  • In this episode I play through my brand new Epiphone Electra amp. It's a replica of those old 50's amps and it sounds unique.

The combination of that amplifier, and your telecaster…, that is exactly the page sound…!!
🎶❤️👍🏻🎶🎸. My 35 Year Old Joe Glaser (B) Bender Tele my Main Axe …, I just purchased one of these Apple fires. It will be here next Tuesday….! I just happen to come across your video…🎶👍🏻 It’s going to be interesting to be able to play some zeppelin and have my set up sound similar if not exact to what Jimmy had …🙏🏻 I will be 70 years old next March 28..! And have been a professional musician most all of my life… but this is as close to pages sound that I have ever heard…!

This is the best demo of this amp by light years. I use mine with a SC 112 cab and reverb, etc. from my Boss ME 70 and it gives me what I need for blues. Mine doesn’t have the dreaded buzz either, and cuts thru the mix beautifully.

I've been watching some of your videos, which popped up in my suggestions. For some reason, it never occurred to me to subscribe. So, now I'll fix that. You have great videos and you really go through a very thorough walk-through of what the gear can do. I really dig that because I do that myself. You now have a new subscriber and someone who will engage with your content. Cheers

I have an original elector amp that I am starting to restore. I love the wood cabinet on this thing. The Epiphone Electar design is actually from 1939 not the 1950s just a piece of trivia for you.

That's a pretty good review. Century is a special vintage amp. You are the real doctor guitar. Tks.

I got one of these and changed a bunch of stuff in the circuit. It has both a preset (with set resistance values) Fender AB763 (Blackface) Deluxe tone stack followed by a Fender 6G3(brown face) Deluxe style tone stack between the first and second gain stage. I got rid of the pull to add gain circuit as it sounds terrible. It also dumps a ton of signal to ground that's why it's hard to make it break up. Which I removed. I installed a pot where the foot switch jack was in order to be able to vary the resistance right before it hits the phase inverter. This makes it possible to go from more head room and less volume and something that breaks up easily and sounds amazing. I am still going to add another pot to be able to add and remove bass. Because now it has much more bass. Because I removed all the choke points in the circuit where they were filtering out the bass and mostly passing treble.Totally modded this thing and now it's a tone monster, much louder and very versatile. I can get tons of tones out of it now. They really choked off the tone of this amp with the factory circuit. It has a lot of potential but requires modification. I was blown away by the difference. Thanks Love your videos.

Great. But were those mods expensive?

@@BuddaGuedes I did them myself. I only used a few different value resistors, pot and one 120 picofarad cap. Mostly I took stuff out. Probably not a job for everyone. It was a great amp as is for a studio piece as you have chosen to use it. I love your videos! I just can't help but mess with everything. Lol. Thanks for the content!

Nice addition to your collection. You should get a Kemper and start modeling those amps and speakers!

Some nice tones there. IMHO you need to put it up on a stool or sumpin... also pop off the back cover so we can see the tubes... luv those gut shots... cheers
