play a lot off their past history. As for rock and Roman. Roman challenges rock to a match at mania. Rock grants Roman his match as long as Roman can win every match he is in now until elimination chamber. Every smackdown leading into the elimination chamber Roman will face a member of solos bloodline (solo, tama, Tonga, Jacob and a recent recruit by the rock like hikaleo). Roman beats all 5 members in consecutive weeks and rock announces that at the elimination chamber ple Roman will compete in a 1 vs all bloodline chamber match against he men he beat he consecutive weeks. Roman must start the chamber and then defeat each member in a gauntlet style match where the next opponent will be released from his pod if Roman conquers them. Roman survives the chamber and faces the rock at wrestlemania.
Bro call me a mark but at this point I'd much rather have Roman v Rock rather than Cody v Rock. Say what you will but Roman and Rock is still a dream match up there with Rock and Cena and the story writes itself. We keep talking about how oh we'll do Cody and Rock at WM41 and then Rock and Roman at WM42 but we all seem to think the Rock is still in his prime and won't be 55 at the time of WM42. They should do Randy vs Cody and Rock vs Roman instead at WM41 as they are both main event caliber matches. If we never end up getting this match it would be up there with the biggest missed opportunities of all time with Sting and Taker.
I’m liking what you’re saying. I only think that switch out KO for Randy in the back half of the year because Randy has to turn on Cody eventually. Then if they do the tag match at elimination chamber, then Randy turns and then goes crazy he doesn’t get a match at Wrestlemania which means we get crazy angry heel Randy.
Id love to see Cody and Orton at Manina 41, dont care how it gets there i just feel thats a perfect mania main event level match given their history and what they where once like and where they are at now ... Cody and Orton at Elimination Chamber vs Rock and Roman, rock turns on Roman, Orton turns on Cody, then Rock drags Cody onto Roman for the pin or some sort of silly finish after the heel turns ... And that sets up 2 matches for mania ...
Simon, love your stuff man, always entertaining. Here's my thoughts for some of this, though I'm not sure how exactly to get it all in to play. I think Jimmy is going to play a much bigger part in all of this. Since Jay has prospered so much in everything that's happened, I think WWE almost owes it to Jimmy to get a spotlight for a while. At some point in probably a tag team match of some importance, maybe like Jay and Sami against the Tongans for the tittle, Jimmy arrives out of the crowd as is his thing and takes out Jay to cost them the match. It's not just a hit and run or anything though, Jimmy absolutely brutalizes Jay and leaves him a bloody mess while the Tongans do their thing to Sami. Jimmy appears to fully side with the new bloodline. However, later maybe at Elimination Chamber or something, during the big match where Jimmy is on Solo's bloodline side, at some point in the match Jimmy and Jay wind up face to face in the ring with other big players in precarious spots, and in a blink they both grin and together rip apart the Solo bloodline, removing them from the Wrestlemania picture somehow, leaving it open for the Rock's faction. It leaves everyone confused on wtf just happened. Then on Raw the next night they come out together and play a video they made almost a year prior and held in secret. It shows the two of them reuniting shortly after last Wrestlemania as a repentant Jimmy and a heartsick Jay. They agree the only way to finish this is to get inside, but they'll never trust Jay again so it has to be Jimmy, and the only way they'll trust Jimmy again is if there's no way the faces will. So they arrange for Jimmy to make the most brutal assault he's ever done be against his own willing brother, just to get that piece in place that makes the difference. I actually visualize an awesome conversation between them along the lines of "Brother, I'm going to have to make you bleed for them to believe this. = Brother, we've been bleeding for years. This is how we stop the bleeding". In the end it not only reunites the Uso's as a powerhouse tag team, but they both become recognized as singles stars as well and are both more over than they've ever been. That paves the way for the Rock's bloodline to step into the vacuum and him to be the final boss of the whole scenario for Roman to eventually deal with. I knowthis isn't exactly a Booking Cody scenario, but I think it will play into how Cody's story evolves.
Actually now that I read through this again, this would work better against the Rock's bloodline rather than Solo's, since Solo is the one who excommunicated Jimmy. That would make it an even bigger moment to happen.
One thing I'd change if it were me booking this: Final four at the Rumble: Jey, Roman, Rock, Sami. Jey gets yeeted into the fifth row, Rock throws Roman out of the ring. Despair sets in. Roman distracts Rock from the outside, Sami tries to throw Rock out, gets tossed. Roman catches him, brings him to the steps. Rock is cocky, tells Sami to come back in so he can end this. Superkick from Jey. Superman punch from Roman. Sami rolls in and throws the Rock out. Sami vs. Gunther at Mania, run it back.
They should have Cody drop the Championship to Bron Breaker after Bron wins the Rumble with the IC Title. (Yes, a Bron Breakker Mania win). Cody v Reigns can happen without the title down the line. Maybe new Bloodline shenanigans. Keeps the title away from the Bloodline for a while. Rock vs Reigns has to happen at this point. For everyone who wanted to see it, we never got it.
Personally I would keep Cody out of The Bloodline civil war. Have The Usos and Sami Zayn with Roman against Bloodline 2.0 and Rock. Honestly I'd bring Hikaleo in as a baby face with Roman to even the odds
If the long-term goal is to have Kevin Owens eventually turn heel, you could have him refuse to join War Games and have Jimmy in that spot. Simmer the friction between Owens and Cody, Owens and Sami etc.
Only thing I don't agree with is KO at Survivor series teaming up with Roman. I feel like it was to be the Usos, Zayn, Roman. It might have to be a 4v4 at Survivor Series. Because I do feel like we might get Cody on a side angle with Orton for the fall and winter. I feel like Orton might finally turn heel, go after Cody, maybe even because Cody was thinking about teaming up with Roman. Then bam, Orton vs Cody for Survivor Series or Royal Rumble or both. But I do believe the end game is Cody vs Rock at Mania for the wwe title. I also really like having KO beating Cody at next year's Summerslam, the. Scree it hype up a KO vs Zayn for the wwe title program for next year's fall/winter or even Mania. Then... 2026 Cody is the one to defeat Gunther for the world title after a 2 year run for Gunther, screw it lol.
Rock winning the royal rumble at 30 needs to happen. Perhaps you could have Rock, Roman, Solo, and Fatu as the final 4. Then Rock directs them to eliminate Roman. And the 2 of them voluntarily eliminate themselves, as the grand gesture that the Rock has been in charge the whole time. Then you could have rock/cody and Roman/Fatu or Roman/Solo at WM.
Cody v the Rock is just not something I think anyone wants. Rock v Roman. Bloodline v Bloodline 2.0 must be the end game. I think Rock is pulling the strings behind Solo and Bloodline 2. Cody v Orton… must have Orton take him down. He kills legends 👊👊👊

