  • In this episode I review the Fender Blues Deluxe combo. It's a great medium amp, with a very versatile tone.
    This Fender Blues Deluxe is part of the limited edition series so it has a different speaker and finishing. It sounds a little different from a regular Fender Blues Deluxe.

    Truth be told, you're a KILLER player. All your chops are so good that we pro's can't help but light up, turn on the black lights and Lava Lamps and get into the posters. That coming from someone like me is ranking you as a damn good blues rock guitar player.

    Hey man I’ve had my Blues Deluxe Western Noir for a little under a year now and have found it a bit challenging to understand the EQ and you just helped me immensely. I’ve always cranked the bass on all my amps and this was no different so thank you for clearing up some misconceptions I’ve had about these amps. Thank you so much. I’ll be sure to check out more of your content

    This is a great review! So very informative. I have the Blues Deluxe and have put an Eminence Swamp Thang in it. I eq'd it with the same ratio as you, but thought I was crazy for having the bass so low. Now I understand why. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge!

    Budda, your explanation of how the EQ works on this amp is priceless! Fender should include a link to your video in its promotional material and flyers for this amp. I struggled getting a good sound on this amp for a year, and hated it. But after watching this video, I set the bass level to 0 and the treble level to about 6, and mid range and presence level to about 4. This is on the clean channel. On the drive channel, I just add a little bit bass. Super great sound, really happy with it. You are right, this is a great amp but too many people don't know how to set the EQ, usually setting bass at 7 and treble at 4. When you turn the volume up, the sound is awful. I have the western noir limited edition too. I did, however, make two changes to the amp. I put a Jensen P12N in it, and changed the first tube to a 12AT7 to tame the loudness. I feel the 12AX7 is just too much. Now I can use it at home for practicing. Thanks again, brother! I hope one day to visit Portugal!

    Blues deluxe citcuit have nothing in common with a bassman at all, is more similar to a blues junior actually, blues deluxe have no cathode follower tone stack lika a bassman for instance, have way smaller transformers and cascade gain stage,is like a blues junior with a drive control that is introduced on the drive option to have less signal to ground on the clean option but is actually the same clean channel so no 2 channel amp, even the phase inverter is different , sound nothing like a bassman

    So this is the Blues Deluxe... how much more headroom does the HotRod Deluxe have? I really want an amp that will scream in the "Normal" mode and then take a Big Muff for my distortion. I use my pedals for my distortion, and need a super bright normal channel that pushes the amp just below the point of breakup. I'm a telecaster player if that helps identify my 'tone'.

    • @BuddaGuedes

    • @BuddaGuedes
      @BuddaGuedes  5 лет назад +1

      That’s a hard one to answer. The blues jr is smaller but has less headroom. The Blues Deluxe is heavier but is a very loud amp.