Interesting booking… it’s not how I’d do it but I wouldn’t mind this. I think there are several things the WWE can play with that isn’t touched on here. The first thing would be surprise heel turns. There could be any number of turns from fairly obvious like Kevin Owens to the unexpected like Sami. It’s easy to turn anyone for the obvious excuse that any person could still hold animosity against Roman. The other thing is a little thread from long ago where Roman talked about how being the tribal chief changes a person and not in a good way… they could play with Roman learning that he doesn’t need to be Tribal Chief or can be a different type of Chief that does things differently.
They need to something crazy with Cody and Bloodline. I don't want to see same type of story beats week after week until Wrestlemania. I was so excited with the AJ feud but then they went back to Bloodline.
This mania is the first on netflix, first location chosen by TKO... The rock vs roman has to be the headliner. They didnt move off Minneapolis for anything less
Were it me, I'd probably book the Rock to cost Cody the title at Royal Rumble to whoever you want to give the belt to because if you get the belt off Cody, it makes it more believable that Rock could beat Cody at Wrestlemania. The Rock definitely doesn't need a title match at this stage of his career, IMO.
I know this video is about Cody, but Jey needs to be the last person Roman gets back to the OG Bloodline. Jey was the first (forced) member and he fought so hard to keep his family together and they ultimately pushed him out. He’s gotta have this long drawn out recruiting storyline for it to work.
Call me crazy but cena should be the tag partner he got involved at WM40 and you could have him say he doesn’t want to be involved he want doesn’t want his last matches to be wrapped up in someone else’s story but Cody offers him the chance at the record breaking title reign to convince him and in an ideal world that could even stretch after WM till summerslam where Cody can turn heel on cena after losing and then a new person can then cash in on a prone John cena he gets his record breaking win but loses it the same night
Heres how they tie the rock to roman. On an epsiode of raw/smackdown, roman gets knocked down by a car. Few weeks we find out it was sikoa. Sikoa comes out to answer for his crime he drops the bombshell "I did it for the Rock"
Or at wm41 between cody vs rock for the belt u have rock beat cody at wm41 to become the new wwe champion than rock holes it till wm42 than have rock vs roman for the belt nd roman beats the rock to be the champion again

Its time to call it, man. The Bloodline storyline has given us some of the best wrestling tv in history but it needs to end. Roman vs Rock at WM. No WWE titles involved. At Survivor Series its Romans Team (w/ The Usos and the Rock) vs Solos team. Thats where the betrayal happens by The Rock on Roman. Also at WM its the Usos vs Solo and Jacob for the tag titles. That leaves the Tongans who join AJ Styles, The Good Brothers and reform the best incarnation of The Bullet Club who then become the new dominant faction in WWE for a couple years.
Are we just going to forget about that segment on the Raw after Mania where The Rock was holding Cody's title? It's clear to me the endgame for WM41 is Rock-Cody. (Which would probably be a better match than Rock-Roman, as Cody can carry the 50+ year old Rock to a good match.) Plus, I really want Jacob Fatu vs. Roman Reigns at WM.

Rock winning the royal rumble at 30 needs to happen. Perhaps you could have Rock, Roman, Solo, and Fatu as the final 4. Then Rock directs them to eliminate Roman. And the 2 of them voluntarily eliminate themselves, as the grand gesture that the Rock has been in charge the whole time. Then you could have rock/cody and Roman/Fatu or Roman/Solo at WM.

Interesting booking… it’s not how I’d do it but I wouldn’t mind this.
I think there are several things the WWE can play with that isn’t touched on here. The first thing would be surprise heel turns. There could be any number of turns from fairly obvious like Kevin Owens to the unexpected like Sami. It’s easy to turn anyone for the obvious excuse that any person could still hold animosity against Roman.
The other thing is a little thread from long ago where Roman talked about how being the tribal chief changes a person and not in a good way… they could play with Roman learning that he doesn’t need to be Tribal Chief or can be a different type of Chief that does things differently.
They need to something crazy with Cody and Bloodline. I don't want to see same type of story beats week after week until Wrestlemania. I was so excited with the AJ feud but then they went back to Bloodline.
This mania is the first on netflix, first location chosen by TKO... The rock vs roman has to be the headliner. They didnt move off Minneapolis for anything less

The Rock definitely doesn't need a title match at this stage of his career, IMO.
I know this video is about Cody, but Jey needs to be the last person Roman gets back to the OG Bloodline. Jey was the first (forced) member and he fought so hard to keep his family together and they ultimately pushed him out. He’s gotta have this long drawn out recruiting storyline for it to work.

Its time to call it, man. The Bloodline storyline has given us some of the best wrestling tv in history but it needs to end. Roman vs Rock at WM. No WWE titles involved. At Survivor Series its Romans Team (w/ The Usos and the Rock) vs Solos team. Thats where the betrayal happens by The Rock on Roman. Also at WM its the Usos vs Solo and Jacob for the tag titles. That leaves the Tongans who join AJ Styles, The Good Brothers and reform the best incarnation of The Bullet Club who then become the new dominant faction in WWE for a couple years.
